About Beauty Report Box

The Box: Beauty Report Box

The Cost: $29.95

The Products: A mix of full-sized and deluxe-sized beauty products!

The Fall 2018 Beauty Report Box Review

Here is the info sheet for the products included.

Derma Protect Daily Defense Broad Spectrum SPF 50,

Derma Protect Daily Defense Broad Spectrum SPF 50, Full-Size! Retail Value $45

Well, with this one product we are already over the cost of the box and then some! This SPF 50 sunscreen provides great sun protection while not being too greasy for my oily skin.

Eu2Be Nurture + Nourish Lotion,

Eu2Be Nurture + Nourish Lotion, Full-Size! Retail Value $40

Another single product worth more than the entire box! This has a strong, natural scent that isn't my favorite, but the scent isn't terrible either. This is packed with 13 different kinds of butter and oils, and it really does provide intense hydration where your skin needs it.

GrandeLips HydraPlump Liquid Lipstick in Smoked Sherry,

GrandeLips HydraPlump Liquid Lipstick in Smoked Sherry, Full-Size! Retail Value $25

This is the third box in a row that I have received a Grande Lips lip product, and I wish they would change it up (my sister swears by their lash serum and I would love to try it!). I have actually gotten this exact shade before in a Sephora Favorites kit, so here I am wearing it:

This had a mild tingling sensation that didn’t burn, but I did think the formula applied a bit patchy.

ScarAway Silicone Scar Sheets,

ScarAway Silicone Scar Sheets, 4-ct - Estimated Value $9.99 (buy an 8-count box for $19.99)

This is listed as a full-size box, but there are only 4 sheets inside when all of the ones online contain 8 (excluding the fancy c-section scar sheet that comes in a pack of four). This is another item that has come in the past three boxes, and I haven’t had any issues with scars in that time. I passed the last box along to a friend who is undergoing tattoo removal, and she said these silicone sheets made a big difference in the recovery time and appearance of her tattoos!

Veneffect Pore Minimizing Cleanser,

Veneffect Pore Minimizing Cleanser, 0.5 oz – Estimated Value $5.88 (buy the 5.1 oz version for $60)

This cleanser is designed for oily skin and has ingredients like willow bark and pomegranate extract designed to control excess oil production, minimize pores, and add some brightness to your skin. I found it to be non-drying and it didn’t irritate my skin thanks to calamine being one of the ingredients!

Taut Collagen Mask, 1 mask

Taut Collagen Mask, 1 mask – Estimated Value $10 (buy 5 masks for $50)

I love a good sheet mask and this one did not disappoint. It is made with hydrolyzed collagen, hyaluronic acid, squalene, and vitamin C, and it left my skin hydrated and bright after wearing for 20 minutes.

Biopelle Tensage Intensive Serum 50, 1 ampoule – Estimated Value $19.50 (buy 10 for $195)

This box really does the most when it comes to sending out fancy skincare samples. This is designed to “radically” improve skin tone and texture and it is made with antioxidants, peptides, and snail secretions. I do think it made a small difference in the appearance of my skin, but I think you will get better results if your skin is a bit more mature than mine.

Hum Beauty zzZz Supplements,

Hum Beauty zzZz Supplements, Full-Size! Retail Value $10

This is one of the items I was most excited about- I love these supplements! I have paid full price for them before because I really noticed that they helped me to fall asleep and sleep deeper, and I wake up more refreshed after using this in my nighttime routine.

Replenix Neckletage, 0.35 oz

Replenix Neckletage, 0.35 oz – Estimated Value $18.12 (buy the 1.8 oz version for $88)

I don’t have neck wrinkles and I would like to keep it that way, so I have been using this as a preventative product. It has peptides, antioxidants, niacinamide (which my skin loves!), caffeine, and ceramides. Basically, this is packed with amazing ingredients and I like the way it makes my neck feel after using, even though I can’t attest to if it improves wrinkles or age spots.

Sio Beauty Super EyeLift, 2 pack – Retail Value $24.95

These came in the Spring Beauty Report Box and my opinion on them hasn’t changed even though time has passed. These are reusable silicone patches designed to help with hydration and wrinkles around your eyes, but I find them awkward to wear because they didn’t stick well- they don’t stay on my face throughout the night, so by the time I wake up they are essentially ruined.

Colorescience Sunforgettable Total Protection Face Shield SPF 50, 0.3 oz

Colorescience Sunforgettable Total Protection Face Shield SPF 50, 0.3 oz – Estimated Value $6.50 (buy the 1.8 oz version for $39)

Colorescience is such a good sunscreen brand, and this did not disappoint. It is lightweight and goes on sheer, and it has niacinamide in the ingredients so this should also be safe for sensitive skin.

Glowbiotics Probiotic Skincare HydraGlow Cream Oil, Full-Size! Retail Value $59

This is a fancy moisturizer designed to provide “instantaneous hydration, loving rejuvenation, and entire facial restoration.” Honestly, though, I thought this moisturizer was all talk and little action. It has mica in it that gives your skin a superficial glow, but I didn’t see results that would lead me to think it would improve my skins natural glow. This also wasn’t a good fit for my oily skin, but the thicker oil consistency had a nice texture when applying.

HAU Hair Pack,

HAU Hair Pack, Full-Size! Retail Value $15

I enjoyed this hair mask- it was easy to wear and I thought it made my hair softer and shinier. Unfortunately, I wouldn't purchase it again because I realized after that this is made with sulfates and silicones, two ingredients I try to keep out of my hair.

NeoStrata Skin Active Tri Lifting Serum,

NeoStrata Skin Active Tri Lifting Serum, 0.1 oz – Estimated Value $10 (buy the 1 oz version for $100)

This serum packs a hydrating punch thanks to the hyaluronic acid and amino acids in the ingredients. This is designed to plump skin that has wrinkles but my wrinkle-free skin liked how plump and soft it felt the next morning after using this the night before.

Dr. Lima Barely There,

Dr. Lima Barely There, Full-Size! Retail Value $24

This is a lightweight moisturizer that is made with aloe vera, and I think it is a really solid moisturizer for the price.

Epicuren Discovery Pumpkin Apple Spice Peel,

Epicuren Discovery Pumpkin Apple Spice Peel, 0.5 oz – Estimated Value $10.10 (buy the 2.5 oz version for $50.50

One of my favorite face masks in the fall and winter is the Peter Thomas Roth Pumpkin Enzyme Mask, and I found this to be really similar! It is made with pumpkin and apple enzymes to help remove dead skin cells, and it also helped to tighten my pores. Also, it smells delicious.

Farmhouse Fresh Moon Dip Back to Youth Ageless Mousse, 2.4 oz – Estimated Value $9.60 (buy the 8 oz version for $32)

This is described as a mousse but it really has a thicker consistency then what I would say a mousse is. It is made with beeswax and lanolin and it really packs in the hydration, but I would be cautious to not use too much at once.

Phyto-C Skincare O-Live Gel, 4.5 mL – Estimated Value $19.50 (buy the full-size version for $130)

So this box came with SO many items that I didn’t realize my box was missing this sample until I sat down to do this review. Oops. We reached out to customer service about the missing item and I am currently waiting to hear back. This is a hydrating gel packed hyaluronic acid that is designed to calm dry, irritated skin.

The Verdict: This is one of the best-value boxes out there that you can get for $29.95. There are so many full-size products that there really is something for everyone in here, and even though I was missing one sample I didn’t even miss it until I was looking at the info sheet. If I had one complaint it would be that I wish they would mix it up with the Grande Lips and scar away sheets, but that is almost inconsequential when you look at the box as a whole. I calculated a value of $342.64 for everything except the missing O-live gel. The Beauty Report promised the box would have a value of over $350, and the value of that missing gel would definitely make the entire box meet that promise.

To Wrap Up:

Can you get this box if you sign up today? No, this box sold out pretty quickly!

Value Breakdown: This box cost $29.95 and I calculated a total estimated value of $342.64! Here is what you are paying approximately per item:

  • Derma Protect: $3.93
  • Eu2be: $3.49
  • Grande Lips: $2.18
  • Scar Away: $0.87
  • Veneffect: $0.51
  • Taut Mask: $0.87
  • Biopelle: $1.70
  • Hum Beauty: $0.87
  • Replenix: $1.58
  • Sio: $2.18

  • Glowbiotics: $5.16
  • Hau Mask: $1.31
  • Neostrata: $0.87
  • Dr. Lima: $2.09
  • Epicuren: $0.88
  • Farmhouse Fresh: $0.84
  • Phyto-C: n/a

I’m glad I saw this and purchased. I like the Phyto-C Gel and will purchase more. I didn’t like the smell of the Eu2be lotion but added a few drops of Ylang Ylang oil and now it’s totally doable. HUM helps me to sleep through the night. I have a surgery scar and have used the Scar Away with no visible results, but I will use these to see if I notice any difference, probably not. All in all, I’m still going through the box and will gift some to my sisters, but what I have used I liked

I love the Hum Beauty Zzzz! It is the only thing that helps me fall and stay asleep and doesn’t make me feel hungover in the morning!! I’m kinda sad that I didn’t get this box, but honestly I have so many products that I need to use that it’s a good thing that this box is no longer available!!

I love the Beauty Report boxes! I’m not a fan of any of the moisturizers but I have bought more of the Biopelle tubes. The full size of that product is a bunch of little tubes also! I think ten

If anyone is not going to use their Scar Away and would like to swap it for something (not necessarily in this box as I have a lot of ‘stash’, please post a comment. I just had surgery and have determined I will need this item. Hoping for mutual savings/happiness! Thanks!

i love these boxes! even if i don’t like some of the products in them, it’s always so much fun to try new things. i agree about the glow moisturizer, it did nothing for me. i used it alone after washing my face and it added no moisture and little to no glow. the eye patches i actually like, but here’s what i did, i waited until the weekend when i knew i didn’t have anything to do and i wore them a couple days in a row! they stuck well and never came off until i pulled them off. i also liked the eu2be. the smell wasn’t great, but the level of moisture it provides will be awesome come winter! the hum was okay, i added it to my monthly shipment. it helps me sleep deeper and dream more, but i do end up feeling like crap the next day. though it isn’t the fault of hum, i have that problem with any melatonin. like a hangover feeling. i can’t wait til they release the next box, i live for these boxes!!! 😀

Totally loved this box. I usually purchase two. Sad I didn’t this time as I like the glowbiotics and eu2be lotion. Winter is almost here and this is perfect to apply for harsh Minnesota winters. Really like the veneffect products also. Have received three different travel size products from different boxes and find them gentle for my skin.

I’ve gotten several Beauty Report boxes now and I always love the variety (and the chance to try out some pricier skin care items!) I actually don’t mind all the Grande Lip items, lol, since I ended up really liking the first one. This one was a tad darker than generally go for, though, and it would be good to try other Grande Products than just the liquid lips. And they really should switch it up – there are only so many Scar Away patches I can use! Lol.

Sad that the glow moisturizer doesn’t work that well – it was the one product I was most looking forward too and it had some good reviews online. I’ll try it out anyway.

When can we do pre-sale for the upcoming Winter box? Thanks.

I have amassed quite a collection of Scar Away and Grande Lips (glad this one was clear) but report boxes and the annual boxes are the absolute best ! I enjoy the bi-monthly box as well.

I thought my PhytoC was missing too! It’s SO tiny! I found it in the packaging after searching for it, I almost threw it away by accident! I get two boxes, and both were like that- hard to find!

Could not agree with you more about the Globiotics! I received one last year from a different subscription and it’s basically a rose scented & colored oil with mica. It feels nice to put on if skin is dry, but nothing to justify the price tag.

Loved discovering all these wonderful moisturizers and masks. This box was a total win for me. I even use the Moon Dip, although I wouldn’t choose this scent on my own, I do like the product. The Grande was the only miss—I like their clear lip gloss better and would be thrilled to try a different product from this company. Anyway, Beauty Report is a fun box! Love the review and comments.

The New Beauty boxes are such a great value. There wasn’t as much that I loved in this box, but lots of them get the job done at a steal of a price.

I wanted to love that sunscreen, but I just couldn’t. It was so powdery that it felt slimy — my glasses kept sliding down my nose after I applied it! I ended up putting pressed powder over it to fix the issue.

I’m saving the Eu2Be lotion for winter when I really need it because of the strange cedar-chest smell. But I may try the essential oil trick instead!

I also … do not get the scent of that Moon Dip cream. It smells like the inside of a Halloween pumpkin in December.

I’ve added the Glowbiotics into my morning routine and feel like it’s a good moisturizing serum. The serums from New Beauty in general are pretty great and useful.

And as usual with these boxes, there’s so much stuff that I STILL haven’t tried everything yet! What a bargain.

I got the GrandeLash lash serum from a Sephora Play Smarts box and I was completely shocked that it actually worked for me. (and I’m not the kind of person who remembers to apply every single night.) The deluxe sample is supposedly a 6-week supply, & I’m still using it in mid-October.

Tangentially related to the sleep supplement- if you have issues with sleeping check out the site Talk About Sleep. I have a rare sleep disorder and its an extremely useful resource for me and even for others who don’t have sleep disorders. Its goal is to present the latest science of sleep to help people sleep better and get sleep disorders diagnosed earlier. Im not affiliated with them, just a fan!

@Ally The Talk About Sleep domain is down. Hopefully they renew. I’d like to read their info.

Thanks! I’m going to check it out. It’s been years since I’ve been able to sleep with Rx or OTC meds. One type will work for a while then just stop and I have to switch to something else. It’s so frustrating!

Great review! I loved everything except all the repeats. I even loved the Eu2be lotion that a lot of people didn’t care for because of the scent. I just added some tansy essential oil in mine and it smells so yummy now. Any essential oil will work.

Great idea!

Yea…that’s a smart idea…didn’t thought about it that way…I have plenty of good smelling oils to try it that way! Thank you for your outside-the-box thinking!

I love the glowbiotics moisturizer! It is amazing! Even after I cleanse my face is glowing!

Great review, as always! I missed this one this time, and it hurt! Lol.

I got a clear Grande Lip product. I really don’t like the Moon Dip product. It is definitely not a mousse. It is thick and almost waxy. The Sio eyelift gels don’t stay on over night. Overall it’s a great deal and good way to try things.

Julia

Thanks, Jessica! I loved that box – an amazing deal for $30.

Don’t worry about sulfates and silicones in your conditioner. First, because they are not harmful. Second, because you wash them all out anyway. Third, because the hair outside the scalp is all dead matter.

Reply ButtonReply

Drminniecooper

Sulfates and silicones have a discernible effect on curly hair though. They usually make mine look and feel like straw.

Reply ButtonReply

SquirrelyGirl

Sulfates are bad for people with autoimmune disorders. They can trigger an inflammatory response.

Reply ButtonReply

Michelle

Many curly hair people avoid sulfates because they are extremely drying and dry curls= massive frizz. Most Silicones wash out only if you use a sulfate shampoo, so back to the sulfate issue. I seem to remember Jessica saying in a previous review that she follows the curly girl method, which avoids both types of ingredients for the aforementioned reasons.

I loved this box!!! The Eu2Be was passed of to my boyfriend to use on his rough working mans hands and he loves it! I like scented lotions, but the Moon Dip Mousse isnt a scent I enjoyed. Other than that, this box was a total hit! Especially with skin care. Whether I use them for treating or for preventative, I was completely satisfied and one cant go wrong for the price! Cant wait for the next one!

That olive gel has worked well for me with the little lines around my eyes. I have sensitive eyes/contacts and can use it without irritation.

That Farmhouse Fresh lotion though, not sure if anyone else picks up this exact scent, but it reeks of Red Vines and candle vanilla to me, and not in a good way.

Tamar

I agree. I just used this for the first time last night and my immediate thought was that it smelled like fake licorice. Not a great smell but I put it on my legs before bed so it didn’t bother me too much. Probably wouldn’t put this on the upper half of my body for that reason.
