Tasu October 2018 “Welcome Fall” Review
Tasu includes a card describing the monthly theme. On the reverse is a list of what’s included with retail values. This month’s theme is Welcome Fall. The aim this month is to help ease the transition into cooler temps and drier air, something I think most of us could use a hand with!
This month Tasu invites subscribers to tag them in their posts on social media with the promise of a free bonus gift in their next box!
Nourish Cleansing Grains, 4 oz.— Listed Retail Value $16.00
My skin can sometimes get fussy, especially during the colder months. This mild cleanser is like a cozy bowl of oatmeal for the skin–in fact, it is even made with organic oats! The aroma is extremely mild, almost non-existent. It’s a great non-foaming, gentle cleanser.
Serenity Body Oil, 4oz. — Listed Retail Value $24.00
My skin responds better to oils versus lotions in the winter months, so I was excited to see this gorgeous bottle of 100% organic body oil included. The base is comprised of almond and safflower oils, scented with various essential oils. I have to admit that, to me, the aroma was very reminiscent of home cleaning products I’ve used. The correlation did not scream “serenity” to me. The oil was quite light and absorbed quickly though, which I was pleased by.
Yogi Blend Essential Oil Roll On, 10ml — Listed Retail Value $12.00
This gorgeous blend of aromatic oils is really lovely. I can feel a bit of tingle from the peppermint while the lavender, orange, and frankincense come together to create a calming scent. I really like this one!
Hangry Nut Mix, 110gm — Listed Value $5.00
My dad is the quintessential boy scout, so growing up the motto “be prepared” was threaded through much of my childhood. As an adult, it’s hard to leave the house without first checking to be sure I am, indeed, prepared for (almost) anything. This includes snacks! You won’t often find me without some sort of nut mix in my purse or my car (or both!) This particular blend of peanuts, raisins, sunflower and pumpkin seeds, cashews, and almonds is really satisfying.
Yoga Strap – Listed Value $10.00
The yoga strap is one of the most under-appreciated tools in the gym bag. It can help you get deeper into a stretch than you ever thought possible, as well as help you stay there longer. This 6′ x 1″ vibrant pink nylon strap is a good quality with two sturdy D-rings to lock in the desired length.
The Verdict: The packaging for the Tasu box products is so soft and pretty so I was surprised by the extreme brightness of the yoga strap, but I don’t love it any less. I wish the body oil had a scent I could associate more with soaking in the bathtub rather than scrubbing it, but overall I liked the items in this month’s box. The total value for this box based on the listed prices is $67. I think this box is a good value for $33.23 USD this month (CAD $35.99 plus $7.99 shipping).
To Wrap Up:
Value Breakdown: This box costs $33.23 USD, which means that each of the 5 items in the box has an average cost of $6.65.
