Summer 2018 Bonus Bless Box “Summer Daze” Review

Each box comes with a mini magazine detailing the items included.

Also included were some coupons from included brands.

Crystal Hills Organics Crystal Dreams Body Serum, 4 oz

Crystal Hills Organics Crystal Dreams Body Serum, 4 oz – Retail Value  $58

Woah, this is one pricey body oil! This has a lovely and calming lavender scent that is mixed with ylang-ylang and geranium, and it also has an amethyst crystal inside. Using it really made my skin feel soft and smooth, and I loved the essential oil-esque properties of the calming scent.

Clarins One Step Exfoliating Cleanser with Orange Extract, 1 oz – Estimated Value $10.59, Listed Value $9 (buy the 1.7 oz version for $18)

I love Clarins! I have always been impressed with the quality of the products I have tried from the brand, and this cleanser is no exception. This exfoliating cleanser is gentle while still removing dead skin, and the light orange scent is quite pleasant. I was concerned at first when I saw microbeads were an ingredient, considering that those can be very harmful to the environment. Clarins is already a step ahead, however, and the microbeads used for exfoliation in this face wash are eco-friendly.

Clarins Toning Lotion with Chamomile, 1.7 oz

Clarins Toning Lotion with Chamomile, 1.7 oz – Estimated Value $6.50, Listed Value $7 (buy the 6.8 oz version for $26)

This alcohol-free toner with chamomile may be one of the most gentle toners I have ever tried. This would be great for sensitive or dry skin, but it still worked great on my oily, acne-prone skin! It left my face feeling clean, calm, and ready for the next step in my skincare routine.

Kerastase Aura Botanica Lait de Soie Blow Dry Hair Milk, 5.1 oz – Retail Value $37, Listed Value $20

This is a thin hair milk designed to reduce frizz while also providing thermal protection for heat styling (up to 450 degrees). I don’t heat style my hair, but this still works with air-drying to reduce frizz and smooth hair. I was happy with how this performed—it left my hair soft and I did see less frizz!

Seraphine Botanicals Liquid Coal Liquid Liner,

Seraphine Botanicals Liquid Coal Liquid Liner, Full-Size – Retail Value $22

I am so salty about this eyeliner—this was supposed to be in the June box, but due to shipping delay it had to ship separately. But, I never received it! Irritation aside I found the felt tip liner to be easy to control, and I was happy with the inky black color.

Sterling Forever Multi Orbit Drop Earrings in Blush – Listed Value $50 (linked to the same style in a different color)

I know this is a summer-themed box, but these are really giving off holiday party vibes to me—the dangling orbs remind me of ornaments! I did find these to be a bit heavy for me, so I would wear them to an event but not as an all-day casual look. Also, the fastenings and posts are yellow-gold plated brass.

Babo Botanicals Clear Zinc SPF 30 Sunscreen Lotion, 3 oz

Babo Botanicals Clear Zinc SPF 30 Sunscreen Lotion, 3 oz – Retail Value $19.95

This sunscreen is hypoallergenic and is made with Zinc, aloe vera, argan oil, and shea butter (among others). I found this to rub in easily to my shoulders and arms, but overall the 3 oz size means this wouldn’t last very long.

The Seaweed Bath Co Eucalyptus and Peppermint Hydrating Seaweed Bath, 2 oz – Retail Value $3.99

I had tried a different variation of the bath and I was wary because of the pieces of seaweed. Luckily, this had no chunks of seaweed and had plenty of the delicious eucalyptus and peppermint scent that I love in a bath product. My skin did feel more hydrated after using, too!

Bless Box Jade Facial Roller with Custom Suede Travel Pouch

Bless Box Jade Facial Roller with Custom Suede Travel Pouch – Listed Value $25

Jade rollers are so trendy right now, and I am excited to join in on the fun. Jade rollers are supposed to help with lymphatic drainage and absorbing skincare products, and it is super relaxing if you’re like me and carry a lot of tension in your face. This feels heavenly if you stick it in the fridge before rolling it on your face from the center out.

Bless Box Custom Spa Head Wrap – Listed Value $10

As someone who appreciates a good facial, this is in the same style of the headwraps the aestheticians use—I think the “spa” title is accurate! This fits comfortably around my big head and is perfect for dealing with sticky face masks that I want to keep away from my hair.

Bless Box Meditation Coloring Book

Bless Box Meditation Coloring Book – Listed Value  $5

I’ll be honest, when I first pulled this out of the box I thought it was an extra. While I appreciate the creativity of the artist’s drawings, I wish the composition of this included a real cover to protect the pages to make this feel like it is a valued item in the box.

Super Smile The Mini Deluxe Whitening System – Listed Value $9

This two-piece kit contains a whitening toothpaste and a whitening accelerant that you use at the same time on your toothbrush for maximum teeth whitening potential. My teeth can be rather sensitive and this didn’t irritate them, but I haven’t quite noticed a difference yet in the whiteness of my teeth.

Jin Soon Nail Polish in Farouche, Full-Size

Jin Soon Nail Polish in Farouche, Full-Size – Retail Value $18

Farouche is a gorgeous shade of purple-toned magenta and I am devasted I dropped the bottle (breaking it ) before I was able to use it. Even though this is a summer box, this really gives me fall vibes and I am here for it. I have used Jin Soon polishes before, and their crème polishes go on smoothly and have a high-shine finish.

Peeled Snacks Much Ado About Mango, 2.8 oz – Retail Value $4.79

I love banana and apple chips, and I was hoping these would have the same texture. Since these are “gently dried” they don’t have the same crunch that other freeze-dried fruits do, so for me personally the texture left something to be desired. The ingredient list couldn’t be better, though—there is only one ingredient, mangos!

Popcornopolis Nearly Naked Popcorn, 1 oz

Popcornopolis Nearly Naked Popcorn, 1 oz – Listed Value $2 (buy 10 4.5 oz bags for $24.99)

I love popcorn, and I love individual servings of popcorn so I can eat enjoy without mindlessly munching through too much. Surprisingly, I didn’t miss the butter flavor as much as I thought I would, though I was missing the extra crunch you get from freshly popped popcorn.

Ardell Beauty HydraCream Lipstick in Fox, Full-Size – Retail Value $9.99

I surprisingly loved this lipstick. It was creamy and hydrating and I almost felt like I was wearing a tinted lip balm. The staying power on this was pretty good, too. You can see me wearing it below.

Ardell Beauty Demi-Wispie Lashes – Retail Value $4.79, Listed Value  $3.99

These came in the June box, and while I wish that Bless Box wouldn’t repeat items I took it as a sign I should try out false lashes again. Surprisingly, I really liked them! They were comfortable too—after about ten minutes I couldn’t tell I was wearing them.

Here I am wearing the Seraphine Botanicals eyeliner, the fake lashes, and the lipstick.

The Verdict: The bonus boxes from Bless are some of my favorite boxes out there—they are always jam-packed with goodies! This summer daze box is no exception, and I calculated a value of $296.60! That is an amazing deal for a $50 box, and it’s even better if you used the $10 off coupon!

  1. Regarding the two almost identical comments regarding CC fraud, I wonder if others have had this experience?
I have subscribed on 2 different occasions and ordered this box with no issues.
Wouldn’t hurt to ask them if their portal is secure.

Also, it’s hard to nail down where your cc might be captured – but I think unless there is a major breach (which customers are supposed to receive notification), it’s most likely done in person, no? (at a restaurant, gas station, etc.)

  2. Lashes look
Great on you, the second pic in the review shows pretty bad on my phone, maybe the lighting is off, it’s okay because I can see most of the product I’m the first. Good to know about the lashes as I haven’t tried any yet although I own a ton, it seems like to much work but maybe I will try them.

  3. Why are earrings made by a company called “Sterling Forever” made with brass?

(And why did this comment get deleted before…? :-))

    • It didn’t get deleted, it’s down below.

  4. I really enjoyed this box and felt it had so much value.

I was really frustrated with the liner, but because it arrived in the August box, which newbies got as a bonus – so for them, it seemed like a decent box, for me, it needed more love.
Also, because when it finally got through customs, they sent out an email asking if people wanted it straight away or to wait (about another month) for it to be sent (in the August box). Wait longer?!

Generous though of them to include the new subscribers. But for us that were already subscribing and got this bonus box, that meant 3 black eyeliners (including July’s).

Liner drama aside, this box was awesome and I’m looking forward to hearing what you thought about September! Another liner – but different color and it looks nice from the spoilers out there.

Thanks for trying out the lashes, they look great on you! I’m inspired to try.

    • I never got my eye liner. 🙁

  5. I think that this was previously released as the Summer Daze Limited Edition Bless Box, at the end of August.

  6. I ordered a special edition of this box and not long after my credit card was alerted for fraud as someone had gotten ahold of my credit card number and was trying to purchase things online. I hope this comment posts as I think people should be warned that not every site seems to have the most secure shopping portals. Buyer beware.

  7. Thank you for modeling the lippie rather than swatching it on your arm. It looks great on you. I forget what color I received but I know it was different and I did not like it.
This wasn’t my favorite bonus box from Bless but I definitely got my money’s worth. I wasn’t too keen on the earrings but they would go perfectly with what I am wearing today but of course I forgot about them until I saw them in your review. I wanted to take out the 3rd ball and move the 4th one up to make them a little lighter.
I liked the color of the nail polish but it started chipping after just 2 days.

  8. Why are earrings from a company called “Sterling Forever” made of brass…?

  9. All the colors look beautiful. I always go for the nude colors as well. I’m inspired to branch out of my comfort zone after seeing how those bright colors make your eyes POP! The red one is amazing on you! 🙂

    • Ha! Sorry i wrote this review under the wrong one. I LOVE your makeup Jessica, those eyelashes!

  10. I love the colors on you! You look gorgeous. What eyeshadow are you wearing? It is such a pretty color. By the way I got this box, too and love the oil. It smells so nice and little goes a long way. This was a great box!

    • You look lovely, gorgeous hair. I’m so jealous..Great review Thanks

  11. Please be careful with this company. I ordered a limited edition box and soon after I had a credit card fraud alert. Someone was using my credit card number to try to order online purchases. I don’t know if all of these companies have secure ordering sites. Please buyer beware.

    • If a site has a lock at the top it is usually secure,I have noticed that many boxes are not on secure sites and pass those boxes up as a precaution just because my bank has had to block my card on more than one occasion and then I am left without a card
