Our Review of the January 2019 Sisley Box
Each box comes with a card sharing the theme of the box. This month is “New Year & New Resolutions”.
And detailing the items included with tips on how to use them:
Now, on to the items!
Each month’s products come nestled inside a satin pouch.
This serum is said to dramatically reduce dark spots, so I have to admit it is a little wasted on me since my overall tone is pretty even. I would say that even without that benefit, this is still a stellar formula. It was one of the fastest absorbing serums I have ever tried, which might make it a great choice for someone with oilier skin. I have very dry skin, so I generally prefer more of a moisture bomb. Regardless, the scent was heaven, and it did give me a little boost in radiance.
I liked this formula very much because it left a matte finish for my makeup application in the morning. Of course, it smells incredible, like every single product this company makes. It was extremely hydrating and not greasy at all. My skin loves anything with ginseng and always responds to it with a beautiful sort of glow. This formula also has Rosemary and Horsetail.
This lotion is for day wear, and it means to form a protective and anti-aging bubble between your skin and the elements until you get home and start your nightly routine. It smells beautiful, makes your skin glow, and leaves a wonderful base for your makeup.
This primer was a heavier formula and filled with iridescent pink shimmer. I usually add a liquid highlighter with a very similar shimmer to my foundation before I apply it each morning. I didn’t love the way in mixed with my foundation, but I do usually skip a primer most days. I could easily see myself using this more often in the warmer seasons because it would give me a glow for those months of summer skin when I don’t use foundation at all.
This gel was super thick and had a sharp green smell like herbs, lemons, and tomato leaves. It was an odd, yet comforting smell that I would absolutely wear. The gel was refreshing to my skin and also left it softly scented.
Verdict: I sometimes love each lotion or serum that Sisley sends so much that I have to admit I would have trouble differentiating between some of them if I was actually shopping. This box has a value of about $84.36, which is, of course, awesome for a $10 box. I know, I know, the tubes are so small, and some of the samples are literally single serve packets. I get it! But for skincare junkies, this is the change to try out champagne skincare on a beer budget. It is a nice monthly treat! I tend to always save my items from this box for night use only, and I always use a toner before application, as it truly does allow you to use less product.
