Bullymake Box is a monthly subscription box for power chewers. You all have heard about (and seen) some of Nyx’s exploits with plush toys from dog subscription boxes so when I heard about this one, I had to sign up immediately. Nyx is definitely a power chewer! You pick your dog’s weight in 10-pound increments so this is a box for an 80-pound dog (Nyx weighs about 84 right now).

My Subscription Addiction paid for this box. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

This review is of the Toys-only, 80-pound, $39 a month, box.

About Bullymake Box

The Subscription Box: Bullymake Box

The Cost: $39 a month (save with 3, 6, and 12-month subscriptions)

The Products: Toys and treats specifically tailored for heavy chewing dogs (no plushes). You can also choose a “toys only” box. Because of Nyx’s dietary issues, I went with the “toys only” box. You can also enter specific allergy information in a box on the checkout screen.

Ships to: USA (free!), Canada for $8, and Internationally for an additional cost

Good to know: if you want a toys-only box, you must select that during sign-up. Otherwise, you will get the default box, which does include some treats.

Bullymake Box October 2018 Review

There wasn’t a theme this month:

Not all boxes are the same due to the fact that you can choose your dog’s size in 10-pound increments, choose a toys-only box, etc., but there is usually an information card highlighting an item or two from the box.

Sugar Skull Rubber Toy – Estimated Value $18

The information card said we were getting a pumpkin for the rubber toy, but I received this skull instead. I’m fine with this since Nyx doesn’t care what it looks like and it does essentially the same thing. I’m assuming it has the same value (most Bullymake toys do). I like that all of these toys have two holes to prevent suction dangers. Nyx is most interested in this if I put a little peanut butter inside (peanut butter is like one substance that doesn’t set off her digestive issues).

Jack n’ Bones – Estimated Value $18

Here is our second seasonal toy; this one is a nylon chew. I am not sure what the flavor is or if it even has a flavor but that is OK. Nyx lives for these each month and, as you can see below, she dived right in. What amazed me was that she actually chewed each arm about equally; most of the time she’ll pick one end and chew until it’s so destroyed I have to take it away, but the way she spaced out the chewing meant this lasted longer.

Multipet Nuts for Knots Ball Medium Dog Toy

Multipet Nuts for Knots Ball Medium Dog Toy – Retail Value $7.50

If you have the “toys only” box, you’ll get a fair number of Multipet ropes. Nyx loves these, though. She mostly sits there and tries to remove pieces of rope, and these don’t last forever, but they are durable enough to last her for a few play sessions.

Nylon Ring – Estimated Value $18

We received one of these as a replacement item last month and Nyx enjoyed it quite a lot. She has no idea that she’s received the same thing twice, and I’m happy that she has something quiet to play with that doesn’t have any stuffing, so it’s a win for both of us.

Here are a few shots of Nyx with the skull and crossbones toy. These nylon chews are the highlight of her month.

Verdict: I did not calculate a value for the October 2018 Bullymake Box because much of what we received was not yet in the Bullymake Box shop. There were four items this month, so they have an average value of about $9.75, which I think is pretty good since most of them sell (or will sell when they get listed, or are similar to items found) in the Bullymake Shop for $18. For Nyx’s purposes, these toys are appropriate in terms of size and durability, and I appreciate getting a variety of toy types in case one doesn’t work out for her. Of course, everyone’s dog will be different.  But this box definitely works for us.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, your first shipment would be November's. You can sometimes buy some of the exclusive toys at the Bullymake Shop if something catches your eye (this month’s toys may take a few weeks to get put into the shop). Also, please note there are some box variations here so you may not always receive the same box as Nyx gets, even if you choose the same profile values when you sign up.

Value Breakdown: This box costs $39 + free shipping, which means that each of the 4 items in the box has an average cost of $9.75.
