The Bakery Box September 2018 Review

Shea Shea bakery scrub - front view

Shea Shea bakery scrub - Open view

Honey Graham Body Scrub, 4 oz – Estimated Value $10 (based on a similar item found here)

The body scrubs from Shea Shea Bakery are some of my favorite product offerings from them, and this lightly toasted graham cracker scent was delicious while sugars and shea butter exfoliated and hydrated my skin at the same time.

Shea Shea bakery Hair oil - Front view

Honey Graham Hair Oil, 4 oz – Estimated Value $10 (buy a similar 2 oz version for $5)

I enjoy using the hair oils from Shea Shea Bakery on wet hair right before I braid my curls. While the scent is a bit strong right at first, after a little while it faded into a lovely graham cracker scent I could still smell hours later when I held my braid to my nose. The additional moisture this gives my hair helps to keep it smooth and shiny, too. If you have thin hair, I would definitely go with the less is more approach with this oil.

Shea Shea bakery creme - front view

Honey Graham Body Crème, 4 oz – Estimated Value $16 (based on a similar sized item found here)

The body butter from Shea Shea Bakery is usually too greasy for my skin, so I was really excited to receive the lighter body crème! This absorbed into my skin quickly and left a lingering soft scent of toasted graham crackers that I really enjoyed.

Shea Shea bakery soap - front View

Smores Soap Bar – Estimated Value $7 (based on other soaps found here)

This big bar of soap is really like a smore—it even has a melted chocolate layer between the graham crackers! I love the creativity that this brand has, and I also love that this soap leaves my skin clean and smelling faintly of the delicious combination of honey and chocolate.

The Verdict: I love when The Bakery Box includes larger size items, and the honey graham scent throughout the items this month were absolutely lovely. I calculated a value of $43, which I think is great for the $24.55 cost from a small company that displays such fun creativity.

I am a staunch believer that pineapple doesn’t belong on pizza and when I’m not working as a family law attorney I enjoy hiking the Louisiana trails (alligator sightings are a favorite!) or relaxing with Duchess, my cat. I’m a sucker for anything labeled a mystery box and I’ve never met a bath bomb I didn’t like.

I didn’t like the snore soap. Its way to big to use and awkward being rectangular. I cut it up in sections which was easier but it’s a mess all over the bathtub

This month was amazing. I love honey though. It doesn’t really have a food scent to me, the lotion, oil, and scrub. Just remind me of a really awesome honey which makes me so happy.

Just from the review I can tell I would love this box, but could never actually get it. All I would want to do is eat the products! 😂😂

Wow, it’s so funny how people have different perceptions regarding scent. I thought the September box was so fake smelling, I could hardly bear to smell the items even briefly. My box will likely be gifted, it’s that bad to me.

OTOH, I have loved all their other boxes. 🙂

I did think the large soap bar was clever… but still, the scent didn’t work for me, and I love honey scented things and often snack on a plain Graham cracker or two.

I get this box for my daughter and myself. We enjoy opening it and doing our own little review. The last two months were kind of heavy on the chocolate scent( we didn’t like it so much.) But the textures, craftiness and packaging is always amazing.
I did email them to see if there was a way to pause( giving me time to see what scent is primary in the next box) but it is cancel only.

Thank you for the info!! As a currently subscriber I wish that they offered a pause or skip option as well. Do they reveal the included products on their website or Facebook?
