Pearlesque Box August 2018 Review

featured brand info card

This month’s featured brand is Live Botanical! Here’s more from founder Carolyn McRory:

The heart of Live Botanical is the intense desire to connect more with Mother Nature and share their beauty and wisdom with others.  This passion extends into taking care of earth and all their inhabitants. I believe the path to a more sustainable society is to encourage ideas of conservation through compassion.  We must see ourselves in nature and nature within ourselves to change mindsets.  Instinctually we are self-preservationists and when we can create those threads from our own lives to what we see outside, we will begin to acknowledge our role in the larger global picture.  Without these threads it can be easy to be complacent or disconnected.

Let’s see what we got!

Luna Glowing Mask open Luna Glowing Mask

Live Botanical Luna Glowing Mask, 50 ml – Retail Value $30.00

Wow- this is so luxurious in sight, smell, and feel. It has a nice weight to it, beautiful packaging, and the scent is a mixture of florals and honey. The main ingredients are raw honey, rose flower, pot marigold flower, dandelion root, jojoba seed oil, and has aspen bark, papaya, rosehip and chia seed extract, along with chamomile and rose essential oils. You can imagine the gorgeous consistency that all of these create. You can use it as either a daily cleanser or a mask to be left on for 15-30 minutes. I started by using this as a cleanser which has exfoliating properties as well that is super gentle on the skin. I felt really clean and hydrated after using this but look forward to how it feels as a mask in the near future! I can’t get enough of this scent though, I want to spread it on toast (but I won’t)!

Fleur de Terre Calming Elixir Fleur de Terre Calming Elixir with cap off

Fleur de Terre Calming Elixir, 50 ml travel size – Listed Retail Value $28.00 (Buy full size for $34.00)

This is the perfect product to use right after the Luna Glowing Mask/Cleanser to tone your skin. It’s made with lavender, aloe, and lemon verbena to soothe inflammation or any damaged skin you may have. Their description of it smelling like lavender lemonade is dead-on, making this the perfect summer toner! I want to spritz this all over my body but will exercise some self-control to make this last longer by just using it on my face. Even though this is the travel size I feel like it’s plenty to get me through for quite some time. And it’s super refreshing!

Luna Overnight Resurfacing Oil Luna Overnight Resurfacing Oil with dropper

Luna Overnight Resurfacing Oil, 30 ml – Retail Value $48.00

The final product from Live Botanicals might be my favorite. I love overnight serums because it feels like I’m getting work done while I sleep and replenishing any hardships I’ve put my face through during the day. Once I cleansed and toned, just a pea-size drop is needed for me to smoothe over my skin which is already feeling bright and clean. While this is an oil, it’s super lightweight and the small amount doesn’t feel overwhelming at all. I was using so many oils last year and through the winter but have ceased so it feels nice to get back into it. I’m trying to put my finger on what is making this smell so heavenly and it may just be the pineapple that’s in here, perhaps mixed with the jojoba, argan, starflower, and sunflower seed oil. I woke up with soft hydrated skin and used the Luna Mask as a cleanser all over again. What a wonderful little skincare routine they’ve sent!

Verdict: Pearlesque Box really impressed me this month. I love receiving fewer quality products that I love as opposed to a plentiful array of samples that may not suit me and clutter up my medicine cabinet. I thought these three items were curated wonderfully and I was able to put them all to use right away and have a completely new regimen. As is per usual with Pearlesque box brands, Live Botanicals smelled fantastic and I’m so happy that they are all made naturally. Hurray!

  1. Tempted…so freaking tempted… this is something special but I think for right now. Boxwalla& beauty heroes …are my new additions. Dear Angels , more money please. I do share. Thank you. I’m going to check the website to see how long I have to cave… lol

  2. I also thought this was a wonderfully curated box this month. I know a lot of people like to keep to a very minimal skincare routine of cleanse, tone, & moisturize, so I thought Pearlesque did a great job of providing a “full” but minimal skincare routine. I was also pleasantly surprised by the prices of the products too! It was nice to see they weren’t too crazy, and in a decent price range that wouldn’t make me hesitate to purchase even at full price.

  3. What’s the fourth product?

    • There were only three products in this month’s box.

      • Thanks, Luna. It says the card listed four products so I thought they forgot to photograph/review one of them . Still looks like a great box!

    • Oops, I see that I accidentally said four but only three were included and on the actual info card. Fixed!
