Shoedazzle unboxing

This model is similar to how JustFabFabletics, and AdoreMe work. (Which makes sense, as JustFab, Fabletics, and Shoedazzle exist under the same umbrella company!)

Shoedazzle New Years Eve Fringe Boots Review - December 2018

Shoedazzle black fringe boots

Rhonda Fringe Stiletto Boot, Size 8 - Retail Value $94.95, Member Price $49.95 (currently on VIP sale for $24.95!)

Can you belieeeeeeeve?! These boots practically screamed at me as I was scrolling through Shoedazzle's offerings this month. They're just so different, but because they're black, I felt like I actually make be able to make them work in my end-of-year party wardrobe. Did they seem a little ridiculous? Yes. Did the 4.75" heel scare me? A little. But can you blame me? I HAD to see them in person!

Shoedazzle fancy party boots

The most important thing about these boots, to me, is that they're a little wider around the calf than other boots I've tried from the site. They also stand up neatly—it's not like they'll be scrunching back down my calves like so many of the more form-fitting boot styles I've tried have done. I can easily wear these with leggings, tights, or a pair of skinny jeans, and they should hold their shape and height just fine.

Shoedazzle tall boho boots

The threads cascade down the shaft of the boot in layers trimmed in loopy boho embroidery. It's SO fun as you move (wait 'til you see the photo we got down at the bottom of this review), but I did have to be a bit ginger about zipping and unzipping the boots. Yep, there's a zipper under all that fringe, running from mid-sole to a few inches above my ankle. It's a necessity to undo the zipper when wriggling these on, but with so many threads flying around, you have to be very careful not to get the zipper stuck!

The real struggle of these boots, as is the struggle I have with most Shoedazzle looks, is that they're very obviously made for form, not function. The heels are SO high (this I knew going into it), but unlike department store high heels I've tried on, the rest of each shoe isn't built to support demands of the heel. There's no platform in the toe to take the edge off, no cushioning to provide arch support or give the ball of my foot some relief from all the pressure on it. In fact, the sole of the shoe is so hard and thin that it legit feels like you're walking directly on the pavement. I've doctored up past Shoedazzle shoes (like my beloved Jacinta booties, which are very similar in shape and comfort-level) with some serious Dr. Scholl's gear and only saved them for certain occasions (fancy dinner, cool concert—in other words, events with plenty of sitting down involved). It just kinda stinks when shoes marketed at $94.95 retail require so much TLC just to make them wearable.

And it's a super shame because LOOK HOW COOL AND FUN THEY ARE! I legitimately want to wear these everywhere. Will my feet let me? That remains to be seen.

The Verdict: Ugh, Shoedazzle! Your styles are so much fun—I just wish they had the substance to make them as wearable as I wish they'd be. It's such a delight getting to shop the Shoedazzle site for new affordable looks each month, but it doesn't feel like such a bargain when the shoes are so tricky to walk in. (And not to toot my own horn, but I'm very good at walking in high heels!) I do LOVE this style—it's totally different from anything I currently have in my closet, and I'm so certain it's going to turn some heads this party season. Just keep your fingers crossed that my feet survive!

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Yes! As of publication, these boots are still available in most sizes!

Coupon - New VIP Members, get your first style for $10! No code need—just use this link!

Value Breakdown: The retail value of these boots is $94.95, and the member price was $49.95 + free shipping and returns. That's a VIP discount of about 47%.

They are really weird looking and honestly if you aren’t kind to your feet they are gonna make you pay later. Being uncomfortable isn’t fashionable its stupid.

Cheap shoes like this are just a really bad idea. Even if you are young enough to want to deal with the pain now, it will likely cause huge problems later. Buy good shoes! Also, those boots are hideous.

I’m afraid that Shoedazzle produces utter crap. The boots are very cute, though.

My problem with Shoedazzle as well. Cute styles but impractical to wear due to lack of support and other issues. I need to cancel but I think I have to call to do so – their subscription system feels like more of a way to force members to visit the webite monthly. It would be a deal if the boots had the quality of the msrp but really they have the quality of the discounted sale price. It’s the illusion of a deal. I can only wear most if the boots when I am going to be sitting 95% of the time.

I just cancelled mine because of the same reason . It seemed the heals where not sturdy or supportive enough. However they did make it easier to cancel now you can do it right through the website. A while back you used to have to call and get them on the phone but now you can just go right online and do it yourself which is great.

Thank you for posting that! I have been skipping the month for 3 years Lol! I just did the live chat, from their website, and cancelled it. RELIEF! I worried I’d forget to skip it sometimes. I had been with them since 2010! They are not as good as they used to be. I have many MANY pairs from the first few years I was a active member.

Oh, perfect!!

I vote, no. Because while the pain is a choice, they won’t stop this nonsense till you vote with your wallet.

The lack of padding is the reason I don’t buy from shoedazzle anymore. They hurt sooo bad after only a few minutes standing, and I agree….it feels like you’re walking directly on pavement

What else would one expect from a Kartrashian co-owned business other than cheap? All of their clothes, make-up and shoes are junk.

I completely agree. Shoedazzle styles are FUN, but their shoes are frustrating. I’m tall, 5’9 so 4.75 inch heels are just insanely impractical for me, especially when as stated the shoes are not really made to support that kind of heel height.

I find ordering from them incredibly frustrating, all the styles I really like, are in 4 inch and above heel heights. Torrid is exactly the same. Their heeled shoes are cute, but their heights are annoying. The smaller heels are the 1/2 inch block style, which I don’t really care for, or they’re sky high stiletto style, starting at 3.75 inches.

The older I get, the less I can do with cheap shoes. I learned to save my money for investment shoes and wear those to death. I do miss the days where I could buy several pairs of high heels for a few bucks and wear them for fun

I miss those days too😞

I’m 36 and already look at the shoes I want and wonder if Dansko makes the sensible alternative to whatever clackitty-clacks I’m eyeing. How my back and feet feel at the end of the day is worth the trade 110%

They are really cute but I look at these and see an emergency trip to the Vet. If you have cats (or other curious pets) you might want to hide these from them.
