This business-card-sized affirmation is meant to be a portable reminder of the gratitude this box hopes us to focus on this quarter.

Merkaela Winter January 2019 salt bath Merkaela Winter January 2019 salt bath back

Cinnamon Salt Bath, 8 oz - Listed Value $18.00

Sometimes cinnamon products can smell very holiday-like and artificial. These beautiful salts are a true natural cinnamon scent that is super earthy and herbal. I have been using salts in foot soaks lately and I love the warm and cozy feeling they bring, along with muscle relaxation and better circulation. This fragrance is just perfect for a soak in this cold weather.

Merkaela Winter January 2019 elixir back

Merkaela Patchouli Meditation Elixir, 2 oz - Listed Value $18.50

This spray smells so good! Admittedly, I am a patchouli lover, so I am always thrilled with any products that have this distinctive herbal scent. It is woody, musky, and more than a little sexy. You can use it during your meditative practice to instantly transform your space or just literally spray it everywhere in your house and car like I do.

Merkaela Winter January 2019 butter Merkaela Winter January 2019 body butter back info Merkaela Winter January 2019 body butter open

Frankincense Body Butter, 4 oz - Listed Value $25.00

The formula of this body butter is a super nourishing base of shea, olive, hemp, and jojoba. This formula will take a little extra effort to rub in and absorb, but it is totally worth it, promise! The scent is mild pure frankincense. I like to rub a slower absorbing formula like this all over my legs before bed and then sleep in loose pants to prevent it from getting all over my sheets. In the morning my legs are glowing and very hydrated.

Apple Cinnamon Tea Ritual, 12-14 tsp. - Listed Value $8.50

I don't always love an apple cinnamon flavor like this but this naturally sweet tea blend was a real treat! Instead of that artificial scent/taste that comes to mind when you think of so many apple+cinnamon foods, this was very herbal and well balanced. I loved the cheerful little yellow calendula petals! It made for a very pretty brew.

Merkaela Winter January 2019 citrine Merkaela Winter January 2019 citrine side Merkaela Winter January 2019 citrine bottom Merkaela Winter January 2019 cirtine detail

Citrine Druce Crystal Cluster - Listed Value $15.00

Hello gorgeous! I was so thrilled to see this pretty cluster waiting to be discovered in this box. I actually only have one super small piece of citrine in my collection so this is an especially exciting find for me. Citrine is a prosperity stone said to attract happiness and abundance. Who doesn't want more of that? Even if you don't buy into the metaphysical benefits of crystals you can't help but be charmed by such a cheerful color and sparkle.

Merkaela Winter January 2019 sage bundle Merkaela Winter January 2019 sage bundle top Merkaela Winter January 2019 sage bundle detail

Sacred Sage - Listed Value $6.50

Sage is one of those elements that as of late has become super trendy but I think it is important to touch on the true spiritual significance and importance to certain cultures this plant has. (The Merkaela blog has a nice little write up on this that I highly recommend reading) White sage and other herbs are often used to purify and cleanse in spiritual contexts and they can be an absolutely beneficial ceremony to add to your life! I tend to smudge sage as well as other herbs such as cedar and rosemary when I am feeling lost and in need of centering or guidance, or when I feel like I need a fresh perspective or just a little extra clarity and protection, sometimes from my own negative thoughts. I like to think that these cleansing herbs help me cleanse out the figurative shadows in my "corners" if you will. When I light a bundle I like to carry it around my house and gently blow the smoke into the actual corners of my house and above my doorways. Always smudge with intention.

Merkaela Winter January 2019 soap Merkaela Winter January 2019 woodspice soap Merkaela Winter January 2019 woodspice soap side shot

Woodspice Bar Soap, 3.5 oz - Listed Value $9.50

This soap smells like a fall vacation in a log cabin. It is so woody and crisp, but also just a wee bit sexy and spicy. it left my skin feeling clean and refreshed without stripping it dry. It also was super bubbly! I need more of this scent in my life, STAT!

The Verdict: This was my first Merkaela box and I really enjoyed it! Each of the products felt very luxurious and nourishing. I was thrilled with all the woodsy scents in this batch. I am a crystal nut so I loved the stunning chunk of citrine crystals. The salts were such a treat and the body butter made my sad winter legs shine again. My husband has already stolen the soap, but I will share (I guess) and the patchouli elixir makes me smile whenever I catch the scent in my home. This is absolutely a more expensive box, but it is also one of those "experience" type boxes that I always value greatly. Each product ties into the theme perfectly and creates a cohesive experience I really enjoyed. The overall listed value of the box is a healthy $101.00.

Wow! Talk about over priced items. 🙄🤨😬

Smudging can only actually be done by people in the native American groups it is derived from. You can walk around your house burning it but unless you are a part of that culture you aren’t smudging. Also it should be sourced carefully

Interesting box. Pricey but looks to be of decent quality. I’m gonna add this to my list to consider as I wade through my other 27 subs.

It is pricer, but the products feel really luxe! Let me know what you think if you end up subbing!

Do they sell singular items? I was on their site and couldn’t figure it out. 😬

Luna

They do! When you get to their site there’s a “Shop” link on the upper right of the page. It’s fairly small, so I can see how it’d be hard to miss. 🙂

I’ve been keeping an eye on this box in case my Yogi Surprise box fails me. Thanks for the review.
