Accio! “Wizard Drinks” December 2018 Review

Accio December 2018 - Prophet FrontAccio December 2018 - Prophet Back

The info card for this box is always an “issue” of the Daily Prophet, and it explains all the delights about to be discovered within. This month’s theme is “Wizard Drinks,” which feels like a celebratory theme without any overt holiday tones, which is a thoughtful and unique take on a December box. Let’s see what drinks we’re celebrating with these items – cheers!

Pumpkin Juice Insulated 12oz Tumbler with Lid – Listed Value $20

I’ve seen a lot of travel drink containers, but I’ve never seen this size tumbler with a lid! I love the presence of Madam Pomfrey’s quote on the front; I would so love some pumpkin juice right now. I’m already thinking towards summer, and I think this will be an awesome addition to my picnic supplies. There are always free outdoor concerts in a park near my house, and this will certainly keep my drinks nice and cold. The lid is perfect in case I have to place it down on uneven ground!

Accio December 2018 - Opener WideAccio December 2018 - Opener Close

Butterbeer Pub-Style Bottle Opener – Listed Value $6

I love this style of bottle opener! Sometimes called “bartender’s friend,” they’re so named because the flat shape is perfect for sticking in a back pocket while on the job, tending bar. I personally love the shape because they’re great for travel. I have an assortment of coolers that my husband and I take camping or on the beach, and I love sticking a bottle opener in each one. You never know when you might need an opener! My husband and I do love a good brewski, but this would also be good for soft drinks that come in bottles. I have a wee bit of arthritis in my hands, and this makes it way easier to open a bottle fast.

Accio December 2018 - Coffee WideAccio December 2018 - Coffee Close

Magical Brew Flavored Coffee Blend – Listed Value $4

There were two flavors I could’ve received of this coffee, and while I’m sure I would’ve liked the cinnamon option, my heart was secretly hoping for the Peppermint Toad I received! I was intrigued by the mint-hazelnut combo of this. I didn’t detect a ton of peppermint until I brewed it, but once brewed, I thought it really worked. It was hearty, and I even detected some notes of almond in addition to the hazelnut and peppermint. A cup of this has made for an awesome start to cold mornings!

Accio December 2018 - Spray Alone

Gigglewater Room Spray – Listed Value $18

I’ve enjoyed items in this box before from Highland Bluff Studio, and I immediately fell in love with the super-clever packaging of this room spray. Cleaning up after the holidays can be kind of a bummer, but what I end up unexpectedly missing is the holiday-themed room sprays. Even just admitting that makes me want to giggle! I guess it’s silly, but I never really think of getting nice room sprays for my house in the off months. This Gigglewater scent is so awesome! It’s citrus, champagne, and berry, which is delicious; it smells like a great start to 2019.

Accio December 2018 - Decal WideAccio December 2018 - Decal Close

Wizard Pub Vinyl Decal – Listed Value $6

The final item is a great take on the theme, allowing the recipient to take a little bit o’ the Three Broomsticks pub wherever they go! This item was really thoughtfully designed by Accio and produced by The Geeky Hallows – it can go on a drinking vessel, sure, but it comes with really extensive instructions for applying to a car or even a laptop. I really appreciated the included directions; it made me feel like they really care about the items being used properly and getting maximum enjoyment out of them.

Verdict: A unique theme this month was made even better by clever, high-quality items. I loved seeing everything placed in the home goods category this month, and I really think I’ll be able to use the items all year long. I loved being able to enjoy the coffee and room spray immediately, and I think the tumbler and bottle opener will be super-useful during picnic and concert season this summer. And I can’t wait to find the perfect object to adorn with this fantastic decal! I really enjoy the magic this box brings me every month.
