Tee Up Accessory Subscription Box October 2018 Review
When I opened the box, I was greeted with a little golf humor: "My doctor told me to take iron every day and to live on green!" and when I flipped the card over I saw that they're offering $5 off of your next box if you provide feedback or a review. Check!
PUMA Golf 1/4 Zip Popover (Heather Gray, Size L) – Retail Value $65.00
Wow! Golfer or not, I feel you can always use a ¼ zip pullover in heather gray. In fact, I wore this shirt this past weekend to help a friend move. This shirt features warmCELL highly functional and breathable material that retains heat and maintains an optimum temperature in cold conditions. It's moisture-wicking fabric wicks away perspiration to promote a comfortable dry personal climate. It also has UPF 50+ protection from UVA and UVB rays!
Puma has thought of everything on this shirt – from the thumb holes to make sure that it stays in place while you’re swinging, to the fabric (94% polyester, 6% elastane), and the stand collar that adds neck protection. I couldn’t believe that I received this item in a $30 box, it’s over double the value of the box alone! Everything to follow is essentially gravy.
Here’s the shirt on, and a few images of the thumb hole detail.
Martini Step-Up Golf Tees 3 1/4" (5 Pack in Pink) – Retail Value $8.60
“The only Martini that improves your driving” – Ha! These “virtually unbreakable” Tees ensure a consistent ball height due to their martini base – always placing your ball at 1 ¾” above the ground. They are made from a polymer resin blend which lasts much longer than a wooden tee.
Callaway Supersoft Pink Golf Balls (3 pk) – Estimated Value $5.50 (buy 12 for $21.99)
Super Long | Super Straight | Super Soft The new Supersoft Pink Golf Ball is super long, super straight, and super soft with our lowest compression ball, a soft cover, and our new Premium HEX Aerodynamics.
These Callaway balls were redesigned and improved last year, but I’ve never had a chance to try them. They boast a bunch of great features – from improved core designed to promote faster ball speed and low spin for longer, straighter flight to the new Tri-onomer cover formulation to increase softness for a better feel and more shot-stopping wedge spin. Plus, they’re pink.
And here is the ball balancing on the Tee.
I love that these products are Non-GMO, GF, DF, Vegan, and Kosher!
Anytime Energy Bar in Cherries & Pistachios - Retail Value $2.65
Anytime Energy Bar in Chocolate Chip & Almond - Retail Value $2.65
To use: Eat when hungry. Don’t eat when not. Repeat if necessary.
The chocolate chip & almond bar is 200 calories and has 30g of carbs, 8g of fat, and 4g of protein. It is dense, not very sweet, and I’d describe it as a filling snack that you’d eat if you were hungry, not necessarily for pleasure. I thought it had almost a bitter or tobacco flavor to it, probably because of the very dark chocolate.
The cherries & pistachio bar is 210 calories and has 29g of carbs, 9g of fat, and 6g of protein. I liked this flavor better, especially the bites with the chewy, dried cherries that were a bit sweeter.
Anytime Hydration Mix in Lemon & Lime - Retail Value $1.25
Anytime Hydration Mix in Passion Fruit - Retail Value $1.25
Anytime Hydration Drink Mix is the same great product as our original Daily Electrolyte Drink Mix. We modified the name to make it easier to understand that you can drink it any time of day, for when you're thirsty but not sweating. Our Anytime Hydration Mix is designed to help you maintain an optimal level of hydration in that place between just sitting around and working out. You know... life. With just a hint of sweetness, it's flavored with only real fruit and contains no artificial sweeteners, coloring agents or preservatives. That means it has everything you need and nothing you don't. The result is a simple and clean taste that you'll actually enjoy drinking.
Here’s the powdered mix in the glass before I added 16 oz. of water to each. The Lemon & Lime is the white powder.
This is the lemon lime. To me, it’s pretty salty – almost like you could use this to chase a tequila shot. Probably not the intent of the product…
And finally, the passion fruit. I am passionate about how much I don’t like this flavor!
Verdict: This is my first Tee Up Box and I felt that it delivered my expectations. Receiving a high-quality shirt, and standard golf items (tees and balls) felt right. I probably could have done without the snack samples, but those are always fun to get, even if I didn’t really care for them, and I view them more like "bonus" items in my head. At $37.94 for this box ($29.99 + $7.95 shipping to the US), I calculated $86.90 in products, which is more than double the cost of the box.
To Wrap Up:
If I sign up today, will I get this box? No, your first box will be the November box.
