Now on to the items!

Birchbox Curated September 2018 - Shimmer - Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick Front

Stila Cosmetics Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Patina Shimmer - 1.5 ml Value $11

(This is half the size of the full size version!)

Birchbox Curated September 2018 - Shimmer - Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick Open Back

I was so excited to try this since Patina in the matte finish is my go lip shade every day. (I highly recommend Stila's liquid lip formulas - all the shades I've tried hold the pigment well throughout the day and wear down evenly, too.)

Birchbox Curated September 2018 - Shimmer - Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick Bottom

This shimmer is a much bolder look than the matte Patina shade, so I'll probably wear it only for more glam looks. The shimmer is amazing and it has almost a metallic look on. Here it is swatched:

Birchbox Curated September 2018 - Hum Hair Sweet Hair Gummy Vitamin, 2 gummies Front

Hum Nutrition Hair Sweet Hair Gummies - 2 gummies Value $.83

(These were included as a bonus 6th item.)

Birchbox Curated September 2018 - Hum Hair Sweet Hair Gummy Vitamin, 2 gummies Open Top

I love gummies, and I've sampled HUM products before and haven't had any stomach issues with their formulas, so I gobble these up immediately! They were pretty tasty, and the formula features folic acid, biotin, and zinc to help improve the health of hair.

Birchbox Curated September 2018 - Park Ave Blow Out Balm Front

R + CO Park Ave Blow Out Balm - 15 ml Value $2.90

Birchbox Curated September 2018 - Park Ave Blow Out Balm Back

I love R+Co scents, and this is another great one. It's more subtle than some of their other scented products, and it fades a little quicker than I would like. (It had notes of sweet citrus.) The formula itself is light and didn't weigh down my hair, but added some softness.

Birchbox Curated September 2018 - Sunday Riley Good Genes Lactic Acid Treatment Front

Sunday Riley Good Genes Lactic Acid Treatment - 5 ml Value $17.50

Birchbox Curated September 2018 - Sunday Riley Good Genes Lactic Acid Treatment Back

This is a lactic acid treatment designed to exfoliate dead skin cells, plumps fine lines, and evens out hyperpigmentation. The tube is completely full, so I had enough to sample this for a week, too. I *think* I could notice a difference in the evenness of my skin tone, and I’m tempted to buy it in full-size. (FYI – I don’t love the smell, but it doesn’t linger.)

Birchbox Curated September 2018 - This Works Sleep Plus Pillow Spray Front

Thisworks deep sleep pillow spray - 5 ml Value $1.93

Birchbox Curated September 2018 - This Works Sleep Plus Pillow Spray Open Back

This is a spray for your pillow and sheets and designed to help you fall asleep. It’s made with Lavender and Chamomile and smells dreamy!

Birchbox Curated September 2018 - Touch In Sol No Poreblem Primer Front

Touch in Sol No Poreblem Primer - 3.5 ml Value $2.10

Birchbox Curated September 2018 - Touch In Sol No Poreblem Primer Back

I've sampled Touch In Sol lip and eye products before (very impressive formulas), but this is my first time trying their primer. This gel formula is oil-free, absorbed almost instantly, and gave my skin a smooth finish - I'm a fan!

Verdict: This box has a value of about $36.26 - I think that's good for a $10 beauty box! In general, the curated boxes from Birchbox tend to have a good value, so if that's important to you, I recommend picking those each month! This box is a hit for me - I like every single item. (And great brands, too!)

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Yes, this box is available for a one-time purchase! And if you subscribe to Birchbox now, check the image on the sign-up page. The box design pictured is the first month you'll receive. You can't pick the curated box as your first box, but you'll be able to pick it every month moving forward.

I got the curated box as it seemed the lesser of the evils.

The Stila Patina Shimmer goes on darker than you might think and wears like iron.

The primer sample seemed to mostly empty. No great loss as I generally do not use primer.

I agree on the Sunday Riley smell! I like the way it makes my skin look, but I wish it didn’t stink. I also love the Stila. I bought the full size matte Patina this week since they were on sale for Sephora’s weekly wow. This was a great box!

Ugh why does all Sunday Riley smell so bad? I’m glad there is not an artificial fragrance but it seems like they could do SOMETHING about it. I got the full-size toner in the Beauty Brands box and it’s great but the smell makes me gag.

Sunday Riley works for me!

I thought this box included Sand&Sky face mask also? I’m a missing something?? It clearly states on their website it includes that??

Anne

Sand and Sky is in the October curated box.

Hi Tc,

I’m not seeing the Sand&Sky listed or shown on the curated box page from Birchbox. Can you send me the link that you are referring to and I’ll look into it.

Personally I love the Sunday Riley so much that I bought an extra box for another sample (doubling up on the This Is Sleep spray was a good bonus too). I was in love with it from a previous box but can’t afford the $105 full-size just yet. My skin is definitely brighter after just 1 or 2 uses, and for those kinds of results I don’t mind the smell!

Yep, that SR product smells awful. I like the pillow spray and the primer.

I agree, Sunday Riley smells terrible, and I don’t notice enough of a difference to purchase. The Still stays well and is very metallic on it’s own–I’ve been using in the center of my lip with a coordinating matte lippie to add a bit of shimmer without overdoing it for day to day. The pillow spray is a miss for me…. Wish we received more than 2 Him, but they were tasty! (And I know, it’s not a snack😁).

😂 I agree-they were tasty and I too wish we’d gotten more than 2! I had to tell myself “not a snack” after I ate them, wished I had more, and debated on buying a bottle. Anddd I’ve also been doing a combo with the stila- used the metallic patina on top lip and the matte patina on bottom.

I’m on the fence about that Sunday riley. I thought it plumped my skin a bit, but I am not positive.
the directions say to use it 2-7 times a week. I’d like to try another sample before I commit. But the smell is horrid.

It reminds me of old school perms for your hair ! You could tell as soon as you walked into a salon that someone was getting a perm and it’s the same smell. Lol. But I guess you would need to be older to know what I mean. I’m showing my age 😉
