  1. You can now use code ESSENTIALS18 on a $175 purchase to get a beauty bag worth $280 🙂

  2. Honestly, it seems almost like paying that amount for the Fall Beauty Edit GWP they had last month. I love their GWP event, but I can’t justify $250 for this calendar…but I still want one.

  3. Charlotte Tilbury is now available too. I was going to get it but with Sephora now selling I am just going to get full sizes of the things I really want instead.

  4. This seems way over priced..

  5. The Harrod’s calendar just went live, it is really a bummer that they do not ship to the US 🙁 on the other site it is the most expensive I have seen so far with a price of $336 USD.

  6. You can sign up for notification about the Beauty Expert advent calendar for 2018. It’s 100 pounds, or $130., and you can buy it now, without spoilers. Shipping to the US varies (additional).

  7. This is best advent calendar this year so far, but I am not sure if I want to spend that much money right now. I still patiently waiting for Skinstore (you can buy it now, but I want to see spoilers) and BeautyExpert.
Also, I have 10 items sitting in my cart for edit sale totaling $130, therefore, additiional $260 would definitely damage my budget.

  8. If I get any of the advent calendars, it might be this. I bought just about everything last year and the year before. I’m on major product overload and purchasing fatigue. I’m not sure if I’ve become jaded but what used to excite me so much about advent calendars, I’m not feeling this year. I’m passing on Diptyque, Jo Malone etc. I’m still interested in beauty expert as theirs is all full size but I’m soooo over these samples.
    Luna, what’s on your list?

    • Im like a hawlk for the Diptyque one . However, I read somewhere that it does not includes candles??!!! And is just fragances?!

How would you compare Jo Malone vs Diptyque? Im at the point of just buying one candle from each store and be done with it.

      • Both Diptyque and Jo Malone have combinations of candles, fragrances and a few lotions and balms. I love candles and didn’t really enjoy most of the frangeantes because I have my favorites. I’ve decided I’m going to use the $390 to buy the candles that I want instead of the surprises I’m not that into.
Both brands are superb, it’s just a matter of your frangeante preference. The packaging at Jo Malone remains the most impressive in this category. I’ve had friends gasp as I hand their gifts. 😊
Both brands also have special gifting editions during holidays and they sell out quickly.
You’ll be happy with either one.

    • Hi Karen!
I’m surprised to read you’re not getting the Jo Malone & Dyptique calendars since I know those were your HG calendars in prior years. 🙂 But, I totally understand how one could feel product burnout (especially sample sized products). While I’m not feeling any burnout yet, I am starting to (finally!) have that sense of product overload, so I decided to narrow down my subs & calendars this year, and be incredibly more mindful & selective on any LE boxes I get. So in regards to the advent calendars, I’m just sticking to high-end/luxe multi-brand calendars this year. I was hoping to get the Harrod’s, Net-A-Porter, Liberty, and Space NK calendars, and maybe the Beauty Expert & Skinstore calendars (I need to see full spoilers first), but I’ll be perfectly happy with the two I’ve already purchased… The NAP & SNK calendars. 🙂

      • I think I’ll end up with Beauty Expert, Skin Store, SPK and NAP. Maybe if I can get Liberty, I’ll shoot for that one.
I’m going to wait it out a bit this year. I still have fragrances and candles from last years JM and Diptyque.
But I know I’m weak and I’ll blame the devil if I cave in but I’m resisting for now. 😀

        • Haha… I can relate! I’m actually quite interested to see which (and how many) calendars I actually end up with this year despite the few I listed. 😀

      • Luna, How will you get Liberty? I thought they do not ship to US? Thanks.

        • Well, the rumor is that they’re supposed to be shipping to the U.S. this year. While I’m cautiously optimistic about it being true, I’ll believe it when I see either Liberty announce it themselves, or when it goes live and I see international shipping to the U.S. as an option. 🙂 But in the meantime I’m keeping my hopes up!

          • Thanks. I hope I catch it in time before it sells out. I remember being interested in it last year and settling for the LookFantastic calendar instead.

  9. Out of curiosity I compared what the differences were between the two (besides how they’re oddly both 250, but one’s in £ and the other in $ (I don’t think the differences really warrant the price difference imo)):

    US & UK

    • Ouai – Wave Spray (I think the one in the US calendar is larger though)
    • Christophe Robin – Cleansing Volumizing Paste (2.5 fl.oz)
    • Dr Dennis Gross – Alpha Beta Extra Strength Peel (5 Pack)
    • Tan Luxe – The Face Illuminating Tan Drops (0.34 fl.oz)
    • Hourglass – Veil Powder Travel Size (0.31 oz)
    • Kevyn Aucoin – Lipgloss in Sunlight (0.17 fl.oz)
    • Lipstick Queen – Medieval Lipstick (0.05 oz)
    • Space NK – Shimmering Spice Candle (1.23 oz)
    • Oribe – Mystify Restyling Spray (1.97 oz)
    • Eve Lom – Cleanser with Cloth (0.67 fl.oz)
    • Goldfaden MD – Bright Eyes (0.5 fl.oz)
    • Tata Harper – Regenerating Cleanser (1.69 fl.oz)
    • Patchology – Weekend Mask Trio (3 x 0.95 fl.oz)
    • Omorovicza – Queen of Hungary Mist (1 fl. oz)
    • Chantecaille – Jasmine & Lily Healing Mask (0.34 fl.oz)
    • Votary – Toning Serum (1.7 fl.oz)

    US Only
    • Sunday Riley – Juno (0.5 fl.oz)
    • By Terry – Crayon Kohl in Black (0.042 oz)
    • Ilia – Tinted Lip Conditioner Deluxe – Arabian Nights (0.4 oz)
    • Rodial – Mini Mascara (0.2 fl. oz)
    • Diptyque – Eau Rose EDT (0.25 fl. oz)
    • Miriam Quevedo – Platinum & Diamond Scalp Soothing Dry Shampoo (2.5 fl.oz)
    • Natura Bisse – Instant Diamond Glow (3 x 0.05 oz)
    • Malin+Goetz – Mini Eucalyptus Deodorant (1 oz)
    • R+Co – High Dive Moisture & Shine Creme (2 oz)

    UK Only
    • Cover Fx – Glitter Drops (15ml)
    • Darphin – Hydraskin Light (30ml)
    • De Mamiel – Cleansing Dew (20ml)
    • Drunk Elephant – Marula Oil (8ml)
    • IGK – Rich Kid (50ml)
    • Malin + Goetz – Dark Rum Votive (67g)
    • Nars – Mini Laguna/Orgasm (2.5g)
    • Odacite – Vital Glow (5ml)
    • Sunday Riley – Luna (15ml)

    • I just did the same thing! I wanted to see what the differences were too. With the exchange rate right now, the UK version would be $325.81. I don’t think the products I’d get in the UK version are worth an extra $75 for me.

    • Hi Luna,
Thanks for the breakdown! What are your must have Advent Calendars this year???

      • I was wondering too. 😁

        • LOL 😀 Well, to be honest, I want virtually all of them(!… as I’m sure most of us do. haha!), but knowing that’s not practical, and the fact I got to try a lot of them in prior years already, I think this year I’ll be sticking to just a few higher-end/luxe multi-brand calendars. I’ve already purchased the Net-A-Porter & Space NK UK calendars. I was hoping to get Harrod’s, but it looks like they’re not shipping to the U.S. this year (sad!), I’m keeping my eye out for the Liberty calendar, and hope that the rumors are true that they’ll be shipping to the U.S. for the first time this year, and I’m waiting to see full spoilers on the Beauty Expert & Skinstore calendars to see if I want to get them. I was thinking of getting the Space NK USA calendar too, but after thinking about it, I don’t think the variants & duplicates are enough to me to warrant me getting it. Even if I “just” end up with the Net-A-Porter & Space NK U.K. calendars (assuming the Liberty one doesn’t ship to the U.S., and I decide to pass on the BE & SS calendars), I’ll be more than happy with that selection. 🙂

          • Luna, you are my spirit animal😊

          • Luna! 🙂
I’m only getting Rituals this year – I still have a lot of products from years past, and it wouldn’t be right to buy another beauty/makeup etc calendar.
I even have candles from Diptyque and that was 2 years ago!

But I have to agree with the other comment – you and Karen G are both my spirit animals!

          • Thanks Luna! 😍 I’m off to check out the ones you listed.

          • Thanks ladies! 🙂

Abby, I’m currently working my way through a few Rituals body lotion samples from the Ritual of Sakura line, and this was my first time using one of the Rituals lotions, and oh-em-gee are they lovely!!! They feel like silk going on the skin, my skin is sooo moisturized afterward, and I’ve never gotten so many compliments on smelling so good before! ha!!! It seriously made me re-think about not getting the Rituals calendar. 😀 However, I’m still holding strong, and anxiously waiting to read it’s sold out so I know it’ll no longer be tempting me. 😉

          • Hey Luna!
I am hooked on Rituals – especially the foaming gel and body scrub of Hammon. I feel like Im in a spa – and their black soap is amazing!
So I think their calendar is a must for people who enjoy home pampering – I can’t pass it up.

          • I got the Fortnum & Mason and there are a few hiccups. The invoice they sent after shipment somehow adds in an extra 5 gbp for shipping. They will not give me a tracking number but confirm that my order is on its way. They require signature, which I could manage if I knew what day it would arrive, which can’t know without tracking. Grrr. I hope I actually get the calendar!
After this snafu I couldn’t resist the Net A Porter one with a lower price point, the option to decline signature confirmation and only U.S. state sales tax and no currency conversion fee and no shipping charged.
I also plan to get the Liberty London one if they ship to the U.S. I got it last year and loved it, but had to use a forwarding service.
Last year I got too many calendars and ended up opening one after the new year one window at a time once per week. It became a Sunday routine after I reflected on the week and checked progress on my new year’s resolutions. I think I will do the same this year.

          • Spoke too soon! Got my F&M calendar today!

          • That’s awesome AnninVA! I’m glad you got your calendar! 🙂 I just got my Net-A-Porter calendar today, and wow!… what pacakaging! I was expecting the drawers of the calendar to have been a little more substantial (they feel more like thin cardboard), but I guess the cost is mostly going toward the products, so I’m still a happy camper. 🙂

          • Luna, so glad you like the NAP one! Can’t wait to get mine. I like that the packaging of that one is a little less Christmasy and might open it after the new year. I like the F&M one a lot. The Liberty London packaging last year was superior with sturdier drawers, more attractive print, lovely filler ribbon and cards in the drawers with info on each of the products. The F&M one has pretty sturdy drawers, the weird design on the front that I don’t love but won’t keep me from reusing the calendar and lots of red faux straw filling the drawers to the brim that does not make fishing the products out very pleasant. I am very excited about the products- some brands I know and love and some other brands I am not familiar with but very excited to try.
