mintMONGOOSE November 2018 Review

This month, I received a matching necklace and earring set along with a coordinating ring all in silver tone metal. Let’s take a look!

But first, let’s look at the options for customization:

You can pick your preferred jewelry tone. I chose “Surprise me!”

Then you choose earrings or no earrings. My ears are pierced, so I chose “Earrings.”

Next, you choose if you want watches to be included or not. I wear my current watch exclusively, so I chose “No Watches.”

Aqua Stone Dangle Necklace

The necklace this month is short and perfect for higher cut necklines. It measures 18" long and has a 3" extender. The foggy aqua and white gems feel playful and summery. I like the idea of having the two small dangles along the side but it drives me crazy that they tend to fall behind my neck. I think the necklace loses a lot of its appeal with just the larger pendant showing.

Aqua Stone Stud Earrings

These little aqua studs match the pendant from the necklace perfectly. They are a great size – not too big, not too small. I love the included wide backs because they make the studs comfy to wear and hold them straight.

Silver Disk Ring

I'm actually really happy that a ring is included this month instead of a woven bracelet. This is a super simple, silver disk ring that plays well with any other silver jewelry, including the necklace and studs above. The disk is about 1/2" in diameter and lays flush to my finger, so it's great for every day. It is adjustable, but mine came so tight that I couldn't get it on. I was able to stretch it out but it was tough!

The Verdict: I like the included pieces this month, especially the ring. The necklace and earring set is pretty but those dangles are a little frustrating. The price for this subscription is pretty affordable at $15.70 ($12 a month plus $3.70 shipping) and the quality is reflective of that. You get fun pieces in varying styles that will probably last you a season or two with normal wear.

I didn’t get that ring. I got the necklace, a matching bracelet (I signed up for no earrings) and a pin. Would have liked the ring I think. The necklace is very pretty, but really isn’t my taste. I’ve gotten some nice things from this sub, but some of the jewelry is a bit too flashy for my taste. I ended up cancelling.

I too cancelled after 3 months, but for the opposite reason. I felt the jewelry was too dainty and small for my taste and I wasn’t really enjoying it.

Looks like $5 jewelry to me.

This is really pretty, but it seems lie the design of the necklace would make more sense as a longer length so the dangles don’t fall behind. I’m keeping an eye on this one but I think they still have a few kinks to work out.
