I’m in my 40s and cannot stand Sunday Riley products. Like after using them for 2-3 days, my skin hurts/gets super red. Haven’t found a single one that works for me. (I don’t generally have this problem with other brands.)

I hate the smell of Good Genes but unfortunately I like the effect it seems to be having on my skin so far so I’m going to have to force myself to get used to it. The CEO Rapid Flash serum does seem to make my face red temporarily and I think it makes me break out too.

The case reminds me of the pastel pink Play one from last year. I love that case so want this mint green one too.

Well I use everything in the 40s category, but I am on overload with the Sunday Riley right now…especially the Luna. Theres more Good Genes coming next month from Allure, so considering that….I think I will pass because I have been getting toooooo many subs lately!

Tanya M, your comment totally cracked me up.

There’s really not much difference between ages in your general skincare needs. Cleanse once a day, put on sunscreen every morning, put on moisturizer every night. Not that difficult. We each have specific concerns (oily/dry/acne and such), but that’s not addressed by age – that’s individual.
Nice gimmick, Sephora.

Anyone who cares about sunscreen should be reapplying every 2 hours.

But the products are different for each age w different ingredients. And skin’s needs change as you age too! Think that’s the point of age brackets here!

Six samples for $20? No thanks. Add $5 and get a Beautyfix box with at least one full-size item in it and much higher value.

First thing I thought with “age” was I bet it’s heavy on moisturizers. Which if fine, but I’m 42 with pretty oily skin. Would any of these work for me? I was thinking maybe the 30s one?

If the product lists below are correct, actually I think the 40s one would work for you. I’m 39 with oily skin (and continued breakouts). I just started using the Sunday Riley Good Genes at night and it does seem to be helping clear out the dead skin and stuff to prevent breakouts and help regulate oil and the Tatch water cream is a really light moisturizer that even my oily skin seems to love. I just started with the Luna sleep oil too and even as an oil it doesn’t seem to be too bad and my skin does look a bit refreshed/plumped in the morning.

I’m 33 and use all those products listed in the 40s box. I’m DEFINITELY getting that one. Tatcha and Sunday RIley samples go a LONG way.
On a side note, does anyone notice that these Smart boxes have a better feel/curation than their more expensive cousin the Luxe box?
Sriracha
I think I read this whole thing and maybe I missed it, but did it give a release date? Also are all 3 going to have that same case?

Huh…nothing with SPF for the 40s crew? That seems odd. Granted, I have enough sunscreen at home so the extra beauty product might be a nice bonus.

They all sound great! Just curious, Where did you see this video?

Luna
I think if you go to YouTube and search “Play! smarts crash course” they should be the first three videos you see. 🙂

If you go to Sephora’s Youtube page- to the recent uploads there are placeholder videos for the live sessions they will have for each box. These lists were in the descriptions as products mentioned 🙂

Wow – if this is accurate and the sample sizes are generous I’m getting it. I’m a SR Good Genes and Luna Oil devotee, and I always jump at the chance to get them cheaper. I’m getting Allure’s box next month just for the Good Genes too. Everything else in these boxes is a bonus.

In case you are interested, I found a great dupe for the Luna. It has the exact same ingredients except that it doesn’t contain the heavy dyes. It’s Geneva Naturals Anti-Aging Retinoid Face Oil, I got it on Amazon for $20ish for an ounce. They also have a couple other face oils as well, but I have not tried them or compared ingredients because I was looking for a Luna dupe.

I want the 40s just for the Sunday Riley and water cream!! Lol. Need!

It means you’re going to have beautiful skin when you’re fifty. Good for you!

Also, it looks like 2 of the other Sephora Play boxes are currently 20% off ($16 instead of $20).

Oh sweetie. Enjoy feeling left out of this particular club for as long as you can. 😉

Exactly! I am in the 50s club and wouldn’t mind having the skin of someone in their 20s.
Jacki
I love the case! Can’t wait for spoilers so I can decide which box best suits my skin.
