The Soap Shack’s The Soap Club “Surprise Me” November 2018 Review

Candy Cane Peppermint Soap Bar, 3.5 oz – Retail Value $6.95

I love candy canes and I love peppermint anything, so this soap was made just for me. The invigorating scent is strong (just how I like it!) and this was an amazing contrast to my hot shower water when I lathered up. Along with peppermint oil, this soap is made with olive oil, coconut oil, shea butter, and cocoa butter.

Sea Foam Ocean Rain Soap Bar, 3.5 oz – Estimated Value $6.95

One of the perks of subscribing to The Soap Club is that you will occasionally get exclusive items—and this is one of them! While the Sea Foam scent isn’t new to the soap shack you cannot currently purchase this soap on the website. I found the scent to be light and refreshing, and it is a much more mild scent in comparison to the aggressive peppermint. Another thing I love about The Soap Shack soaps is that the bars come wrapped in a biodegradable label that has flower seeds embedded in it. I think that is a lovely finishing touch.

The Verdict: This box was an automatic winner as soon as I smelled a whiff of peppermint, but for $12.95 a month, including free shipping, I think this is one of the better, more affordable bath and body subscription boxes out there! The fact that The Soap Shack only uses food-grade quality oils and butter is evident when using the soap. I thought being surprised by the scent choices was a rather inexpensive delight (how many times are we actually surprised by items in a subscription box these days considering our need for spoilers?).

To Wrap Up:

Can you get this box if you sign up today? No, you will get the December box.

Value Breakdown: This box costs $12.95 and I received two bars of soap. The perk of subscribing vs buying the soaps outright is that shipping is included in the subscription box price, so you are saving a few dollars while still getting high-quality soap!

I am a staunch believer that pineapple doesn’t belong on pizza and when I’m not working as a family law attorney I enjoy hiking the Louisiana trails (alligator sightings are a favorite!) or relaxing with Duchess, my cat. I’m a sucker for anything labeled a mystery box and I’ve never met a bath bomb I didn’t like.
