Frank And Oak Style Plan for Men October 2018 Review

When you first sign up for this subscription, you fill out a style profile that captures your sizing preferences and your sense of style. (Choose from Casual, Classic, and Creative). You’ll also be able to set a budget for different types of clothing that could be included.

Before your box ships, you get an email inviting you to hop in and preview your order. The page that opens up shows you the items that have been selected for you. You can switch out the chosen items for others on this page if you desire. The plan includes three items, but you can choose more or less than three if you’d like. The prices are all discounted for you, so it’s a deal compared to just shopping the regular site.

Here’s the invoice for the three pieces John ended up with, plus the return instructions. (If you didn’t know before, Frank And Oak is a Canadian company, which explains all the French you’ll see on their packaging and paperwork!)

John only switched out 1 of the 3 items this month. Let’s see what he ended up choosing!

Newport chinos

The Newport Chino in True Black, 34×34 – Retail Value $59.50, Member Price $39.99

I was shocked when John told me he wanted to get these black pants since he has a couple of pairs in his closet. But, I was informed that none of them fit, so in the donation bin, they go. I’m really glad he picked these because a good pair of black pants is essential. They are a mid-weight cotton twill with 3% spandex to give them a little stretch. The black really is a true black with no fading or distressing and has a slight sheen. Since these are a 34 length (John wears a 30), we’ve taken them to an alterations shop and are having them hemmed for about $12. Learning to hem is on my to-do list…

Jasper shirt front

The Jasper Striped Oxford in Navy Blazer, L – Retail Value $59.50, Member Price $49.50

This is a great, versatile shirt for John. I think it looks good dressed up or down depending on what he needs. It’s made of mid-weight cotton that is a bit looser in weave and softer than traditional dress shirts. The lengths are a touch long for John but he either layers or rolls the sleeves up most of the time anyway.

“Good” Cotton Fleece Logo Pullover in Black, L – Retail Value $59.50, Member Price $49.50

The “Good” in this cotton comes from sustainable farming and harvesting and processing that has a low impact on the environment. Also, it’s super comfy and I’ve already nabbed it for myself a few times. The black cotton/poly mix is accented with a subtle, black embroidered Frank And Oak logo. This is a great piece to layer when it starts to really cool off since there isn’t any extra bulk from hoods or pockets. Both the black and gray versions were selected for John originally, so we kept this black one and switch the gray one for the button up shirt (above).

The Verdict: Since John started receiving Frank And Oak’s style plan, his wardrobe has not only improved in style but also in fit and quality. He likes the fabrics, colors, and comfort factor of their clothing and that they take measures to be sustainable and environmentally friendly. I think it’s great that he can long on ahead of time to approve or edit his selections to give him the highest chance of loving his items.

To Wrap Up:

Can I still get this box if I sign up today? Each box is customized based on your style plan. Under the $25 styling fee plan, boxes ship automatically on the 1st of the month, and you can log in 2 days before shipment to add or remove items or skip the month altogether. That said, you can still follow the product links above to shop these items for yourself from their site catalog!

New Deal: Use this link to get your first box with no styling fee!

Value Breakdown: John paid the member’s price of $138.99 for the three items he received this month, which would have cost $178.50 at their regular retail prices. He kept everything, so the $25 styling fee was waived.
