Birchbox Curated Box Available Now – $10 for Subscribers!

I wanted to like birchbox but it just seems the personalization is kind of off for me. In three months I’ve gotten three hair care products (don’t mind once in a while, but two in one box was a bit much…); two perfumes (wouldn’t normally mind but both have been amber/musky scent which I dislike, and the sample sizes are so tiny); two mascaras (I rarely wear mascara and if I do I stick to tarte, so sub box mascaras are pretty much wasted on me); a black eyeliner (don’t wear); 4 skincare/cream items (these I’ve tended to like); and three other makeup items (one in each box. Liked the Stila lip, ended up hating the winky lux highlighter – just didn’t work for me; and the Loc shadow I selected this month.

If they get better personalization I might try it again, but the average seems to be that I only like/can use 3/5th’s of the item, and even then it isn’t necessarily items I need. (I’ve got quite the backlog of hair samples now…)

Does anyone know if you can use Birchbox points to pay for add-ons? I can’t figure out how.
