Gwynnie Bee October 2018 Review

This review is of the 3 items at a time subscription from 9/21 through 10/20.

CATHERINE CATHERINE MALANDRINO - Nyla Dress In Washed Stripe

I love the colors on this dress! I really like the abstract stripe pattern as well. This dress was super comfortable and lightweight, thanks in part to the sheer nylon outer layer. It was breezy and had a nice flow! I have had to learn the hard way, though, tulip hems don't work for me!

MELISSA MASSE - Short Sleeve Floral Fit And Flare Dress

I have to admit I was a little disappointed in this dress. It looks okay, but it is made out of a thin spandex blend, and it felt kind of cheap on. Also due to the thinness, I was too afraid of how much I might be revealing at any given time to actually wear it out of the house. It's too bad because it's a nice length and a pretty print.

DRAPER JAMES X ELOQUII - Balloon Sleeve Floral Draper James Shift Dress

I got SO MANY compliments on this dress, y'all! I wasn't sure I was going to even wear it, it's a little out of my comfort zone, but I thought why not? So I wore it to church and out that Sunday, and I seriously got rave reviews. I love the print, but the cut and the sleeves are what makes it super stylish. It's a lycra blend, too, which means it is forgiving but not completely stretchy. I am so glad I tried it! You never know!

VINCE CAMUTO - Gardens Kimono

I LOVE Vince Camuto's kimonos so much! Which is why I was really disappointed to learn that I had accidentally closeted the wrong size. I still wore it, and you can see it still looks okay, but I closeted a size down, totally on accident, and so it doesn't fit right. Oh well, maybe I can pick it up when it goes on sale in the GB Shop!

MODCLOTH - Navy Floral Fit And Flare Dress

Simple, comfortable, easy, flattering - this lined polyester dress was a winner! I really liked the print and felt that it had a bit of a slimming effect. I also love the color! Deep purple is probably my all-time favorite color.

LUCKY BRAND - Bell Sleeve Grey Floral Printed Top

This top is a crisp cotton blend and has a lot of cute and stylish details! I didn't feel like it was super special, but it was comfortable and easy to wear.

LUCKY BRAND - Reese Boyfriend In Bedias

These jeans are sooooo comfortable! They are not particularly flattering, but they are so loose and soft I could literally sleep in them. I think the distressed areas give them a bit of style, too.

ADRIANNA PAPELL - Tie Neck Geranium Maxi Dress

At the end of September it was still pretty warm here in Georgia, but by the time this dress came, it was starting to get chilly. I wore this lovely maxi dress with a long cardigan and it looked great, but one thing you absolutely have to do when you subscribe to Gwynnie Bee is to remember to keep your closet seasonal. I seem to forget to remove items from my closet at the beginning of every season and get at least one piece that is not seasonally appropriate. In any case, this lined polyester maxi dress was a success. I like the slits up the sides, too.

TOLANI - Short Sleeve Multi Print Tiffany Tunic Top

This cotton blend top was super loose and comfortable, which made it nice and easy to wear. It felt a little too big, though. I think the print is what saves it from looking tent-ish. It was also a bit summery, so I wore it with a jean jacket.

The Verdict: I love Gwynnie Bee! This month almost everything was a great fit and fun to wear! I was shocked by how much attention I got wearing the James draper dress, but it seemed to be really good attention/feedback, so I will take it! I love having the opportunity to try lots of different looks, especially some that are outside of my usual style. This was another good month!
