Each box comes with a booklet detailing the items included and why the Allure Beauty Editors selected them. (This box was curated with the help of NikkieTutorials!)

Now, on to the items!

Ofra NikkieTutorials Everglow Highlighter – FULL SIZE! Retail Value $35

The pigment/shimmer in this highlighter is amazing! And you get three different shades you can blend together or isolate: frosty white, neutral shimmer, and sunset copper.

A little goes a long way, so this highlighter should last me forever! (Swatched in lower photo.)

LA Splash Art-Ki-Tekt Waterproof Slim Eyeliner – FULL SIZE! Retail Value $14

This liquid eyeliner goes on with a fine tip and once it dries it stays put. I was surprised it wasn't a more inky/pigmented line, but I just drew over the line again to get a dark black line.

(Swatched with two swipes in lower photo.)

Nyx Lip Lingerie in Cabaret Show – FULL SIZE! Retail Value $7

This liquid lipstick is a pretty good nude shade for my lip color. It borders on brown, which is not the most flattering for me, but I like this for an everyday low-makeup look. The formula stays put once it dries, too. Highly pigmented, matte finish, full coverage, and I didn't find it to be too drying either. (I always use lip balm with liquid lipsticks, though!)

Juvia’s Place The Nubian Eyeshadow Palette – Mini Size Retail Value $5

This brand is new to me, and I am so impressed with the quality of the eyeshadows (especially considering the price point!)

This mini palette includes 6 shades (three shimmers and three mattes.) The pigment is excellent, and the shades were easy to blend. This warm neutral shade family is very wearable for me, too.

Here it the palette swatched beneath the liner and the lipstick, and above the highlighter:

Bliss Eye Got This Holographic Foil Eye Masks (set of 2) Retail Value $8

(Subscribers will either receive these or Bliss Peel-Off Mask or REN Evercalm Overnight Recovery Balm)

I'm really liking the rebranding/new product design of Bliss. Their products are now all ingredient-conscious, and the price points are lower! And how fun are these holographic star eye masks?

Here they are out of the package?

To be honest, when I see a skincare product that has sparkles/glitter/holographic shimmer, etc, I assume it is gimmicky and more about selfies than science. But I gladly put these on to test them, and I was pleasantly surprised with the results! They dried within the 20 minutes I was wearing them, and I think I noticed a subtle improvement in puffiness and dark circles. Subtle as in I still need heavy-duty undereye concealer, but I'll definitely buy more of these!

Neutrogena Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelette Single – Bonus

OMG, this makeup remover single pack is TINY! I had to take a picture of it in hand just so you could see how tiny:

This is an American Girl sized prop! Here's how these singles come packaged:

I can appreciate the benefit of not having to take an entire pouch of makeup wipes in your purse, but this solution still seems like a bit of waste of packaging? Also, the one packet I had was pretty difficult to open. (The makeup wipe itself was good, though!)

Verdict: This box has a value of about $69! I think that's a great value for a $15 beauty box. I loved the curation this month - and I really appreciate that Allure is continuing to send us new brands/products I haven't seen in subscription boxes before. And so much full-sized makeup!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Yes! As of publication, this box is still available. To make sure you get this as your first box, scroll down this page to make sure you see these products featured.

Is the eyeliner completely rubbing off for anyone else? I can’t even see the eyeliner on my eyes at the end of the day and ‘it’s happened each time I’ve tried it. I like the eyeshadows. The lip product is completely drying like most liquid lipsticks. I wonder if these are truly their great finds, or if they’re just products they get deals on to include the box.

I love my Allure sub. 3 full sized items for only $15 if you are paying full price. I hate it when peeps accuse Allure or other major beauty brands of lying and scamming. They did not become the huge brand they are by deceitful practices. Ppl just wanna dis them and throw hissy fits when (God forbid) they get a product not to their liking. Well, that is gonna happen! Allure gives a great value box with much fewer repeats and higher end brands than anyone out there. I actually like December’s box. January and February look fine to me as well.

Bella

It’s January 04 and my December box finally arrived! I’ve been a subscriber for three years, so it’s not an address problem. This is crazy late. The only product I’m excited about is the Bliss mask. The eyeshadow palette is a mess! The palette was well packaged but the top layers of the shadows crumbled in transit. Did anyone else receive one like this?

miniso911

yep. my eyeshadow was shattered as well as the highlighter.

Tat

FINALLY got a delivered text.

Does anyone know if the ‘bonus’ ships with this box or if it shipped separately?

Reply ButtonReply

Aria

Anyone know if the purple nail polish I got in my box was my “new person gift”?

Reply ButtonReply

Nat

Probably. I got my new person gift in my 1st box. Actually it says in the little magazine that comes with the box that if it’s your 1st, your new gift will be in the box

Tina Serene

I jumped on the Caudalie bonus and it came in my December box.

Reply ButtonReply

Tat

I didn’t receive the eyeliner! The one of two things I wanted. Nor any of the sign up bonus products.

I sent an email requesting a replacement.

Nat

My bonus came in my 1st box. It was body glitter.

This was a really disappointing box. Agree with others on the monochrome theme of orange/ “bronze”- it’s too much. And on my fair skin in winter, the colors just don’t work for me. I will try the peel off mask and the eyeliner. Oh well, here’s hoping to a better match in January

i was so exited to tray that ofra highlighter…but it´s really weird on me,the strange effect i’ve only ever seen with fotofocus foundation (wet & wild), a dry texturized, oily patch. its good if youre going to a bar or party on the night, but horrible on white lights in school or officee even light-handed applied. i really loved the juvias place, the eyeliner and the ren balm, not a fan of liquid lips but not that terrible

T.Marie

Why the heck can’t sign-up without subscribing to their magazine???!!!

Reply ButtonReply

Nat

What? I am not subscribing to Allure magazine, but I am getting this box

Allure is the best value of all of the $15 and under beauty boxes. Although I won’t use most of this box, it is still worth the price. Unfortunately my dumb*** decided to try the Bliss peel off mask… not a good idea for my old skin. For the past three hours, I have been layering Dr Jart Tiger Grass repair on my cheeks. The lip product is nice. I use a lip balm under it and it goes on much better. I am not a black eyeliner gal, but I might give this one a try. My daughter snatched up the highlighter. If you haven’t watched the Nikki Tutorials, she is amazing with these products. I wish I could have her come over and show me how to contour myself some cheekbones…lol.

Totally disappointed in this box. Why do such bronzy colors for the ENTIRE box? Was hoping for a nice special Christmas box….but I felt that way with all my subs, and was pretty disappointed with most of them! None of these items are anything I would use. Hoping for a good January box!

I still have not received mine. I know its the holidays but seems like everyone already got theirs. Anyone in the same boat as me?

Whitney Tucker

I still haven’t received mine either..

I still haven’t received mine.

I’ve been following the tracking on mine. It was supposed to be delivered on Christmas Eve and was in Portland (where I live), but somehow got sent to Des Moines, IA! So now it’s slowly making its way back to Portland. Last check it was in Seattle. 🙄🙄

AmberC

I got mine on Christmas Eve. Initially, this box was the least exciting for me, and I had planned on skipping until they put out the SR promo.

Anywho, when I opened everything up, I was still pretty “meh” on the contents. But then I decided yesterday to give it a shot, and I did a whole face look with the box contents, and I will say, I really really liked it.

The eyeshadows were really pretty and blended together beautifully. The eyeliner pen was amazing. The only one so far that I’ve ever been able to create a wing with. The brownish lip stuff was not horrible at all, and didn’t even give me the 90s look I was dreading. It dried matte and stayed on pretty well, and wore off evenly. I used a smidge of the highlighter, and it was subtle and lovely. My daughter used the peel-off mask and was happy with it. The single wipe cracked me up.

Good for you that you were willing to try it out. Sometimes it seems like people ppl are negative when I bet they didn’t even try something out at all or weren’t willing to go out of their comfort zone and try something new, off the beaten path. For me, that’s the whole point of it! If you are stuck on certain ways and products, why even subscribe? Obviously, if you don’t like what they send after a trial period, unsub. Easy peasy right? I happen to love Allure and realize they use the info they gather as data to decide on products to include through crunching numbers, like how many subbers have blond hair or dry skin etc. With thousands of subbers I highly doubt they have time to look through every profile every month. There are shipping deadlines to meet among other things. Anyway, hope you get some desirable items in all your boxes and keep on experimenting girl!

I usually love Allure boxes – have been getting them since they were Sample Society. This one is a total miss for me. Seems to have been designed for teenagers … or someone who looks like Nikkie (I assume that’s her picture on the cover of the booklet) – very young and VERY made up. That’s not me. Oh well. I’ll throw the Neutrogena towelette in my travel bag – I sometimes buy those at Costco – and try to give away the rest of it.

Jennifer Fricks

Something is wrong with their links. I clicked on the Monthly Subscription box and it took me to their yearly magazine subscription instead. 🙁

Reply ButtonReply

Gidget

Somehow my box got here today! Thankfully! I got the Bliss peal off mask. A second win for the teenager in my house. She gets that & the highlighter. Although this is my personal least favorite box of the year, I’m gifting it all. My niece wants the “basic b!+ch” and horrible brown lip color and the black eyeliner. The only thing I will be using is the single use makeup wipe. Lol! Had I gotten the REN, I would have used that too. Looking forward to January!

Reply ButtonReply

Jenn

I got mine today and this is my least favorite box of the year. The only product I’ll use is the Bliss (and luckily I got the peel mask, which I much prefer to eye pads!). Highlighter, brown lip, bronzer and liquid liner are my top 4 hated products. So at least there wasn’t any bronzer though the eyeshadows are all bronze-ish. lol

Reply ButtonReply

Gidget

I hear that! My niece calls the eye shadow a “basic b!+ch” pallet! Lol! I got the Bliss peel off mask too. Glad I didn’t get the eye pads. I have enough of those. The only thing I will be using is the single makeup wipe. Gifting the rest.

Reply ButtonReply

marie

i didnt get the glitter eye patch…. and this was the item I was looking forward to trying! Instead, I received a lip balm.
This is my very first Allure box, but do Allure send random items so you don’t really know which ones you are getting until you receive it, like Ipsy and Birchbox? I thought this would be more like Sephora play, where everyone gets the same stuffs each month.

Reply ButtonReply

SBR

What lip balm? Maybe it was your new subscriber gift….? What items did you get?

Reply ButtonReply

Pink5

Got my box yesterday.

Got the Bliss peel-off mask, would have really preferred the Ren.

The NYX color is one of the matches my lips shades. Really incredibly tired of those.

The palette is not nearly as brown as it photographs, so there’s hope.

REALLY sick of getting black liquid liners.

The card for next month’s spoilers was kind of weird. The Amika Soulfood mask is a haircare item, so that’s something. Hopefully there’ll be enough for my long hair. The Doucce lip crayon will be a nice red at least.

I can’t tell if my highlighter pan is rusted without taking it apart. Also getting tired of getting highlighters. I don’t use them.

Reply ButtonReply

Gidget

My box just now left their warehouse! Safe to say I’ll be lucky if it gets here before the new year. It’s definitely not going to be here before Christmas!

Reply ButtonReply

Cheryl

Still waiting on my box as well: received an email that it was “shipped” on 12/14…12/22 today and no box. It seems to sit at the “shipping partner” for 2-3 days each stop–it’s been to 3 of these facilities and still not with the post office. I’ve only been a subscriber for 3 months, and there’s been a problem each month. As much as I think the boxes are worth it, the frustration is not–thinking of cancelling.

Reply ButtonReply

DawnS

Oh boy I just emailed them as I usually get my box at the beginning of the month and I still do not have it. Now reading your post I am even more bummed.

Reply ButtonReply

Gidget

I have no idea how it happened, but somehow, my Allure box is out for delivery today!

Gidget

My box has gone from the allure warehouse in Glendale Heights IL to the post office in Elk Grove Village IL today. Woo hoo!!! I was hoping to have that highlighter by Christmas…

Shawn

I noticed that I was billed $16 for the box this month. Not the normal $10 plus tax. Did this happen to anyone else? I not happy at all.

Reply ButtonReply

Nat

The regular price is $15 + tax. $10 is only first one

Reply ButtonReply

Shawn

I’ve been charged $10 for the last three years.

Anneliese

Received my box today and the Ofra highlighter has rust on the pan. I’ve seen a ton of other complaints online regarding this. Sent an email to Ofra and to Allure. Anybody else receive a rusty highlighter? 😔

Reply ButtonReply

Mandy

I don’t even know if my pan is rusty, my highlighter was completely shattered though.

Reply ButtonReply

Raven

Mine was completely shattered as well, thankfully the bubble wrap it was in contained the pigment but evidently did nothing to protect it.

Kirsten

I haven’t received my box yet but I’ll be on the lookout for rust on the highlighter pan. Did you receive a response from Customer Service??

Reply ButtonReply

Anneliese

Not yet. They say allow 48 hours so we’ll see if they do! 🙁

amanda

Me too. Allure customer service is a fail though, so don’t know if I’ll attempt to contact.

Reply ButtonReply

Gidget

I got a shipping email yesterday. That’s just a tracking number. USPS does not have my package yet. It’s the 18th. Don’t think it’s going to be getting here by Christmas.

Reply ButtonReply

Sarah

I just now got my shipping email which means that it has not really shipped yet. The shipping label has been created. I do not see this box showing up before Christmas. I find allure to be worth the money but I am very tired of paying for it when they can’t seem to get it together. Later and later shipping and the variations!

Reply ButtonReply

Cat

I shuffle around makeup remover wipes based on which have some Target promo whenever I need to refill, so I don’t hate the Neutrogena wipes in general…however the single use packets in a bag horrifies me.

If someone needs to remove their makeup on the go often enough to warrant buying these regularly, they should just be buying a normal pack and keep them wherever. The amount of waste to have a single packet like that is absurd.

There are very few occasions where I need to remove a face of makeup and don’t have either a small travel or overnight bag, or a gym bag, or even at my work desk.

Overall, this box doesn’t hit a home run for me. I’ll use two colors of the highlight, the lippy doesn’t work for my fair skin and red hair, and I’m overloaded in warm tone shadows. I do love Juvia’s shadows though, and I love this mini size, it will also make a fun gift still! Even if I’m not digging this box as much, Allure almost always delivers for me in terms of products, it’s just an off month for me I guess!

Reply ButtonReply

Sara

Tru using those three highlight shades as eyeshadow. I used that as an easy go to look all of last summer.

Reply ButtonReply

Sara

*Try

Sarah

PREACH!!! LOL! Seriously! I have not gotten my box yet but judging by the picture, that is extra packaging for a single wipe. I actually have an individually wrapped Neutrogena makeup remover wipe from a hotel and it is much smaller than that. It’s just barely larger than an alcohol swab. The one in the allure box looks like a lot more packaging. I’ll hang onto this one to compare.
Depending on which skincare item I get, I may not use anything from this month’s box. Just not stuff I want but my girls do.

Reply ButtonReply

Melissa

I like the brands in this box but I am very fair with neutral, leaning towards pink undertones… I wish subs would send out COOL colors…silver, taupe, green eyeshadows… I love cool tones and not everyone can be “tanned and bronzey”!

Reply ButtonReply

Nicole McCollum

Exactly!! Me too!! Cool tones every other month so everybody gets and gives a little….everything is always Tor medium to deep skin tones, nothing ever for the other end of the spectrum. It’s quite sad 🙁

Reply ButtonReply

Samantha

I have a light to medium golden complexion, and every lipstick that’s mauve or mauve-like looks great on everyone but me. When I wear it, I look sick or like I don’t have a clue what colors I can pull off, cause it’s not this. They are “neutral” colors for other people, so constantly appear in boxes! Some other “nude” lipsticks are the same color as my lips, so those are also useless. Switching off tones sounds reasonable.

Kelli D

I totally agree! Just once I’d love to see something different. I’m still psyched to receive it but yeah a cool toned palette would have been a really nice surprise.

Reply ButtonReply

Sarah

I’m medium skintoned with pink and red undertones. So hard to find the right shades, isn’t it? Although I would like to try the eyeshadow pallet, I’ll be gifting it. Same with the lippy. That color will just make me look jaundiced. 😂

Reply ButtonReply

Ms peaches

My whole purpose for subscribing to beauty boxes is to try new products. Allure does a great job offering different products .Some items I like some I don’t..but its a excellent value.

Reply ButtonReply

Sarah

Exactly! Thank you for the reminder. I needed that. Even though I personally won’t like or use the products in December’s box, my girls will. I have a 17 year old at home, 2 grown nieces & 1 grandniece who is old enough for makeup. Between the 4 of us looking and being so different, nothing ever goes to waste. If none of us truly wants something, I do have donation boxes. I grabbed a couple of Target boxes just for the women’s shelter.

Reply ButtonReply

Pink5

If nothing else, if a product’s color doesn’t work for you, you at least get the chance to evaluate it on scent, how it feels on, how it wears, etc.

Though I am getting tire of pitching mauvey/nude/and similar lip colors because they don’t work on me and most of the other women I know don’t wear much makeup at all.
