Our Review
Each box comes with an info card detailing the items included. This month the box is also entirely palm oil free in collaboration with the Orangutan Alliance. Palm oil is in nearly 70% of all cosmetics and also in a ton of food products. The demand for this product is unsustainable and the deforestation process destroys the habitats of many different animals, including the Orangutan. There is also an additional card if you are a VIP subscriber ($48.95 a box).
Now, on to the items!
Sylveco Soothing Eye Cream, 1.0 fl oz - FULL SIZE! Retail Value $32.00
I am an unapologetic eye cream hoarder and this was an excellent addition to my evergrowing collection! This is an amazing choice for anyone with super sensitive skin because it is hypoallergenic, fragrance-free, and filled with super soothing and gentle ingredients. The main draw of this product for me is the inclusion of birch bark, which usually helps my delicate facial skin with the redness I tend to especially suffer from during the winter months. Though this is an eye cream, I have used it on my entire face after an especially windy day and woke up with calm and happy skin.
ZSkin Mineral Mascara Primer - Retail Value $17.95
I am not one of those people who generally spends much time thinking about the length of her eyelashes, but admittedly, my makeup routine is very basic! I liked this product very much, though I cannot see myself using it daily. It will likely be reserved for those special occasions (where many others might wear false eyelashes) to give me that extra va-va-voom. I can appreciate this formula for more than it's lash plumping properties, as the oil and wax would have to be just really good for your lash health in general. If you are looking for a vegan and natural lash primer, this is a good option for sure!
Pulse Skincare Quick Fix Spray, 4 oz - Retail Value $22.95
This spray is genius. So many of us run to the gym before work and have to then go straight into the office or have to start cooking as soon as we get out of the gym after work. This means often delaying a much-needed shower! This spray is designed to fill in the gap between sweat and shower by helping refresh your skin, reduce the likelihood of breakouts, and give you a fresh clean smell. You can also use it as a general facial toner. The power players in this formula are witch hazel, lavender, and orange essential oils.
Bee Magical Save the Bees Bracelet - Retail Value $15.00
Bees are a big deal! They are responsible for the pollination of so many of the foods we eat and enjoy. Bee Magical has created these bracelets to bring awareness to the significant issue of bee colony collapse and they donate 10% of all sales to the NY Bee Sanctuary. I thought the lilac cord was a really lovely choice to complement the bright gold bee charm bead. I did find this bracelet to be uncomfortably tight on my wrist.
VIP Box Item: Bellápierre Hi Def Primer, 1.0 oz - Retail Value $75.00
This reminded me SO MUCH of the cult fave Smashbox Photofinish Primer, and for good reason: they share many of the same main ingredients. This formula has less of an ingredient list, but both are cruelty-free, which is awesome! It has the same powdery matte finish and was indistinguishable from the Smashbox formula to me personally, even after all day wear. The main difference between these formulas is that this one is over twice as expensive for the same amount of product. Something well worth considering! Regardless I always love a good primer and I am thrilled with this in the box this month.
Verdict: I loved this month's Love Goodly even more for the omission of palm oil. The products themselves were all pretty solid and had excellent variety. I am especially tickled with the freshening spray and the primer, and I love the cute bee bracelet! The lash primer is something I don't normally use but I am glad to have in hand for special occasions, and eye cream is always a winner for me. I am estimating the overall value for this box to be $162.90, which is an exceptional value for a $48.95 box.
