July 2018 Marvel Gear + Goods ‘Take The Lead’ Review
The “Take The Lead” box features a number of female leads – Ms. Marvel, The Wasp, Squirrel Girl, Captain Marvel, Black Widow, and She-Hulk!
It arrives with an information card that details the items in your box.
Ms. Marvel Pin – Value $10?
marvel Gear + Goods has some of the best enamel pins out there – and this month’s pin is huge and colorful. The first volume of Kamala Khan’s journey is such a great read – everyone should give it a try!
She-Hulk Raglan – Value $15-20?
All around, I think this box has the best artwork I’ve seen from Marvel Gear + Goods – I thought this shirt design was just plain cool! Most importantly, the fit was great!
Black Widow: Creating The Avenging Super-Spy – Value $45+ (based on non-exclusive value)
I love these little Insight Editions books – this one might be the best one yet, how great is that clean looking cover?!
This thing is just loaded with artwork, comic covers, and classic stories! These are perfect for geeky coffee table books.
This is a Loot Crate exclusive edition – which typically means that it’s an exclusive hardback cover.
Squirrel Girl Sketchbook – Value $5-10?
The next item is a 8.5 x 5.5 sketchbook. I love the artwork on the cover from Erica Henderson – but I wish they put more artwork into it!
While there’s no more artwork – you’ll just have to add your own! This is just a paperback notebook, to – our binding looked like it had seen better days when it arrived, too.
Captain Marvel Poster – Value $10-15?
Captain Marvel gets some screen time with a 24×12 poster.
The artwork is absolutely gorgeous – my main issue is that it looks a tad bit pixelated when you take a close look at it – but from a distance, it’s a killer design.
The Wasp Bookmark – Value $10?
This was a cool item – a little metal bookmark featuring The Wasp!
I thought it was a good design for a bookmark – I liked this one a bit more than I thought I would.
Captain Marvel Lanyard – Value $10-15?
Pretty soon, we’ll be seeing Captain Marvel stuff everywhere – for now, Carol Danvers is still a lesser-known hero.
This is a flexible vinyl logo – you could pull this off an pop it on your keys if you didn’t need the lanyard.
Like all of the best lanyard designs – it has a removable clip for your credentials.
Verdict: The month after I wrote about this subscription being back on track in terms of shipping, it was delayed a month – that’s just the way things have been going for Loot Crate lines these days, and it’s something to be aware of when subscribing. Aside from the shipping delay, I enjoyed pretty much all of th items in the box – I’m wearing my raglan as I write this review!

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, your first theme will be displayed on the landing page.
