BomiBox November 2018 “Recover” Review
The holiday season is a great time to let down your hair, eat, drink and be merry. Unfortunately, changes in our normal routine can wreak havoc on our skin. This month's box provides essentials to help your skin recover from the holiday festivities.
BomiBox has detailed info cards for each box on their website. The info card provides a description of all the items included in the box and instructions on how to use them. This is clutch since a lot of the products have instructions that are not in English.
Etude House Bubble Tea Sleeping Pack in Strawberry, 3.5 oz - Retail Value $13.20
This bubble tea sleeping pack comes in super cute packaging. The product contains a strawberry gel and moisture capsule bubbles. Use the spatula to scoop out a bit of gel and one or two of the moisture bubbles. Rupture the bubbles, apply to your face overnight and rinse with warm water in the morning. This night mask is said to aid in skin moisture, elasticity, and firmness. I really enjoyed using this product. It smells great and my face felt amazingly soft in the morning.
Keep Cool Soothe Phyto Green Shower Cleansing Water, 3.38 oz – Estimated Value $2.00 (buy a 16.9 fl oz. bottle for $10.00)
This cleansing water has a slight acidity level (pH 5.6) and removes makeup, cleanses, and moisturizes in one swipe. In addition to water, this cleanser contains natural and calming ingredients like green tea, flower, and rosemary leaf extracts. To use, apply to a cotton ball and gently wipe your face. I used this cleansing water to remove my makeup. It came off easily and didn't leave my skin dry or irritated.
Glowhill Spot Perfume Brush in Peony & Blush, 0.24 oz - Retail Value $15.00
A perfume brush? I didn't know such a product existed! This spot perfume brush is portable and would travel well. With a turn and a push of the button, a perfumed gel is dispensed on the brush to be applied to your wrist or wherever you'd like. I generally don't enjoy floral scents but this perfume smells quite literally like a bouquet of freshly picked flowers. It's such a sweet and lady-like scent that I can't help but love it. My husband loves it too!
CP-1 Premium Hair Treatment, 25ml - Retail Value $9
This hair repairing treatment functions much like a conditioner. After shampooing, apply the product to your hair for 10-15 minutes. Apply heat for a more intense treatment. The quinoa extract and protein smooths, detangles, and repairs tired strands.
Rovectin Skin Essentials Barrier Repair Cream Concentrate Mini, 0.3 oz – Estimated Retail Value $5.52 (buy a 45ml tube for $28.00)
I'll be honest and say I have no idea what to do with this product! The info card says that it enhances skin quality of life and tolerability from extremely stressed skin conditions. It's intended to be applied to areas of very dry skin, face, and neck. My guess is that it's an intensive moisturizer. It's creamy, thick, and fragrance-free.
Benton Snail Bee High Content Steam Cream, 0.42 oz – Estimated Value $4.77 (Buy 1.76 oz for $20.00)
Hydrating snail mucus and collagen-producing bee venom? Why not?! This is by far the most interesting beauty product I've received in a box. It's also a steam cream blended using high temperatures and steam technology. It's meant to be applied to cleansed skin and goes on clear and fragrance-free.
Heimish All Clean Balm, 5 ml – Estimated Retail Value $0.75 (Buy 120 ml for $18.00)
This sample sized cleansing balm was included as a bonus item in this month’s box. The balm has shea butter, herb oil and coconut extract to help gently remove make-up and moisturize, soothe and soften skin.
Hyggee All In One Tightening & Firming Mask – Retail Value $4.50 (Found here for $4.00)
I am excited to try this face mask! It has collagen and camellia japonica essence which promotes skin tightening and firming in only 20 minutes.
Package Sweet Dreams Deep Sleeping Mask - Retail Value $3.50
This mask sounds perfect for relaxation and recovery. It’s infused with shea butter and jojoba oil for moisture and lavender which is a very calming scent. It’s intended to be applied before bedtime for a restful night’s sleep.
The Verdict: This box was awesome! With maybe the exception of the Rovectin repair cream (which I’m still confused by), I loved and will likely use every item in this month’s box. The peony perfume and the bubble tea products are my favorite. I loved the keep cool soothe water too and I can never get enough facial masks. This box cost $37.99 and has an estimated retail value of $58.24. I believe this is a fair value for the opportunity to try a wide range Korean beauty products.
