Nosejoy September 2018 "Orchard Aromas" Review
Nosejoy usually sends this welcome card with a welcome note from the sub's curator with an info slip that gives a little description of each item in your box. Sometimes there are even subscriber discount codes, but that's not the case this month. September's theme is Orchard Aromas, and oh my gosh I could smell a rich fruitiness emanating from this box before I even opened it!
Rosy Rings Fig & Poppy Botanical Wax Sachet — Retail Value $12.00
Holy smokes, how beautiful is this packaging? I wasn't sure what to expect from a wax sachet, but I barely cared because I feel like this box is something worth savoring. Yay for it being made in the USA (in Denver, no less: the source of so many good things)!
It slides open matchbox-style, which is a cool touch that adds to the magic of the first opening experience.
It's wrapped neatly in a piece of tissue paper—packaged with such care.
And, wow, how beautiful is the sachet itself? It smells like a blissfully floral potpourri. It's recommended to hang it in a closet or put it in your top drawer—I actually have two top drawers (with bras and underwear separated) and my underwear drawer already has a pine-scented sachet in it from a previous Nosejoy box, so now my bra drawer is going to smell awesome, too!
Paddywax Library Tin Candle, Edgar Allan Poe — Retail Value $8.00
I'm familiar with these Paddywax tin candles from Nosejoy—I got a spiced-smelling one in December that I ended up using as a stocking-stuffer, and it was perfect for that. But, I'm happy to have another one for myself now. This one has a Cardamom-Absinthe-Sandalwood scent to it, which manifests sort of as faintly floral with a musky texture to it. It's really pleasant. And, it was hand-poured in Nashville!
Luxo Banho Port Pear Bathing Oval Soap, 150g — Retail Value $7.00
This soap has by far the strongest scent of any of the products in September's box—I think it's what I could smell radiating out of the box when it first arrived. The aroma is called Port Pear, and I'd say that similar to the candle above, it has a low-key sweet, fruity feel to it without being too feminine. I can't wait to bathe myself in this scent! I like that it has a short ingredients list and wasn't tested on animals.
Beekman Fresh Air Body & Hand Lotion, 8 oz. — Retail Value $7.50
Here's another cruelty-free product; one which leaves out parabens, phthalates, and mineral oils. Its "fresh air" scent is very subtle and neutral, which I think is a good thing for a lotion that you're going to apply to your body! It's a somewhat thin lotion that spreads nicely.
Mangiacotti Pomegranate Mini Lip Repair, 0.15 oz. — Retail Value $6.50
The last item this month is a set of three little pomegranate-flavored lip balms. They were made from a combo of organic and non-GMO ingredients in the USA, and finished by "citizens with disabilities" per their packaging. What an awesome company to support (again, one that I've encountered in Nosejoy boxes past)! I went from feeling like the pomegranate scent of this product was a little artificial-smelling to hardly being able to detect it at all once it was on my lips. Either way, it feels really smooth and soothing on! Unfortunately, I'm one of those people who loses lip balms left and right, so hopefully, I can keep these around for longer than normal!
Verdict: I'm really happy with the products in the September Nosejoy box! They're a mix of use-everyday and more specialty products, and they range from super-scented to more subtle—a nice variety. Most of these products are made in the USA and some have gone an extra step with their eco-friendly, clean, and/or altruistic efforts, which I love. Value-wise, this month's items exceeded the cost of the box again, which is beginning to become the case more regularly. The box costs $34.95 (with free shipping), and the contents add up to $41.00. I'm cool with that value!

Value Breakdown: This box costs $34.95 + free shipping, which means that each of the 5 items in the box has an average cost of $6.99. That's under the retail value of 4 out of the 5 items, of course without the added cost of shipping were you to order the product from its original site.
