If you aren’t familiar with Golden Tote, here’s a really quick intro: Every month, a new "collection" of seasonally appropriate, trend-conscious clothing is added to their collection. Depending on the subscription level you choose, you can pick out 1-2 pieces from those options, and Golden Tote will surprise you with the rest. The surprise items are completely different from the collections you pick from. Golden Tote also offers a Surprise Tote, where you choose your preferred size but leave all the picking up to the stylists at Golden Tote.
Golden Tote offers a $149.00 Golden Tote (5 clothing items), or $59.00 Mini Tote (2 clothing items). Both allow you to pick at least one of your items. There's also a Surprise Tote (3 clothing items all picked by Golden Tote) for $89.00.
This is a review of the 5-item Golden Tote, which is $149.00. This month, I selected 2 items for my 5-item tote, there are 3 surprise items, and I selected two add-on items because I loved this month's selection so much.
And for those of you asking, yes, everything does arrive in a literal tote!

Here's my invoice. Now onto the items!
Falling Leaves Peplum Top - Retail Value $40
This top was the first of my two chosen items. I really like the length, color, and print of this top. This top is so close to being great but the fit is just off enough to make me uncomfortable. I got it to work fine in the photos, but when my hand is not on my hip the top runs a little oversized, and that plus the peplum just add a lot of volume and shapelessness in my torso.
City Stroll Sweater Cardigan - Retail Value $42
This cardigan was my other chosen item. This is made with a super cozy sweater material that is very comfortable and warm. I like the length of this, too! I really think I could have sized down to a medium because I feel like there's a little extra fabric, but for a cozy Fall/Winter piece, I don't think I mind. I love the wine color, too, and I can see it pairing well with many different tops I own.
Maronie Star Top - Estimated Value $40
This star-printed top is my first surprise item. It is SO soft and comfortable! Unfortunately, I think every top I've ever tried on that has a tie front or twist-front or fold-over front is just way too short on me. Even with a cardigan underneath it just hits me so high on my torso. The quality and comfort of this top were winners otherwise!
Be Cool Pullover in Olive - Estimated Value $40
This pullover sweater is one of my best items this month! The fit is perfect, I love the design and ribbing details, the fabric is soft, and I have been wanting more olive in my wardrobe!
Peppermint Tie Waist Dress in Charcoal - Estimated Value $40
I can see myself wearing this plenty this winter! Pair it with some leggings and boots and it'll be an easy outfit. It has a tie-waist front detail, but you can just as easily tie in the back for a smoother look.
Now for the add-on items!
All Dolled Up Dress - Retail Value $42
I owned a maternity dress that was very similar this one, but maxi. I loved it. When I saw this dress offered in Golden Tote's October collection I knew I wanted to snag it. The fabric has a nice weight and is soft and silky and drapes nicely. It feels a little more Spring/Summer to me but some booties and a jacket could still carry it through the season. It's very comfortable and I feel it's flattering - I'm happy with this one!
Stroll Through the Meadow Top - Retail Value $40
I'm smitten with this mustard floral top! The fabric is too cute, and the design of this top is flattering. I feel really good in this and I don't own much mustard, which is really trending right now. I also love that the sleeves are 3/4 length and that the back has this ruching detail that adds some extra fabric to flow flatteringly around the bottom.
The Verdict: Golden Tote is one of my favorite subscriptions. Many of my favorite clothing items over the years have come from Golden Tote, and I think this tote adds to that list! This month's tote had some great items that I'm excited to add into my Fall wardrobe rotation. This is the first time I've ordered add-ons and the two items I added are some of my favorite in the box, so I'm glad I snagged them.

Value Breakdown: My estimated retail values (based on similar items from Golden Tote’s boutique) add up to $202, not including the add-on items. This box costs a total of $149 (plus $38 and $35 for the discounted bundling prices for the add-on dress and top, respectively). Averaged out, for the 5 main items in the tote you’re paying about $29.80 per item.
