Gwynnie Bee January 2019 Review
This review is of the 3 items at a time subscription from 12/21 through 1/20.
KENSIE - Bell Sleeve Ivory Cloud Dress
For some reason, I feel like it's really refreshing to wear and to see others wearing white during winter. Even though all the old-timey fashion rules have been more or less thrown out the window, you still don't see a lot of white in the winter. This dress is really pretty and felt very stylish! My only complaint really is that the sleeves are too long, but that is partially my fault for having short arms. Otherwise, the dress was comfortable and easy to wear. The sleeves and yoke are fairly sheer.
LUCKY BRAND - Embroidered Bell Sleeve Black Top
This cotton knit blend top was super comfortable! If you read my reviews you know that I am a big fan of Lucky Brand, and this shirt is a great example of why. The print is a modern take on the classic winter black floral, and the top manages to have a shape while still being comfortable. I really like the bell sleeves and the trim on them, too! Very cool.
LUCKY BRAND - Border Print Burgundy Peasant Top
This is another cotton top from Lucky Brand, but unlike the previous top, it is not a knit. It didn't have any stretch (as a knit would), but the cut is perfect, so it was still very easy to wear and comfortable. I like the color a lot! It has a unique boho print also. I enjoyed wearing this top.
ANDREE BY UNIT - Navy Velvet Top
Usually, when I see a velvet top, the first thing I think is that it is going to be heavy and too warm. Not so with this top. I'm not sure how, but it was a good weight! I love the color and the print, and of course, the texture was just awesome! It was very comfortable and did not get too hot at all. I'm constantly impressed by the evolution of new textiles used in the garment industry.
GIVEN KALE - Tassel Embroidered Black Peplum Blouse
This is another top that was just a pleasure to wear! This one is crepe with a mesh panel across the yoke in back. I love the design and embroidery on the front! It's so pretty! I also thought the red and white threaded tassels looked very cool and different. The cut is great, too, so the top overall was flattering and comfortable.
LUCKY BRAND - Geometric Cardigan
Yes, it was another Lucky month for me! As I mentioned, I love Lucky Brand, mainly for its boho aesthetic, but lately, I have been really into their cardigans and dusters. They always have cool patterns and interesting details, and this one is no different. They are also usually super warm! I wore this one several times this month, and it was fantastic!
The Verdict: I love Gwynnie Bee! This month everything was a great fit and fun to wear! I especially liked the Lucky cardigan, and I was really impressed by the Given Kale top. I love having the opportunity to try lots of different looks, especially some that are outside of my usual style. This was another awesome month!
