Frank And Oak Style Plan August 2018 Review

When you first sign up for this subscription, you fill out a quick style profile that captures your sizing preferences and your sense of style. (Choose from Casual, Classic, and Creative). Then, you can pick whether you’d like a monthly or a bi-monthly plan and set your budget for each box (under $150 or $150+).

Before your box ships, you get an email inviting you to hop in and preview your order. The page that opens up has about 12 products total on the page, and the three products set to ship in my order are at the top of the page and marked with green check marks. The plan includes three items, but you can choose more than three if you’d like. The prices are all discounted for you, so it’s a deal compared to just shopping the regular site.

Here’s the invoice for the three pieces I ended up with, plus the return instructions. (If you didn’t know before, Frank And Oak is a Canadian company, which explains all the French you’ll see on their packaging and paperwork!)

Let’s check out what I got!

frank and oak pink sweatshirt

The Gym Fleece Crewneck Sweatshirt in Fuchsia, Size Medium – Retail Value $59.50, Member Price $49.50

I usually don’t go this bright (especially not in this Barbie pink hue), but I love me a basic, snuggly sweatshirt. So I bit the bullet and decided to give this top a try. I’m actually surprised how much I like the color! I don’t know if it’s the most flattering, but it’s definitely cute and summery. The fabric is 80% organic cotton and 20% polyester so it has a soft, stretchy, ultra-comfy feeling. Plus it’s just a smidge oversized, making it perfect for cozying up on the couch or swinging it over a t-shirt on a chilly evening.

Organic Cotton Pocket T-Shirt in White, Size Medium – Retail Value $34.50, Member Price $29.50

I realized recently that of all the myriad of neutral-toned tees I have in my closet, none were white! A white t-shirt is such a classic staple that I had to nab this one when I saw it in my options this month. I like the pocket and the slightly boxy cut—it feels kind of retro like I’m wearing it to gym class in the 90s. (In a good way!) The 50% Tencel, 50% cotton blend makes it really light and airy to wear, too.

Camp Collar Crepe Blouse in White, Size Medium – Retail Value $59.50, Member Price $49.50

More white! I am swooning over this simple white shirt. It’s 100% polyester, so it has that crepe-y feeling and translucent, semi-sheer opacity. Again, the fit is a bit boxy, which makes it feel really fresh and modern. I love the small “camp” collar and floaty short sleeves. It doesn’t feel stuffy, but the fabric and crisp white color give the top a bit of professional polish that’d be great for meetings or special occasions.

Verdict: Once again, I’m super happy with my Frank And Oak Style Plan! I feel like you really get what you pay for with this service—the quality of the clothes and most importantly, the fit, have hit it out of the park for me with each order. It’s nice not to have to worry about wandering the mall or searching the internet for clothes I like, too. Instead, I know each month, I’ll have a new set of pieces in styles that fit my tastes and my body that I can choose from. The quality and price point feels like what I might find at the Gap or Ann Taylor LOFT, and literally, everything I’ve gotten in past boxes has held up beautifully wash after wash. (And I do wear them super often, so everything’s been through the wringer!)

To Wrap Up:

Can I still get this box if I sign up today? No, each box is customized based on your style plan. Under the new $25 styling fee plan, boxes ship automatically on the 1st of the month, and you can log in 2 days before shipment to add or remove items or skip the month altogether. That said, you can still follow the product links above to shop these items for yourself from their site catalog!

New Deal: Use this link to get your first box with no styling fee!

Value Breakdown:  The member’s price for the three items I received this month is $128.50, which would have cost me $153.50 at their regular retail prices. If I decide to return all three items, I will pay the $25 styling fee and will be refunded the remaining amount, but I can keep any one item at the discounted price and no styling fee will be charged.
