Now, on to the items!

Luxor Box September 2018 - Janis Savitt With Bag

Janis Savitt Tri-Color Cobra Bracelet - Retail Value $190

Luxor Box September 2018 - Janis Savitt Front

This bracelet is made with 18k Gold, Gunmetal, and Rhodium Plated Brass. Each band measures 5/8 inches.

Luxor Box September 2018 - Janis Savitt Top

The bands freely move so it has the added bonus of being something to fidget with, too 🙂

Luxor Box September 2018 - Janis Savitt Zoomed

Here it is on:

Luxor Box September 2018 - Janis Savitt Wearing Model

It's a pretty bold piece for me, but it's an impressive piece - and the mixed metal should go with a lot of different accessories.

Luxor Box September 2018 - Orrefors Upon Box

Orrefors Raspberry Votive - Retail Value $35

Luxor Box September 2018 - Orrefors 1

This piece is bigger and heavier than I was expecting!

Luxor Box September 2018 - Orrefors 2

It measures about 4.5 inches across, and 2.5 inches tall.

Luxor Box September 2018 - Orrefors Top

It's made of lead-free crystal with an enlarged raspberry texture inspired design.

Luxor Box September 2018 - Orrefors Zoomed

Here it is with a tealight lit:

Luxor Box September 2018 - Orrefors With Light

The light reflects in it beautifully!

Luxor Box September 2018 - Caswell-Massey NYBG Lilac Front

Caswell-Massey NYBG Lilac Eau de Toilette – 15ml Retail Value $25

Luxor Box September 2018 - Caswell-Massey NYBG Lilac Back

One thing I should mention with these Caswell-Massey scents, I love the natural scent of lavender, but I didn't find these to match up with that. (So if you aren't a lavender fan, I recommend still giving these a sniff!) Oops! This is lilac, not lavender! 🙂 I would describe the scent as floral and powdery.

Luxor Box September 2018 - Caswell-Massey NYBG Lilac Hand Creme With Box Front

Caswell-Massey NYBG Lilac Hand Cream 2.5 oz. – Retail Value $18

Luxor Box September 2018 - Caswell-Massey NYBG Lilac Hand Creme With Box Back

This hand cream is rich, hydrating, and it absorbs without a greasy feeling. And it's very fragrant - the scent lingered for hours.

Luxor Box September 2018 - Caswell-Massey NYBG Lilac Soap With Box Front

Caswell-Massey NYBG Lilac Soap - 3.2 oz. Retail Value $10

Luxor Box September 2018 - Caswell-Massey NYBG Lilac Soap Top

This soap is triple milled and provides a rich lather. (And it's paraben, phthalate, and sulfate free!)

Verdict: This box has a retail value of about $278. I think that value is good for a $139 luxe box, but it's tough that so much of the value comes from the hero item bracelet. If you subscribed because you wanted that bracelet, I imagine you'd be happy with this box, but if the bracelet isn't for you, I imagine this box might be a disappointment.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, this box is sold out. If you sign up today, it looks like your first box will be the November box.

You can buy all this Caswell Massey stuff at TJ Maxx type stores for a deep discount. This box just really sucks! Glad I cancelled their “deal” and got refunded a day after the fiasco started. Dodged that bullet!

I will stick with the boxes that offer double the value for 1/3 of the cost. I have been with luxor box FOREVER, after this one I cancelled. The smellies were of a great grandma, the candle holder you can buy at the Dollar tree, and the bracelet fits my size 6x daughter perfectly. Not impressed.

Anyone else get the email from Luxor about adding a credit card to their system? I ordered with Gilt and no credit card was needed since these were prepaid. According to their email, they will not fulfill orders without credit cards on file. Doubt they can do legally.

I replied to them about how unreasonable it is to expect us to turn over personal information after the November box has been prepaid and the “payment ” processed September 9. I suggested they figure out how to meet their obligation and ship these boxes. I have already cancelled so I don’t owe money on November 9 when they would process payment for the January box. No reply.

I came here to ask the same thing… I’d rather not give them my credit card number… I prepaid, and I definitely don’t want them charging my card at the end of the year.

The votive is $15 at Neiman Marcus if anyone’s interested. I didn’t get this box, but I loved the look of the votive from the spoilers so I bought two from NM.

Any chance the scent is more natural? I get headaches with more traditional perfumes. But don’t want to open and try this if I’ll need to swap it.

I think the scent is definitely on the stronger side. I’m not into florals much and I’m ambivalent to this scent (the products themselves are good quality, though).

The bracelet is much different from the dainty jewelry I usually wear but I like it. I’ve had fun turning my arm around and watching the bracelets slink up and down my arm. I was about to give away the votive but ultimately decided to keep it and I’m glad I did. I bought a set of cheap flameless candles and popped one in and the way it reflects the light is truly beautiful and calming. I gave the Caswell-Massey set to my mom since the scent was way too strong for me and I’m not into florals. My mom turned around and gave the set to a women’s charity, so although I wasn’t thrilled with the box at first sight, I’m actually fairly pleased and glad I got the Gilt deal. I won’t be renewing after I receive November’s box, but I’m looking forward to what that brings. Hopefully a couple of good Christmas presents will come out of it.

I ended up not doing the gilt city deal a while back for Luxor, and I guess I’m kind of relieved!

I actually quite like the bracelet, at least the look of it on you, but it looks like it would catch in arm hair!

The votive looks so pretty lit.

I love your reviews, Liz, they are always so sensible and even handed, acknowledging when a box may not appeal to people!

I shave my forearms! Nice and smooth and nothing catches. Lol

Aarjullor

I shave my arms also, I just started a couple of years ago. I can’t believe how nice it is, I wish I had started this ages ago.

I don’t the bracelet, and it’s too small for me anyway.

For Luxor Box, this is a good box from them.
I guess they won’t be working with Rose et Marius any longer? I loved those boxes.
Also was building a collection of Halycon Days bracelets.
Those complaining about the fragrance items- at least it wasn’t ” Passport To Beauty” brand which NO ONE has ever heard of outside Luxor Box. I won’t use it. $40 Hair tea my aunt Annie.

Once I got the bracelet and put it on, I really liked it. Would like to see Luxor go back to the high end box they used to be. The value was not as good for this one and if you didn’t like the bracelet, this box had very little value for you. I am looking forward to the watch in November though.

Missy

Oh no that bracelet is so tacky! Guess I know why they had to photoshop it on celebrities!

Reply ButtonReply

Missy

Oh no that bracelet is so ugly like I’ve literally seen one very similar at goodwill! It’s totally goudy to me it reminds me of the type of jewelry my grandma sold at her garage sales!! I just can’t imagine how that is worth 190$! I tried giving it away to several friends/family and no one even wants it! I think I’ll put it up on eBay but I doubt it will sell so if someone is interested I’m on the swap site. This is the first time I didn’t see spoilers boy I wish I would’ve now! Like on of the previous ladies said I like the raspberry crystal and that was it! So disappointed!

I really love the bracelet and also the votive. It goes with my crystal vase and decanter…heavy, quality, elegant.

Luxor is a sub box…a bang for your buck with an element of surprise. So far, I’m happy!! This satisfies my shopping urge me and keeps me out of the malls and shops in my neighborhood! At this point I don’t need anything…even if I spend time I store picking it out…

Nicole

I actually love the bracelet but the rest was a bust for me. Was hoping for maybe a higher end skincare product and a wallet or scarf type accessory. I did the 2 box gilt deal so I really cannot complain too much. Hope the watch in November comes with at least one other item I like.

Cindy

Didn’t love it and didn’t hate it. I am allergic to lilacs so enough said there. Bought the Gilt deal. If the next box doesn’t hit it out of the park, I will not renew.

Reply ButtonReply

LM

I love the bracelet! Looking forward to the next box too.

Ana

I haven’t even received a shipment confirmation for this box. Are they usually running this late?

Reply ButtonReply

Jennyjenny

Did they photoshop the bracelets on Oprah and one of the Olsen twins?

Reply ButtonReply

Anna

Yes they did.

Reply ButtonReply

Kris

I may be in the minority but I absolutely adore the smell of Lilacs!

Reply ButtonReply

Eileen

I’m quite pleased with this box. I like sometimes wearing a statement piece of jewelry & keeping everything else simple. This bracelet fills the bill!

Reply ButtonReply

Tat

Liz, the reason that the Caswell Massey cologne doesn’t smell like lavender is because it’s lilac…just as it says on the label.

Reply ButtonReply

Liz Cadman

Ah, that is a facepalm on my part! Updated!

Marie

This was the WORST box I have got. I’m allergic to floral and wood scents. The bracelet barely fits, I have to stretch out each piece individually. The only item I like is the $35 candle holder that I dont need. If luxor doesn’t improve I’ll have to cancel after I get my March box. I’ve been with them since box 1, and wanted to cancel before my renewal at the beginning of May but was auto renewed the middle of Apr this year, which was a change from the previous years.

Missy

March?

I’m sooooo happy I got a refund on that gilt Luxor box ‘deal’.

As am I, The way they photoshopped the images on the spoiler for September was sketchy.
I tried to buy the July box with my card or PayPal but they never responded to my email. Oh well, I should thank them since I’ve avoided doing business with them after that.
