Your Bijoux Box September 2018 Fall Earrings and Necklaces Review

your bijoux box fall collection card

your bijoux box info card product list

Here’s the info card for the September collection. Apparently, this is their first-ever 24k gold “enrobed” collection. I assume that means plated? I appreciate that everything is fair trade and ethically sourced!

Exclusive Scarlett Disc Necklace

This Y-shaped necklace is made from a chain of sequin-sized metal discs. It’s not the kind of thing I typically wear, but I like the unique textural element the circle chain provides. The chain itself is about 16″ long with an additional 3.5″ of extender chain.

Exclusive Red Pear Marquis Necklace

Next up is this pendant necklace whose red gem was inspired by a 2018 Pantone color, according to the info card. (I was a little confused at first, as I mistook the phrasing as this being THE 2018 Pantone color of the year, but that color was Ultra Violet.) The shape of the charm reminds me of a cherry on a toothpick—something you’d see kicking around in a classy cocktail. While it’s not something I’d see myself wearing day to day, it WOULD be perfect for special occasions, like a fancy cocktail or holiday party, especially if I’m wearing something midcentury-inspired!

Scarlett Bar Earrings

These earrings share a name with the circle-chain necklace from earlier. The style, though, is somewhat different. There are no circles involved, but that’s not to say I don’t like them. I actually really like these lightweight earrings. Thanks to the chain reaching from the bar in the front to the stud in the back, they have the dynamism of a dangling earring, but they’re super easy to wear and somewhat understated. They also go with everything—I wore them at work AND to a show AND to a casual breakfast get-together and they went with everything from my button-down and nice trousers to a giant sweatshirt and sleek black leggings.

Bonus: Deepa by Deepa Gurnani Pearl Headband

This last item might be my favorite of the box. It’s a stretch headband bedecked with a bunch of beads, pearls, and rhinestone accents. I don’t have a ton of headbands, because my hair has been short for awhile (and I’ve found that when my hair is short, headbands like to slide all over my head—they don’t stay in place well). But I think I look awfully cute in this headband, if I do say so myself, and I feel like all the glitz is going to be perfect for the holiday season.

The Verdict: Your Bijoux Box tends to be a little glitzy for my taste, but I really did like the earrings and headband that I got in this month’s box. And as I mentioned, I could see wearing the red stone necklace with a few cocktail dresses in my wardrobe. The pieces have a gorgeous shine to them right out of the box. So far the earrings have held up over the week or so I’ve been wearing them around, but I’ll be interested to see if the 24k gold “enrobing” keeps the looks from tarnishing over time.

  1. I loved my box! The earrings and the Scarlett Disc neck are perfectly paired and will look really cute with most of my fall wardrobe. I’m especially excited about the Red Pear necklace. It’s going to be the perfect new addition for my December/Christmas wardrobe when I wear a lot of red and black.

  2. Mine hasn’t even shipped yet 🙁

  3. I get the no earrings option and the substitute was a cute shorter necklace with sparkly triangles dangling. I especially loved the Red Pear necklace.
