Kiehls info sheet

Here is the info sheet detailing the products included.

Kiehls micellar

Herbal-Infused Micellar Cleansing Water, 0.10 oz - Estimated Value $0.33 (buy an 8.4 oz bottle for $28)

I love micellar water and this one is no exception. It is gentle and cleaned my skin while leaving it feeling hydrated.

Kiehls water

Clearly Corrective™ Brightening & Soothing Treatment Water, 1.4 oz – Estimated Value $9.40 (buy a 6.7 oz bottle for $45)

This is an essence (which you apply after toner in your skincare routine) that has a gorgeous sheen thanks to illuminating minerals, as well as skin-loving ingredients like licorice, vitamin C, white birch, and peony extracts. Overall, this is designed to help your skin be calmer and more bright, and I can definitely attest that it soothed my redness and recent breakouts.

Kiehls ginger 1 Kiehls ginger 2

Ginger Leaf & Hibiscus Firming Mask, 0.5 oz – Estimated Value $7.94 (buy a 3.4 oz bottle for $54)

I have loved every mask I have tried from Kiehl’s, so I was not surprised to find I loved this too. A little bit of this mask goes a long way (when I first used it I applied way too much), and when I woke up the next morning my skin looked brighter and felt incredibly hydrated and smooth.

Kiehls lip 1 Kiehls lip 2

Buttermask Overnight Lip Treatment, 0.07 oz – Estimated Value $6 (Buy a 0.28 oz bottle for $24)

This was probably the biggest disappointment in the box for me. I have chronic dry lips that will crack in the corners frequently, and so I religiously apply oils and balms to my lips to try and prevent it. This lip treatment had the consistency of butter from a really cold fridge, and it was hard to rub into my lips. When I woke up the next day, I had a lot more chaps on my lips than normal (I usually use the Laneige lip sleeping mask). The lack of results combined with the frustrating application process makes this a miss for me.

Kiehls foam

Creme de Corps Smoothing Oil-to-Foam Body Cleanser, 1.4 oz – Estimated Value $4.83 (buy an 8.4 oz jar for $29)

I would say the foam part of the “oil-to-foam” name is a bit generous, but this is a hydrating body wash that lathers up well when mixed with water. This left my skin feeling soft and clean after using, and I loved the signature Kiehl’s almond and vanilla scent.

Kiehls cucumber

Cucumber Herbal Conditioning Cleanser, 1 oz – Estimated Value $4.80 (buy a 5 oz. jar for $24)

While this is designed for very dry and sensitive skin, my oily and acne-prone skin really loved it too. It is incredibly gentle and I would agree with the statement that it leaves your face “comfortably cleansed.”

Kiehls dry oil

Creme de Corps Nourishing Dry Body Oil, 0.17 oz – Estimated Value $0.98 (buy a 5.9 oz bottle for $34)

Foil packets are probably one of the most hated inclusions in subscription boxes, but at least the Kiehl’s foil packets include enough product for one generous use. This actually left me feeling a bit greasy, but I think that is because I applied too much—a little bit should go a long way.

Kiehls glow

Glow Formula Skin Hydrator, 0.17 oz – Estimated Value $3.80 (buy a 1.7 oz bottle for $38)

This is a daily morning moisturizer designed to give your skin an illuminating glow while improving your skin over time to give you more of a natural glow. This is lightweight and absorbs quickly, but I would caution my fellow oily gals to be careful—I was pretty shiny a few hours after applying, and I would be hesitant to apply makeup over this moisturizer.

The Verdict: I love Kiehl’s and I love that this discovery kit offers new products from the brand- every single item was new to me! My favorite is definitely the overnight mask, but the treatment water is a close second. Value-wise, Birchbox promised a value of $36 and by my math, the total value of this kit is $38.08.

The Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if I sign up today? Yes, as of publication, this box is still available!

Coupon - Check out all the free gift with purchase coupons, and don't forget to add your free sample pack with any $35 purchase.

Value Breakdown: This box costs $18 + $5 shipping ($23) and I calculated a value of $38.08. That means you are paying approximately the following per item:

  • Micellar Cleansing Water: $0.19
  • Treatment Water: $5.67
  • Overnight Mask: $4.79
  • Overnight Lip Treatment: $3.62
  • Cucumber Conditioning Cleanser: $2.89
  • Oil-to-Foam Body Cleanser:  $2.91
  • Dry Body Oil: $0.59
  • Glow Formula Skin Hydrator: $2.29

I ordered this when I signed up for a 3-month subscription, and I have to say that I’m really a huge fan of Kiehl’s now.

The cleanser and treatment water have been nearly daily additions to my morning routine, and I’ve really enjoyed it. I’ve got normal skin (probably a bit combo, as I do have an semi-oily I zone), but I do have rosacea and redness and, like Jessica, the treatment water has been great to help heal up recent breakouts and flares. I’m seriously considering getting the full size when I run out. The cleanser is nice and gentle but I actually feel CLEAN afterwards, which isn’t always the case with gentle cleansers–I personally love a squeaky clean feel, and probably overuse exfoliants as a result, but this one really does wonders to make feel as if it’s worked without scratching my skin away, if nothing else.

I can also attest that you definitely don’t need too much the night mask! It felt like my skin wasn’t breathing the first night, but after using less I found it to be helping reduce redness too, maybe the ginger as an anti-inflammatory? Anyway, love this.

And I do love the lip mask, too actually. It is hard to get out of the jar, but just a little bit at night has made me not feel parched in the morning, even after a night of drinking when I normally would for sure!

Haven’t used the foils or the body wash yet, but plan to as we get into the colder and drier winter months.

I just discovered Kiehl’s and I am completely in love. For $18 bucks this is a great little kit.

Hi Jessica,
I think you have the price of the kit wrong. It’s actually selling for $18. 🙂

This was a really nice kit, and had some products I’d never heard of before. It’s too bad that lip balm didn’t work for you, but I’ll admit that’s what’s intriguing me the most! I’m waiting until BB has some sort of promo or something to incentivize me to make another purchase from them, then I’ll get this kit. 🙂

The lip mask is what interests me the most too. I wear braces and my lips are frequently chapped. I’d still like to try it and will wait for a better deal too. I’ve been using Kiehl’s Toner for about two weeks and it’s phenomenal. It’s the first toner that I’ve used that doesn’t sting and is moisturizing.

Oooh… is it their Calendula toner? I have samples of that (and the face wash too), and I can’t wait to finally try them. Just by looking at them, I can tell how soothing they’ll be. 🙂 I’m currently working on a full-sized bottle of their Midnight Recovery Concentrate, and before I got into sub boxes, that was my go-to night serum for years. I figured it was time to re-visit an old favorite. 🙂
