Here are the full details:

1. What are Lucky Bags?
Lucky Bags are mystery bags of beauty products (plus extra surprises if you’re really lucky). This year, we’re offering four types of Lucky Bags:
• Original Lucky Bag ($75 for $150+ of products)
• Lucky Bag XL ($150 for $350+ of products; available in the U.S. only)
• Get One, Give One (buy one Original Lucky Bag at $150 and we’ll donate two more Lucky Bags to teens at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital)
• Jeffree Star Cosmetics Lucky Bag ($75 for $150+ of JSC products)

2. What is a Get One, Give One Lucky Bag?
This year, you can do good with your Lucky Bag purchase. If you buy a Get One, Give One Lucky Bag, you’ll receive one Lucky Bag for yourself, and a second will be donated to teens at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital. Even better, we’ll match every donation, so you’ll get to donate two Lucky Bags with your purchase.

3. What will I get in my Lucky Bag?
Lucky Bags are filled at random, so there’s no way to know what your bag will contain—it’s a surprise! Rest assured that your Lucky Bag will include $150 or more of products. All XL Lucky Bags will include $350+ worth of products.

4. Can I choose which products/brands I receive in my Lucky Bag?
Original and Lucky Bag XL are filled at random with products from various brands on Beautylish. Every Lucky Bag is a surprise—that’s part of the fun! Jeffree Star Cosmetics Lucky Bags are filled with Jeffree Star Cosmetics products only.

5. Will my Lucky Bag or Lucky Bag XL include products from Jeffree Star Cosmetics?
Lucky Bag and Lucky Bag XL may include Jeffree Star Cosmetics products. The Jeffree Star Cosmetics Lucky Bag will include only products from Jeffree Star Cosmetics.

6. Will my Lucky Bag include products that don’t normally ship to my country?
Your Lucky Bag will only contain products that are eligible to ship to your country. Our normal international shipping restrictions apply.

7. Will my Lucky Bag include products that work with the skin tone I choose?
Lucky Bags are filled at random (it’s part of the fun!), so we can’t guarantee the contents of your bag. However, we try our best to make sure that Fair-Medium Lucky Bags contain products that complement fair to medium skin. Dark-Deep Lucky Bags contain products that are better suited for deeper skin tones. We don’t include foundation or concealer in Lucky Bags.

8. Do Lucky Bags include gift cards? What happens if I lose my gift card?
Some extra-lucky Lucky Bags come with Beautylish gift cards. If you receive a gift card, treat it like cash—we’re unable to issue a credit should you lose it.

9. How many Lucky Bags can I purchase?
You can purchase one Lucky Bag every year. Please note that we limit one Lucky Bag per order, customer, shipping address, and payment method.

10. When will I be charged for my Lucky Bag?
You will be charged right after you place your Lucky Bag order.

11. Can I use Flexible Payments to pay for my Lucky Bag?
Sorry, Lucky Bags are not eligible for Flexible Payments at this time.

12. Can I purchase a Lucky Bag if I have an open Flexible Payments order?
Yes. However, if you have a past-due payment on an open Flexible Payments order, you will not be able to order a Lucky Bag.

13. Can I return or exchange my Lucky Bag?
All Lucky Bag sales are final, so they’re not eligible for refunds, returns, or exchanges.

14. Do I have to pay for shipping?
We charge a flat-rate shipping fee for Lucky Bag, Lucky Bag XL, and Jeffree Star Cosmetics Lucky Bag. This allows us to include more products in each Lucky Bag while keeping the price below retail value. The shipping fee varies by destination:
• United States: $10 for original Lucky Bag; $15 for Lucky Bag XL
• Canada, Australia, New Zealand, UK, Germany & France: $15
• Everywhere else*: $20
Shipping is free for all Get One, Give One Lucky Bags.
*Lucky Bags are not available in India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, and Thailand at this time.

15. When will I receive my Lucky Bag?
Lucky Bags ship on or before January 21, 2019. Shipping times vary by location. The estimated date of delivery will be displayed during checkout. We ship via economy service so that we can keep costs low and include more products in your Lucky Bag. International orders may be subject to customs clearance procedures, which may cause further delays.

16. Can I order other items with my Lucky Bag?
Lucky Bags must be purchased on their own, but feel free to place a separate order for any other items you need.

17. I live in California, Pennsylvania, or Texas. Will I be charged sales tax?
Yes, Lucky Bag orders shipped within California, Pennsylvania, and Texas will be charged applicable sales tax.

18. I live outside the U.S. Why can’t I order a Lucky Bag XL?
Due to shipping restrictions, the Lucky Bag XL is only available within the United States.

19. I live outside the U.S. How do duties and tax work?
You will be charged duties and tax at checkout. Duties and tax are calculated based on the subtotal of your Lucky Bag.

20. Do you ship to my country?
We ship Lucky Bags to all countries listed here except for India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, and Thailand. Please note that Lucky Bag XL is only available within the United States.

  1. Ok ..so I know that Juno & Co products don’t compare to these, but I just thought I would mention that they have a Lucky Box out right now that is $25 for up to $100 worth of products. If you are a first time customer you can sign up and get 20% off so it’s only $20 with free shipping over anything $15!!! I think it’s was a great deal and I grabbed one! They ask your skin tone too

  2. Very disappointed in Beautylish this year. I spent well over $1000 throughout the year, got my early notice and in less than a moment as I clicked order it was sold out. Emailed and was told they sold within a minute. Sorry but if a company hypes up an item like this they should have enough to go around. The bags are randomly made so what did they do? Deplete their store?
Will think twice before I buy from them again. That is not how a good store should handle their customers!

  3. I was ready right at 9 and xl already sold out. I emailed them to see if some purchases do not go thru if there was a chance to upgrade my regular to xl. There isn’t but I was told it was crazy and they sold out of xl bags in 1 minute. I am still happy to have at least have purchased a regular bag.

  4. I wonder how many people bought the BOGO by mistake. Comments should be interesting when people get 1 regular bag.

  5. I got the xl bag. You need to have your info already in there and click on the link as soon as you receive it and buy it without hesitation. I finished all those step in 30 secs.

    • Same here I was done in under 30 seconds.

    • I think I went through it in thirty seconds and I still didn’t get it. I got up to the very last screen.

      • I had all my info entered ahead of time, I got to the last screen in under fifteen seconds and still did not get one. Very disappointed. It is only makeup but I really wanted an XL bag!

  6. They just restocked XL bags

    • The above link says sold old on XL but if you go to your email and click the link Beautylish sent you, they restocked. FYI

      • Sold out.

        • Well that sucks, haha. Thanks for trying 🙂

          • No Lori, their not sold out yet. I was replying to my typo of sold old. Go try… I hope you get one. I was disappointed because I recieved early access and XL was already sold out. And my heart wanted to buy one and give one to someone in need. But I think it was sold out to everyone. But after I ordered the 75.00 bag and just rechecked the XL bag is now available. But I don’t think I can get it if I bought the 75.00 bag. Does anyone know if you can purchase one of each?

          • If you want to order another Lucky bag, you have to do it with a different name, address, and form of payment. All three must be different from your original order. Good luck either getting an XL bag! I know they usually come in & out of stock in the first couple of hours. 🙂

          • I tried replying earlier this morning, but it looks like it hasn’t been released yet so I’ll try again… You can get another bag, but you have to use a different name, address, and form of payment, plus I’m pretty sure email address too. All must be different from your original order.

        • I don’t have the email, just the above link. The FAQ says you can only buy one per year.

          • Thanks girls. I only ordered one. I just wish it wS for the XL. But XL was sold out as soon as I clicked the link they sent. But after about 10 min they were in stock but I had already bought the 75.00 one because I didn’t want to miss at least that opportunity. Oh well, I hope everyone who wanted a bag got one. Merry Christmas. And thanks darling Luna, youralways a great help.

  7. XL was sold out when I got my early access link but I snagged a regular one.

  8. I clicked on the link in my e-mail the SECOND it came through and I had my address and payment information pre-entered on the Beautylish site. I put the XL bag in my cart and when I checked out it said they were sold out. So disappointed. I could not have done it all any faster. I managed to get a regular bag and I am happy about that (it is only makeup, after all!) I don’t understand how some people scored the XL bags unless my internet connection is just too slow (I have satellite). Then because I was getting the Lucky bag one of the items I really wanted in the FFF edit sale sold out. Why did they have to start at the same time? I think I may have a shopping problem. 🙂

    • They have “prime members” – people who spent $1000 during the year, they had access to bags before anyone else, that’s why all XL bags are sold out. Last year was same thing.

      • But a poster here said they got one and they were not one of the “prime” members. So some were able to get them.

      • I’m not a prime member and it was available when I clicked on it. But I instantly had buyers remorse so I backed up and got the $75 bag instead.

    • Same happened to me, was able to put the XL in my cart and check out with saved info and poof, sold out. Oh well, the regular one is better for my pocketbook and I don’t really actually even need anything. Here’s hoping we get lucky!

  9. I somehow managed to snag an XL Lucky Bag! I have no idea how that happened, since I most certainly did not spend anywhere near $1000 on Beautylish this year. Hope everyone who managed to get a bag has amazing luck with their products!

    • I’m so jealous! (But happy for you!) Read my comment to see how hard I tried!

      • Yeah I was stunned that I snagged one this year. So shocked that I didn’t actually believe it until I got the confirmation email from Beautylish.

Last year I logged in for the early but not early early access and the XL were sold out.

It reminded me of when I managed to snag tickets to the Springsteen solo concert at a small venue. Not only did I get the tickets but they were in the sixth row and I was surrounded by celebrities who I am absolutely sure got their prime seats through connections. 😂

        • Same! I thought it was a fluke until I received the confirmation email.

        • Great analogy

    • Same here – I’ve been hoping for the XL for last 2 years! So stoked 🙂 I went in the second I received the link and snagged one. By the time I checked out and went back in they were sold out.

  10. Last year I only managed to get the regular size bag and it was a good value.

The Wayne Goss eyeshadow brush and Becca under eye concealer/brightener were fantastic.

There was also a beautiful Jouer highlighter palette which would have been fantastic if I didn’t have so many other highlighters from beauty boxes – I couldn’t use them in three lifetimes :-). But it would make a beautiful gift to someone without highlighter overload.

As I recall, there were some really exceptionally nice Lucky regular size bags which I guess is part of the fun of the tradition – it’s a big deal in Japan.

I wouldn’t spend $75 or $150 if it wasn’t purely discretionary income though. A good part of it is purchasing the experience so it’s like going to a nice restaurant or other relatively expensive experience. If one actually “wants” products, it makes much more sense to just purchase exactly what you want or need.

  11. I had an XL bag in my cart but by the time I entered all my info it was sold out. I did get a regular bag. My first Lucky Bag experience. Hoping for some Charlotte Tilbury items. Fingers crossed.

    • Same thing happened to me. I got excited it was in my cart and when I tried to checkout it said sold out. Got the regular one.

  12. First time buying buying one; I picked the wrong one I thought I was getting the xl but it was for the bogo for charity.

    • I have a feeling we are going to see a lot of people who got the BOGO by mistake.

      • I think we’re also going to see a lot of people who got that BOGO bag thinking it’s an XL size when it isn’t, or who think that they’re receiving two bags themselves.

        • That’s what I meant I have already had to explain to 2 people that it was for original bag not xl. Actually I had to explain to both twice.

          • Yep, I can’t wait for the salty instagram comments. lol

I’m perfectly happy with the original bag I snagged. I understand why the people who spent a lot with Beautylish over the last year and didn’t get early access were upset, but all the other people who are being greedy need to calm down. It’s just makeup.

  13. I got on of the regular size…XL gone. With shipping and tax it came out to over $90…sure hope it’s worth it!

  14. I still cannot get to the link and I am on a laptop now. Any ideas?

  15. Tried to get an XL bag at 9 am, but it sold out, so I got a regular bag. I’ve done it twice before and have been happy; they always include a high end palette and a nice assortment.

  16. The regular size bags are still available.

I got really “lucky” and scored an XL bag even though I wasn’t in the highest priority. Hope that it’s as good as the XL bags were last year.

  17. I had an XL bag in my cart almost instantly after I got the email and they sold out before I checked out. Dang it! I got a regular bag and my expectations for it are low.

    • Exact same experience here! I managed to score an XL bag last year, but was sorely disappointed as I didn’t get a big ticket palette or fancy brush set – my highest value item was the oribe kit found in the regular bags, it was more like two regular bags squished together. I’m hoping that my regular bag this year is extra lucky to make up for it!

  18. Purchase option not open

  19. XL bag is sold out. I was watching my e-mail like a hawk and clicked on the link the seconds after I received but, but XL bag is sold out. Disappointed.
Ordered small one, but just to try for experience.

    • Wow how disappointing! Not even worth the time.

      • They just restocked XL bags

  20. That link doesn’t allow you to buy anything. It just takes you to the guy that says early access sign ups are now closed. 🙁

    • Same here. Does that mean they are all sold out?

      • I think it just means that unless you actually had early access you’ll have to wait until the public access opens in 45 minutes.

        • Thank you! I will try again!

      • I’m using a desktop and I have the same result as the OP

        • I got it to work. I went back up to the link for the original lucky bag while I was on the desktop, clicked that, and it worked. Yay!

      • Yeah, I just tried it on my work desktop and still got the same thing. The guy holding the shopping bags and the signups are closed message.

        • OK updated with the exact link they sent us via email. That should work. Let me know. Sorry!

          • That one works!! Hooray!

      • I was able to get a bag using my mobile, that’s all I have otherwise I wouldn’t have been able to get the bag lol!! I had the XL bag in my cart and I accidentally hit the back key and by doing so I went back for the XL bag and it was sold out!! To be honest it might have been sold out anyway by the time I got to check out and I had early access!! Oh well I got one 1st time ever and I’m hoping for a lucky lucky bag!! I have to skip a few of my boxes for January to make up for the expense lol!! I’m excited and can’t wait to get my bag.
