Orglamix Subscription Box Review + Coupon – September 2018

Orglamix October 2018 - Box Review Front

Orglamix is a vegan and cruelty-free beauty subscription containing loose shadows, glitter pigments, aromatherapy roll-ons, and more. Many of the items in the subscription will be unique to the subscription and not available in the Orglamix shop (although they will have the same great formula). In addition to the $34.95 a month Beauty Box, Orglamix also offers an Eyeshadow Edit box for $21.99 a month and a Pressed Glitter box for $15.00 a month.

This is a review of the Orglamix Beauty Box.

Orglamix September 2018 “Celestial” Review

This month’s theme is “Celestial.” Let’s see how Orglamix incorporated that theme into the month’s items:

Orglamix October 2018 - Booklet Front Top

Orglamix October 2018 - Booklet Inside Top

Orglamix October 2018 - Booklet Back Top

The box came with an information card detailing the items and theme for September. It also lists ingredients, which is nice since these items aren’t typically available in their online shop.

Orglamix October 2018 - Myst Hyaluronic Acid Spray Top

Myst Hyaluronic Acid Spray – Listed Value $12

I am not really into facial sprays, but the bottle says “body” so I tried it that way. I haven’t seen hyaluronic acid in a body lotion product before (it’s usually touted as treating fine lines and/or wrinkles) but it is light and absorbs well and seems to be a good weight for this time of year (it is still a little warm where I live, like open windows weather).

Orglamix October 2018 - Celestial Hyaluronic Acid Body Polish Scrub Front

Orglamix October 2018 - Celestial Hyaluronic Acid Body Polish Scrub Open Top

Celestial Hyaluronic Acid Body Polish – Listed Value $21

OK, here is something I can get behind. Scrubs are probably my favorite bath/body items to receive in subscription boxes, and I go through them rapidly. I’m not sure the little stars do much, but this scrub has a decent oil/abrasive ratio and I feel like the exfoliation is decent (for reference, I tend to prefer harsher scrubs with lots and lots of abrasive particles like sugar or salt).

Orglamix October 2018 - Galaxy Gloss Topper Top

Orglamix October 2018 - Galaxy Gloss Topper Open Front

Orglamix October 2018 - Galaxy Gloss Topper Swatch Front

Galaxy Gloss Topper – Listed Value $9

The information card said something about “color-shifting pigments” and so I swatched this immediately before moving on. I also tried to show what this looks like in the tube. Because it totally turns pink on my arm. I’ve been using a lot of lip glosses lately (I don’t like getting lipstick all over my face when taking my Invisalign out) and also lip stains, and this works on its own or as a more moisturizing element over a drying stain.

Orglamix October 2018 - Glow Shimmer Stick Top

Glow Shimmer Stick – Listed Value $12

This is essentially a highlighter but I actually don’t find it too shimmery for me. I had a bit of a hard time blending it but I think it might work better and go on more smoothly if warmed up for a moment before applying (like with a hair dryer or something). You can see a swatch below.

Orglamix October 2018 - Meteor Shower Natural Eyeshadow Open Top

Meteor Shower Natural Eyeshadow – Listed Value $12.50

You’ll usually get at least one (sometimes several) loose mineral pigment eyeshadows in this subscription. I like this color. Although I’m not a fan of neutrals in clothing/lips/shoes, I do tend to gravitate towards them for eye makeup, and this kind of looked like a soft gray on me with maybe a little bit of shine but not too much. I find these non-irritating (I wear contacts and have sensitive eyes) and that they blend well. (I always wear over primer, for what it’s worth.)

Orglamix October 2018 Swatches

Here are swatches of the gloss topper, the “glow” highlighter, and the eyeshadow. (Also, Sneaky says “hi.”)

Verdict: I calculated a value of $66.50 for the September Orglamix subscription box. The items this month were all exclusive for this box, so I had to rely a lot on the information card, but I think the values were relatively close to those of similar items in the shop. This box was a bit unusual in not having a fragrance item, but I do find everything useful and I had a lot of fun with the color-changing gloss.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Can you still get this box if you sign up today?  No, this was September box and they say they ship around the 10th (in practice, it may be a week or two after that before the box actually ships, although this month’s box was received somewhat earlier than usual), so you’d probably get the November box as your first one.

  1. This is the September box which I just received a couple of days ago. I had to bug them to send it because there never was any tracking for Sept –I was told that “Celestial” was the Sept. theme and that October boxes are to be sent out on the 20th.

    • OK, I did wonder about that, because I didn’t remember getting a box in September, but since they send the boxes for review, I thought maybe they ran out or something, and gave them to paying customers first.
