The value difference in these box variations is ridiculous. And does anyone, ANYONE not have a sample of Porefessional already? It’d be nice if they retired the products that have been around for years and evened out the value. It’s my experience that they don’t take your profile into account when assigning you a box. I am happy with one product I’m being sent. I also thing it’s cheap to send Sephora brand samples.

hey, does anyone else have this problem: I looked on my Sephora play website, it said I was getting this box, however when it came in the mail today, I got a totally different box, so I called Sephora, and they said OH WELL, sorry, that’s rude, I look for my box surprise, and get another type of box…Sephora play , your really going down hill….

Chiara
I think you have to be logged in to be able to see the box you are getting, otherwise if you go to their website or follow the link on the email Sephora sends without logging in, you’ll see one of the many versions for that month at random.

my box number and what is showing up as what’s in my box are different. ugh, Sephora!

I’m ok with my box #772 but I don’t care for make up items. Wish I could swap for the OLE serum cuz I really want to try that. On waitlist for swaps 🙁 so there goes that.

I dont know how I ended up on the wait list. I think I was browsing around on the swap page and it said sign in to swap, then it put me on the waitlist. bummer cuz I have product from Ipsy, Sephora Play, Birchbox, and Macy’s August and Sept that I would love to swap. I’m more looking for skin care than make up.
Val
But if anyone wants to swap, I don’t care for the Make up forever or the Too faced. Wouldn’t mind swapping the Peter Thomas Roth as I have that on the way already for another set. I’m more interested in the other skin care items I didn’t get – OLE, Clinique and Sunday Riley.

How do you find out what box you’re getting?
My order number is 21535647901
So I’m guessing I’m box #901? Not sure though because I never see any spilers for my boxes.
Does anyone know what in my box (and if I’m deciphering my box # correctly)?
Reply
Chiara
Your box number is the last three numbers on your “item” number not your order number. To see your item number log in to your Sephora account from a computer or your cellphone’s browser. It will show there. Sephora’s app won’t show it.

Okay sho I got box #681 – anyone know what’s in that one?
NoAngel
Well, I thought most of the August Sephora boxes were fantastic, and I almost resubbed, but I decided to wait and see what the September variations were. Glad I waited, cuz they’re just not that appealing to me. I don’t think I’ve ever received a foundation/tinted skin product that actually matched my skin in any of my sub boxes (not just Sephora), so I’m never happy to see them. (I’m between Porcelain and Beige, pale in the winter and a couple of shades darker by the end of summer, with a definite pink undertone.) I do select the foundation samples with multiple colors when I order from Sephora cuz I can blend two of the blister samples to try if they’ve actually included a really light shade. I’m always happy to see lippies, eyeshadow and blush (not highlighters!) to experiment with. Over the last couple of years highlighters seem to be trying to make people look like disco balls which is not something I aspire to. Some products labeled illuminators are more to my liking, so I’m happy to see them. I do have a pet peeve with Sephora: including their house brand as one of the subscription box items. I would be much more receptive to trying their house brand if they were included as a bonus item and not one of the regular items, especially if there was a name brand item in the box to compare it with. So for now I’ll stick to their Favorites collections and their newer one time purchase boxes which I’ve been very happy with .

I completely agree. I don’t think they should include their brand in the boxes unless its for a bonus either! Or if they do it should be a full size not a sample size. I’m abt to give up on them 😒😒

i don’t know what is going on with Sephora play….they just don’t say anything about the boxes anymore, I found out what my box 715 is going to be on my website today….but 2 of the items are not the same as this site says, so be careful gals, these may not be the same as you get….look up these items on your website first..

Yay!!!!! I have 723. Can’t believe my luck. This is my first Play box after an eight-month hiatus, and they are totally getting me time time around. Ah-mazing. And totally makes up for the ipsy shipment this month (I got the not-terrific products, somehow – not even one of the exciting ones). So happy. Thank you MSA for making my day!

The hydrating jelly is a new product, which box did you get it in? I’m actually quite curious to try it. I can’t use Clinique’s Dramatically Different moisturizer because it has oil in it, but this appears to be oil-free.
