I actually decided on the surprise me (no choice option) and received the shampoo and conditioner from the curated box (not a biggie, since I usually buy the giant bottles at Costco that work really well for my hair. I got an email saying that my box has shipped. The tracking says that the post office hasn’t received it yet 🙁

Feb box for me is:
Sunday Riley Auto Correct Brightening and Depuffing Eye Contour Cream (yay! I wanted to try this and have been enjoying the CEO oil from Allure)
Benefit Cosmetics They’re Real! Lengthening Mascara (yay x2! I wasn’t impressed with any of the overrated Two Faced mascaras I received lately)
(MALIN+GOETZ) vitamin e face moisturizer (yay x3! I’ve never tried this and I only use oil-free moisturizers)

Birchbox has been hit/miss with a few items each month, but I’m not too upset since it’s actually an $8 box for me as I bought the annual with a coupon.

Why can’t I opt out of an entire category instead of specific items in that category? I hate receiving any kind of shampoo/conditioner samples-I didn’t pick the curated box because I don’t need another shampoo sample.

I totally agree. I use the “curly girl” method on my thick, curly hair. I never use shampoo, so shampoo/conditioner samples are a throw away for me. I’ve given so many away to my girls, they don’t even want them. (2 of the 3 have curly hair, too.) I e-mailed ipsy and told them to opt me out of a category, and they did. Come on, BIrchbox.

wow, worst box yet: a hair smoothing balm, a skin emulsion, liquid lipstick in a color i won’t use, and a freaking bottle of PERFUME (which I can’t wear at all 🙁 ). Only bright spot is the Sunday Riley autocorrect, which I’m glad I picked out, at least.

…really wish I’d get accepted to the seekrit swap list.

I’ve been so very disappointed with the last year of birchbox. Definitely not renewing & wish I hadn’t prepaid for a 12 month subscription.

I am 4 months into my 6 month prepaid subscription, and I really regret it. I have subscribed on and off through the years, I have been get things that do not match my profile, things that I will never use, and black eyeliner alternating with black mascara every month. Not excited for this month at all.

will you get a refund if you cancelled your pre-paid year?

I actually just cancelled my prepaid recently and the policy is something like only being able to cancel within the first month but the agent that helped me made an exception even though I was already 2 months into my prepaid sub. You may be able to get it done depending on the agent who receives your request to cancel. It doesn’t hurt to try if you really want out of the sub.

Meant to add that I was also refunded the remaining portion of my unused prepaid sub. Hope this helps.

Hi Sam,

Unless they have changed something in the last couple months, you cannot cancel on the prepaid you can only opt out of having the subscription auto-renew. To cancel the auto-renew you have to contact them.

Does anyone know the sizes of the Sunday Riley Auto Correct Eye Cream?

I don’t know the size of the sample, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s .17oz since that’s typically the size of eye cream samples that come in tubes.

It’s pretty small tube, only 0.1 oz/3ml but since it’s for the eye area, a small amount is all that is needed. The opening is tiny too, so you shouldn’t accidentally squeeze too much.

I’ve only gotten five boxes from Birchbox so far, and I’ve had three of those items, so yea at least some of it. I’ll be irritated if I get the same things. Maybe we won’t get things we’ve already gotten though…keeping fingers crossed, lol.

I guess I’ve been lucky. I’ve had about 15 boxes and only one item per spoiler box are repeats. Although, some I have received in other subs, I definitely remember getting multiple OUAI Leave In Conditioner and Avene Hydrance RICH Hydrating Cream.
