ShoeDazzle is a monthly shoe, clothing, and accessories subscription service. You can shop their merchandise like normal retail, but they have a VIP subscription that gives you better prices – many styles are only $39.95 (or less) for VIPs. When you sign up for a membership, you complete a style profile. On the 1st of every month, they release new styles, and you can pick any item you want - either from your personal "Showroom" or across the site. You can also skip the month. However, if you don’t pick or skip, you get charged $39.95 store credit to spend any time.
This model is similar to how JustFab, Fabletics, and AdoreMe work. (Which makes sense, as JustFab, Fabletics, and Shoedazzle exist under the same umbrella company!)
My Subscription Addiction pays for this box. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes)

Shoedazzle New Years Eve Fringe Boots Review - December 2018
Rhonda Fringe Stiletto Boot, Size 8 - Retail Value $94.95, Member Price $49.95 (currently on VIP sale for $24.95!)
Can you belieeeeeeeve?! These boots practically screamed at me as I was scrolling through Shoedazzle's offerings this month. They're just so different, but because they're black, I felt like I actually make be able to make them work in my end-of-year party wardrobe. Did they seem a little ridiculous? Yes. Did the 4.75" heel scare me? A little. But can you blame me? I HAD to see them in person!
The most important thing about these boots, to me, is that they're a little wider around the calf than other boots I've tried from the site. They also stand up neatly—it's not like they'll be scrunching back down my calves like so many of the more form-fitting boot styles I've tried have done. I can easily wear these with leggings, tights, or a pair of skinny jeans, and they should hold their shape and height just fine.
The threads cascade down the shaft of the boot in layers trimmed in loopy boho embroidery. It's SO fun as you move (wait 'til you see the photo we got down at the bottom of this review), but I did have to be a bit ginger about zipping and unzipping the boots. Yep, there's a zipper under all that fringe, running from mid-sole to a few inches above my ankle. It's a necessity to undo the zipper when wriggling these on, but with so many threads flying around, you have to be very careful not to get the zipper stuck!
The real struggle of these boots, as is the struggle I have with most Shoedazzle looks, is that they're very obviously made for form, not function. The heels are SO high (this I knew going into it), but unlike department store high heels I've tried on, the rest of each shoe isn't built to support demands of the heel. There's no platform in the toe to take the edge off, no cushioning to provide arch support or give the ball of my foot some relief from all the pressure on it. In fact, the sole of the shoe is so hard and thin that it legit feels like you're walking directly on the pavement. I've doctored up past Shoedazzle shoes (like my beloved Jacinta booties, which are very similar in shape and comfort-level) with some serious Dr. Scholl's gear and only saved them for certain occasions (fancy dinner, cool concert—in other words, events with plenty of sitting down involved). It just kinda stinks when shoes marketed at $94.95 retail require so much TLC just to make them wearable.
And it's a super shame because LOOK HOW COOL AND FUN THEY ARE! I legitimately want to wear these everywhere. Will my feet let me? That remains to be seen.
The Verdict: Ugh, Shoedazzle! Your styles are so much fun—I just wish they had the substance to make them as wearable as I wish they'd be. It's such a delight getting to shop the Shoedazzle site for new affordable looks each month, but it doesn't feel like such a bargain when the shoes are so tricky to walk in. (And not to toot my own horn, but I'm very good at walking in high heels!) I do LOVE this style—it's totally different from anything I currently have in my closet, and I'm so certain it's going to turn some heads this party season. Just keep your fingers crossed that my feet survive!
Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Yes! As of publication, these boots are still available in most sizes!
