Pearlesque Box November 2018 Review

Pearlesque Box info card

Pearlesque Box product list

This month’s featured brand is Skin Owl. According to the info card, Skin Owl is a vegan, cruelty-free, 100% non-toxic skincare brand with three main goals:

  • To see results overnight.
  • Provide more than just skincare, but a core component of total self-care, too.
  • For women to feel like they had a safe haven to ask questions and receive quality advice about their skin.

The overnight results part is my personal favorite. I can be a little impatient with new skincare products, so the idea of an immediate difference-maker is huge for me!

Pearlesque Box beauty whip

Skin Owl Beauty Whip, 2 oz. – Retail Value $68.00

I don’t think I’ve tried a beauty mask quite like this one before. I’m used to clays and sheet mask facials, but this mask is almost like a lotion. The formula is light and milky to start, but the way it spreads over the skin feels almost like an oil.

The idea is to let this mask sit on the skin for about 30 minutes, then rinse the excess from your face. I don’t know if it’s just due to the dryness of my skin, but I didn’t feel like I had hardly anything left on my face when it was time to rinse! The formula soaks in so nicely, leaving my skin feeling soft, nourished, and with a happy, slightly dewy finish. (The kind of healthy sheen I get when I sweep the tiniest drop or two of vitamin E oil over my face.)

The mask has aloe, olive, jojoba seed, maqui berry, botanical hyaluronic acid, rosehip seed oil, and a slew of other skin-nourishing ingredients. I actually used it on my hands after having such great success with it on my face, and I have to say, even my hands felt fantastic after using it!

Pearlesque Box neck product

Skin Owl Neck+, 4 fl. oz. – Retail Value $68.00

This is the first neck-specific product I’ve used, but I like it a lot. I don’t think the two biggest creases on my neck are going anywhere fast, but the skin on my neck feels SO much more nourished, perky, and healthy after using this serum!

Pearlesque Box neck cream

They recommend you use it on wet skin, and I do think the formula soaks in a bit better when I put this on right after my evening shower. But I’ve patted it into dry skin in a pinch, too. (Like, I’ve literally patted it on in my car at a red light before!)

I’m hoping that adding this moisturizing product, which contains healing herbs, plant compounds, and even ocean minerals in it’s lightweight, watery gel formula, to my skin care routine will help my neck age more gracefully. I feel bad for neglecting it for so long!

Verdict: I’m so happy with the items I received this month! Especially in winter, bringing moisture back to the skin is so important. Both of these products not only felt fantastic going on, left my skin feeling noticeably happier throughout the day. The fact that Skin Owl products are made with natural ingredients is the icing on the cake!

  1. I think the Beauty Whip can also be used as an overnight mask (i.e. nightime moisturizer) too! At least that’s how I plan to use mine… no rinsing any of this beautiful product down the drain for me! 😉

    • I’m with you on the Luna. When the 20s hit I put this final step (not sure if Balm should be last) but wow in the morning.

  2. Nice box! I’m going to keep an eye on this one.

    • I’ve been getting this subscription off and on (though mostly on), for well over a year now and it is fantastic. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a natural skin care box. So nice!

      • Good to know, Thanks! I canceled Botanic and Terre when they went lifestyle and I am looking for a replacement. I’ve still got a ton of boxwalla supplies to work through, but they seem to be ‘night’ heavy and maybe this sub will fill in the day treatments.
