rocksbox package

Rocksbox is a designer jewelry styling and renting service. Members pay a flat rate every month to get unlimited access to the Rocksbox collection and the option to buy the pieces they love most at a discounted price.

rocksbox unboxing

Upon subscribing, you’ll take a “style survey,” so Rocksbox can suggest jewelry pieces that fit your style. You can also browse their catalog and add pieces to your wish list. Each month, Rocksbox will curate sets of three pieces to send your way, including at least one piece from your wishlist. I’ve been leaving my list empty so that Rocksbox can do all the picking for me.

Try on the items in the box, and wear them as long as you’d like. From there, you have two choices. If you love any of the pieces enough to want to keep them, you can put your monthly “Shine Credit” towards your purchase.

Or, if you’re ready for another style, return your box using the free shipping label and reusable envelope you got with your shipment. Shortly after, you’ll get a brand new box of jewelry to enjoy!

This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

Here’s the booklet that came with the box. It lists all of the jewelry inside and features a note from the person who curated the box. If there’s anything I don’t love, there’s a page in my Rocksbox account that lets me leave feedback on the items, so that the stylist can choose more accurately next time. Also, you can preview your box each month before it’s shipped and replace any so-so pieces with something else that you like a little better. Two of the items I got this month were pieces I’d added to my wishlist!

Sophie Harper Lightning Bolt Necklace in Gold – Retail Value $55.00, Member Price $46.00

I love little necklaces like this. I have one that says “Leo” and another that says “Pizza” that I wear basically everyday, hehe! This lightning bolt will be a great addition to layer on with those two other looks. I like the combination of the delicate chain and punchy pendant.

Perry Street Mollie Drops in Pink and Lilac – Retail Value $55.00, Member Price $46.00

These earrings are like a party you can wear! I love the bright marbled colors. I don’t wear a ton of bright hues in my outfits day-to-day, so I like bold accessories like these earrings (which are around 2.5″ big but pretty lightweight) that can bring a bit of pop to an ensemble.

Perry Street Marina Square Studs in Pink Opal – Retail Value $40.00, Member Price $34.00

These pink studs make a slightly smaller statement than the big dangling pink earrings, but they’re still bright and fun. The baby pink gems have a bit of rainbow iridescence to them. I don’t have anything quite like them, so I’m excited to get to wear them around as part of this order!

The Verdict: This subscription is such a fun way to try a bunch of different jewelry styles/colors without breaking the bank. They’re so fast, too—it only took about a week for my new box to arrive after I returned my last set. I like that I can add pieces to my wishlist so that I have some idea of what I’m getting. There’s still an element of surprise, though! For a rental service, everything I’ve gotten so far has been in great condition. I definitely recommend giving it a try!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Every box is different and packed based on the customer’s tastes and what’s available at the time. You can, however, give the Rocksbox stylists a nudge by adding your favorite pieces to your wishlist!

Value Breakdown: This box cost me $21.00 to rent, which ends up being $7.00 per piece. The total retail value for the box is $150.00, and the member price is $126.00 (or $95.00 after applying my $10.00 keep-everything discount and applying my $21.00 “Shine Credit”, aka the membership fee for the subscription.)
