Rocksbox is a designer jewelry styling and renting service. Members pay a flat rate every month to get unlimited access to the Rocksbox collection and the option to buy the pieces they love most at a discounted price.

rocksbox unboxing

Upon subscribing, you'll take a "style survey," so Rocksbox can suggest jewelry pieces that fit your style. You can also browse their catalog and add pieces to your wish list. Each month, Rocksbox will curate sets of three pieces to send your way, including at least one piece from your wishlist. I've been leaving my list empty so that Rocksbox can do all the picking for me.

Try on the items in the box, and wear them as long as you'd like. From there, you have two choices. If you love any of the pieces enough to want to keep them, you can put your monthly "Shine Credit" towards your purchase.

Or, if you're ready for another style, return your box using the free shipping label and reusable envelope you got with your shipment. Shortly after, you'll get a brand new box of jewelry to enjoy!

This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

rocksbox how it works

Here's the booklet that came with the box. It lists all of the jewelry inside and features a note from the person who curated the box. If there's anything I don't love, there's a page in my Rocksbox account that lets me leave feedback on the items, so that the stylist can choose more accurately next time. Also, you can preview your box each month before it's shipped and replace any so-so pieces with something else that you like a little better.

Wilde Capri Drops in Black - Listed Value $55.00, Member Price $41.00

I've been loving the pom pom and tassel trend, and I feel like these black earrings have a similar but slightly more polished vibe. They're the kind of thing I'd wear to a really fancy dinner date thanks to their subtle shine and caviar-like aesthetic. They're gold on the back, too, so should they twist or dance as I walk, you can catch a glimpse of something equally sophisticated-looking.

Sophie Harper Pretzel Necklace in Gold - Listed Value $55.00, Member Price $39.00

I am SWOONING over this petite pretzel! You may have noticed my "Pizza" nameplate necklace that I wear literally every day of my life. Well, what better to pair with it than a pretzel in the same minimalist style? There are 4 loops to close this necklace on. (I'm wearing it on the longest setting here.) It's the kind of thing you could totally miss at first glance, but as soon as someone registers what it is? Amazing. I've been wearing this daily—it's particularly great for adding the slightest bit of personality to professional looks.

House of Harlow 1960 Golden Hour Triangle Ear Jacket in Gold - Listed Value $35.00, Member Price $34.00

I love the dimension that front-and-back style ear jackets like these bring to my look. I love the modern, edgy vibe of these layered triangles. The texture looks great, too—it creates a twinkle almost like rhinestones might give off. I also like that the earrings feel very secure. There's a nice tension pushing the post through the backing.

The Verdict: I like the mix I got this month! It's awesome to be able to have some control over what I get by adding products to my wishlist, while still having an element of surprise to make the unboxing experience really fun. Speaking of which, pulling open the pink bow on each box NEVER gets old! It just feels special. For being a rental service, all the products I've gotten have been in pristine condition. The vibe of the items, as you can tell from what I got, is a mix of edgy and understated contemporary styles. If you're looking for very traditional jewelry, their assortment might feel a bit trendy for you. But I definitely recommend this reliably fun subscription!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Every box is different and packed based on the customer's tastes and what's available at the time. You can, however, give the Rocksbox stylists a nudge by adding your favorite pieces to your wishlist!

Hmmm those black earrings are so cool. They remind me to buy blackberries when I grocery shop next. LOL
