Julep Maven Review & Free Box Coupon Code – September 2018

Julep Nail Polish in Evanne – Retail Value $14

This shade is described as an “Dusted Mauve with Gold Ghost Shimmer.”

No surprise, the “Ghost Shimmer” is barely there – and I love it. (I love a nude nail, and it’s nice to have a little sparkle.) The formula is high shine creme, two coats for full coverage.

Julep Nail Polish in Jennifer – Retail Value $14

This is a “Soft Pink Sheer Crème.” The pink tint is barely there – it reads more as off-white to me.

It goes on sheer, and with two coats I got the exact semi-sheer coverage I wanted. Here it is on with the other polish as well:

Julep It’s Balm Lip Crayon in Blossom Canyon Rose – Retail Value $20

I’ve sampled these lip balm crayons before and I love them! The lip balm center is moisturizing, and the color coverage is good, too.

Here it is swatched:

The color is sheer enough that I can keep this in my purse and apply it as a lip balm without having to look in a mirror!

Verdict: I played it safe this month, and I love my choices! I’m all about neutral nail colors, and the lip balm is perfect for me, too!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No. You have to sign up by the 20th to get the next month’s box. Then on the 24th, you’ll be able to sign into your Julep Maven account and select the items you want for your box!

  1. I’m at the end of a 3 month prepaid deal, I am going to cancel as I have plenty of nail polish right now. I want to gift a 3 month subscription to my daughter in November. My question is this; will she receive the sample polish box? Or will they recognize my card number, email and not send it? She’s finally old enough to be responsible and is very creative with her nails, and I love this brand. I thought the 12 piece set would be an awesome start for her collection. Btw she has full access and use of my polishes but is getting to that age where it’s super important to have her Own Things Mom. Thanks guys!!

  2. I swapped out to get the cushion complexion in my box, which I really like. It works for undereye circles, as a concealer, and for general brightening/highlighting. I got Aubrey and swapped out for Shawn #Shine for my two polishes – haven’t tried them yet, though. I got add-ons to, so six more polishes from that!

However, the polishes I’ve tried so far have been very hit and miss in terms of application. I love some of the colors, I just wish some of them would go on a bit nicer!

  3. Confused that the title says free box, but then talks about nail polish set. Is the polish set the free box? Just wondering. Thanks!

    • Oh sorry for the confusion – yes the free nail polish set is the free box I was referring to. When you sign up, it’s the first box you will receive. Hope that helps clarify!

  4. I got the same shade lip crayon and love it! I also love their eyeshadow sticks.

  5. LOVE Julep so much! Those are great picks, but this month it was hard to go wrong!
