This pale blush tote is such an unexpected (and welcome) color for winter! And I am SO happy about a crossbody bag strap! It makes it so much more practical when I can wear a bag hands free!

How fun is this retro ’60s packaging?

I’ve sampled Amika many times thanks to Birchbox, and their hair products all smell amazing, so I was excited to see this in the box. It’s a smoothing balm that you can use on damp hair before blow-drying (or even as a light touch up cream on dry hair.) You only need a dime-sized amount, so this bottle should last for months, too!

Sunday Riley Luna Sleeping Night Oil – Retail Value $105

I can’t believe we get full-sized Sunday Riley Luna Sleeping Night Oil in this box! You could buy this box just for this oil at a discount and it’s like getting everything else for free!

This is a retinol oil that is designed to boost the look and feel of skin plumpness, while improving the appearance of wrinkles, redness, and pores for visibly younger-looking skin. Most retinol products aren’t oils, so this is a nice change, and I’m happy to report that it was gentle on my skin. Plus, my skin is extra dry thanks to winter weather, and this oil is very hydrating. (I really like the natural scent, too.)

Verdict: This box has a retail value of $480. That’s fab for $99.99! Even better with their $15 coupon! I think this might be my favorite Box of Style of all time – it’s almost all hero items! I love every single item, and while everything feels special and holiday appropriate, none of the items are winter-weather exclusive. This box should work in every season and climate!   1. my friend ordered this and received an email that the winter box oversold, so they can’t give her one unless she wants a partial box (i am assuming the select edition one). she didnt receive an email til yesterday (Jan 7). completely missed christmas with no notification. and why did the serum leak everywhere? were they not screwed on tight at the factory?

  2. So it’s January and I’ve never gotten my box. They also won’t respond to my customer service inquiries. It’s been a week and a half. Anyone else have the same problem? I’m an annual subscriber, since the day they started, so this is really disheartening. I am going to unsubscribe.

    • Check your credit card statement, I unsubscribed on 1/5 and they charged my credit card for the spring today!

  3. First I want to say thank you to Liz and this website for making reviews clear and I love how she shares her views honestly. I received my box with oil in bubble wrap and it did not leak! I will be happy to swap that and will wrap it tightly! The hair cream had no foil seal and it had a piece of scotch tape on the top to tape the lid….. loved the watch, ring and bag! I gifted the watch this Christmas and kept the ring. I also wrote to cancel my subscription which ends in February and was offered a $20.00 deal off. I think that spending this much on a box was expensive for me. So we shall see how this cancellation goes.

  4. DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT, TRY TO ADJUST THE RING WHATSOEVER TO FIT YOUR FINGER! I received my first BOS today and was so excited. The ring was a little loose for my finger, so I tried to adjust it slightly. Upon placing minimal pressure on the ring, it snapped in two! I’ve emailed Customer Service to see if there’s anything they’re willing to do, so I’ll have to wait and see. So disappointing for a piece of fashion jewelry with a supposed retail value in excess of $80. Just trying to spare other ladies the dismay of breaking something really pretty before they even get to wear it. 🙁

  5. Received my BOS yesterday. Like others have reported, the Luna oil was in bubble wrap and leaked; I could smell it the moment the box came in the front door. It leaked onto the watch box but didn’t ruin anything. I also ordered two add-on items, not included. I emailed customer service and received notice within the hour that another Luna was on its way (backed up with packing slip verifying). Also the add-on items. That said, I like this box. It’s not one of my favorites, but the winter boxes rarely are. I’m a fan of pink blush; it looks great with so many things. Didn’t really need another tote, but I’ll use this. The jewelry items are fun, but I’m not a watch wearer so might gift it. The ring is a little cheap looking (as are all items from this company, in my opinion), so it might go too someday. Luna oil smells strongly of tansy and maybe chamomile, but not so bad once it sets into your skin. A little goes a very long way. I’m willing to give it a go. Overall, BOS has been a hit more than a miss over the four years I’ve subscribed. And, at least for me, their customer service has come a long way.

  6. Last year I was so disappointed in my box. I passed this year,although I would love to have the purse. Last time my earrings broke within 5 minutes, the sprayer did not work on the Oshea?, and the chain on my purse had a kink on it. I did gift the mink scarf to Grandma Rosie and I think she liked it. But her boxes always have some cheap things that fall apart!

  7. What kind of response are you receiving from the company about the broken items? Given how often it’s happening and how it’s (not) protected, it’s certainly a packing defect.

    • I emailed them last week and have yet to receive any response. I don’t know that it is a packing defect- the bottles have been removed from the original packaging (box) that they come in if you get it directly from SR or buy in store. I am curious as to why these bottles are unpackaged- are they new, returns from SR? Super shoddy.

      • If they failed to do a reasonable job of securing breakable items for shipment, wouldn’t that be a packing defect? In other words, something they should be liable for.

      • Agreed- they are liable, especially if the oil damaged any other products. However, I am more concerned as to why the items are unboxed. My sister also receives BOS. Her Luna oil was in the original SR box, sealed closed. That’s what I want to know. This is going to be an expensive fix for BOS and/or SR.

      • So disappointing BOS didn’t learn last winter’s lesson about the oil leaking all over the place. Their customer service is horrendous and this box is a mess, it is terrible hearing the same thing year after year. I unsubscribed after last winter’s debacle in spite of liking the products featured. BOS consistently has problems and it needs a serious buyer beware warning instead of the constant promotions.

  8. My Luna lol came broken… it spilled all over the rest of my items in transit. Everything was box of style soup 🙁

    • My oil also leaked and stained everything. Not in original Luna oil box. The ring is so cheap looking with the center stone glued in poorly. Was going to gift most items but can’t now. 🙁

      • The ring looks like it is plastic. My sister received hers (broken in half) so she can see inside. Luv AJ sells other rings that are plastic, so it would not be a surprise

  9. I receive my box yesterday, and the Luna oil was not in the original box, instead it was thrown into a tiny bubble pack. The oil had leaked all over the box and onto other products.

    Not happy about it, but I loved all of the items. This was an excellent box, aside from the oil leak.

  10. I received mine today. The Sunday Riley wasn’t even packed in its original box. They threw it in a tiny bag and sent it out that way which let it become damaged and leak everywhere. Is it even a new bottle? Totally bummed as this was going to be a gift.

  11. Got one of my boxes today (I really do have a subscription addiction) and while a few days ago the Box of Style website listed the Editor’s box, I received the Winter box. The bag does have an odd odor, but it isn’t bent at all and the Luna did not come in a box. I really like the watch. I will definitely be wearing it during the holidays. The ring is (thankfully) more delicate looking than I thought it would be.
    In other news, I can now climb the stairs after my surgery, so I should be able to swap again soon. If anyone is looking for something from the Winter box, hit me up.
    Soooo glad they shipped the right box.

  12. Just checked my account and it lists my order as the Seasonal Membership with the ring included – not the picture of the other box with the ring additional, as before. So perhaps this has been fixed and we can all relax. No mention of the beauty bundle I’m supposed to be receiving, or any hint of shipping.

    • Just got my box, I ordered on Cyber Monday with the $40 off code. For $60 this box is absolutely amazing! I love the rose gold ring, and the tote and watch are gorgeous. I can’t believed there is also a full sized Luna oil and Amika product. They blew me away!

    • I ordered 11/9 and haven’t received a shipping confirmation. It’s a little frustrating that people who ordered weeks later are getting their boxes first.

  14. Well, I seem to be the odd man out. I am over the moon for this box! Just received it about 10 minutes ago. LOVE the rose gold ring. Absolutely love it. I am pretty sure that I would have immensely enjoyed either color. Can never receive enough high quality smoothing balm because I use it daily. And, excited to try the Luna pm oil. I’ve been using dry oils for body and face lately with much success. To each his/her own for opinions of the fabulous color and size tote and watch. I own a Rolex and several Prada bags and I would carry these two items in a heartbeat. I am not bothered by vegan leather. It’s very easy to clean and durable. If anyone wants to sell their tote, I’d be game to purchase for a gift. I think the blush tote color is extraordinary for winter–refreshing change of pace. I’m always using a tote for something or another–I don’t use these as purses, but an extra carry all. The size and shape is well chosen. The watch is fabulous with that ring, and it’s all of the sparkle needed with heavy winter clothes. I was thinking about gifting anything I couldn’t use– ZERO will be gifted. I’m keeping it all for myself. Love the added fun of the sweet little rose gold box and tissue paper. I’m so giddy right now.

  18. I’m EXTREMELY worried. I ordered on 11/9 and my order confirmation says my first box will be the Winter box, but I logged into my account and looked under “My Orders” and it’s showing the Select Edition box. Can someone who has received their box check their account and see what it shows? I’m really hoping it’s just a glitch, but I’m worried it’s not.

    • SAME HERE. No way to contact this company other than email. They are sending me repeat items after they oversold with deals and charged me full price. I am immediately disputing the charge

      • If there is an issue definitely email them. Note the date, time and copy and paste the email that told you, you were receiving the winter box and demand that is what you receive or you have an easy dispute because what they are sending is not what you paid for. When you’re spending over $50 you should get what was promised and having the email thread will help you both deal with BOS and your credit card if that’s what it has to come to.

      • I am not even a new subscriber. I already received these items and paid full price for this box, fool that I am.

      • I had this in my account, too. I just received my box today and luckily received my original order with the Luna. The oil wasn’t in a box, though, as others have mentioned.

      • Emails sent to this company go unanswered it seems.

      • I emailed right after ordering to verify that I was getting the beauty bundle (which now doesn’t currently show in my order) and they answered in a couple of days. I’ll give them perhaps 5 business days, then it’s time to dispute the charge on my credit card.

    • Good news! I just got a reply from them on Facebook. This is what they said, “Hi there , sorry for the mix up on our site, any renewing subscribers and new orders before 12/3 will be receiving the Winter Box ! We are updating the information on our site to reflect for those members now ! Your box will include the Sunday riley oil, Amika Hair Balm and the LUV AJ ring !”

  19. Got my box, everything was perfect except my Luna Bottle. It came in a bubble wrap, it was disappointed as I was planing on giving it as a Gift. I saw a you tube unboxing this morning and poor girl got a damaged bottle and a broken ring. So will have to double check in the bottle to make sure it’s full. That’s the only little big ooops about this box for me.

    • Me too. My Luna oil leaked all over as well and I have emailed BOS and sent photos. My sister received her box- her oil is in the Sunday Riley box that it is normally sold in and taped closed. But she did get the broken ring….. sigh….

    • I ordered winter + beauty bundle on 11/23 and now that I log in, it’s showing completely different items! It’s showing the Select Edition plus the ring that I selected. No beauty Bundle. No Sunday Riley. I think I am going to contact my credit card now and point to the others on here who also say they are getting a bait & switch too. I will never order from them again if they dont fix this. I have ordered for years.

  28. I can’t help but compare this box to the winter Happy Rebel. Both are $100, but 3 out of 5 items in this box have seriously inflated retail values (and while we don’t know the last item in HR yet, the first 3 spoilers/items are all quality and not inflated, as none of them are exclusives and sell at retail price). I might grab this box if there’s a really good BTBF deal, and I like the items, but I just hate the fact that BOS ALWAYS has “exclusives” with inflated values.

  29. BEWARE: I sent a cancellation request on Oct. 7th. Received a reply from Samantha on Oct. 10th that my account had been noted and would automatically be cancelled on Nov. 14th with an offer of $10 off if I decided not to cancel. Received another email on Nov. 9th from Team Zoe stating my account would be cancelled on Nov. 14th, offering me $20 off if I decided not to cancel. I did NOT accept either one of these offers. And guess what? I received an email today that my order is confirmed, and I was billed the full amount. I am furious. This is unacceptable and shady. I just sent them an inquiry about this. Hopefully, everything gets straightened out, but what a waste of my time. It shouldn’t be this difficult to cancel.

    • they really do make it so hard; at one point they did have a cancel button but it didn’t last for long – hope you were able to sort out, what a headache, been there as well….

  31. I recently canceled my BoS box for the same reason that a lot of commenters on here have mentioned – the “exclusive” items with an inflated retail price. It seems very scammy and the fact that their winter box has 3 out of 5 items that are ‘exclusives’ tells me I made the right decision. I feel that their box value has really deteriorated since launch. I hope they can get back on track and find high value items that aren’t exclusives. It also kind of defeats the purpose of a fashion subscription.

    This is the first time the real hero item in the box has been a skincare item.
