The box comes with a booklet of information with details about the brands/products in the box, plus other bits and pieces around the theme of "renew". It's also their first birthday, so Congrats Bombay & Cedar! I think the snack item was chosen for this very reason. 😉

burlap pouch

Each box comes with two proprietary 100% pure essential oil blends. Let's check out what ones I got this month!

Blood Orange Essential Oil, 10 ml - Listed Value $10.00

Even though I'm swimming in essential oils right now, I'm still happy to see them in the box since I love things that smell nice! The Blood Orange scent is so sweet that I can almost taste it. This is a great summer smell but will still roll nicely into fall.

Clove Leaf Essential Oil, 10 ml - Listed Value $10.00

Oooh- I really love the Clove Leaf one though. This is really woodsy and smoky and is giving me major Fall/Winter vibes (which are my favorite kind). I'll definitely be using this one up in a month or so by adding to an unscented candle or in some homemade surface cleaner.

There seems to always be a dairy and gluten-free snack included in Bombay & Cedar. This time it's a plant-based "Birthday Cake" flavored blondie. I'm not really a healthy person and eat my fair share of garbage-y snack food so this one is a bit rough for me flavor-wise. It has the consistency of a really thick and moist cookie dough but doesn't taste as good. It's kinda grainy yet ultra sweet at the same time. Not my thing at all, sadly. It looks fun though!

Your Tea Creatures of the Night Gift Box - Retail Value $15.00

I've seen Your Tea around via other reviews and whatnot, but I haven't really experienced it myself. There are four different teas included in this one with three bags of each for a total of 12 teas to enjoy. The box lid quickly explains that their teas are meant to be consumed on an ongoing basis to gradually "nurture and replenish" your body. This particular box is actually perfect for me since it's called the "Creatures of the Night" set. I was JUST reading an article about night owls that my Dad sent me since he knows I'm late to bed and late to rise. There is a small magazine included that various content based around bodies (skin, cellulite, muscles) and how different teas can help. There's also a breakdown of the teas in this box, along with some others. The Creatures of the Night set includes Sex Tea, Happy Tea, Hangover Tea, and Energy Tea. These all sound like they fit the theme. Each blend is made with key ingredients to boost exactly what they're named. I'm most interested in the Hangover Tea since I get those baaaad. That one assists with dehydration and cleansing the liver. I'm not 100% I'm buying into it all, but tea certainly wouldn't hurt.

NCLA Beauty Mani E.R. - Retail Value $16.00 (found here for $8.00)

This is a great little set for travel, or to keep in your purse or at the office. I love getting my nails done and keeping them looking nice and neat, so I can appreciate this in the times there is a nail emergency. It includes beauty scissors, rounded and v-shaped push sticks, a nail file, and clippers. I can't tell you how often I have a hangnail driving me crazy or notice my cuticles creeping up and wishing I could take care of it ASAP instead of once I get home to my tools.

Zatik Rejuva Tonic Cleanser, 3.4 oz. - Retail Value $22.00

Oh dang, I just went out and purchased a foaming cleanser this week. Wish I would've held off! This full-size bottle of tonic cleanser is a good one for me since it's targeted at normal to oily skin. My skin tends to be on the oily side and I need a cleanser that helps control it. I'm not familiar with Dragon's Blood but it sounds cool as heck and is mixed with lavender as well. Apparently, dragon's blood comes from tee sap and is tannin-rich and helps loosen up built up impurities which I, of course, want out of my skin! It comes out as a thin liquid cleanser and has a unique but alluring smell to it. As you massage it into your skin, it starts foaming slightly which I always like because it kind of gives a satisfying feel of cleansing. It washes away really clean and made my skin feel clean without being super dried out. Excited to discover a new brand!

The Next Big Thing Doodle Book - Retail Value $16.09

This is a really visually stunning book. The cut out on the front of the hardcover allows you to see through to the orange inside cover with the title. Idea books like this used to get me really excited years ago to finally have somewhere to put the creative things from my head out on paper, but I realized that I personally never ended up using them for more than a few pages until I lost interest. This book is well designed and toggles through different size dotted or blank pages, each with inspiring quotes to get you motivated. This isn't a book for me, but will make a really nice gift for someone who draws or writes a lot and will stick with it!

Sahara Rose Sublime Replenishing Milk back of Sahara Rose Sublime Replenishing Milk

Sahara Rose Sublime Replenishing Milk - Retail Value $39.00

How coincidental that I just last month received a few items from this brand in a different beauty and skincare box that I review. I am all about the natural skin care and this is a product that I haven't tried. This light moisturizer contains prickly pear seed oil and "is rich with antioxidants, omega 3 and 6 and minerals and reduces blemishes caused on skin". It also claims to "tone and firm to improve the appearance of loose sagging skin, stretch marks, and cellulite". I'm always down to try new moisturizers and even though I am trying to stick with SPF-inclusive ones for the daytime, I can use this one after cleansing at night before bed. This doesn't have to be confined to my face either, so I plan to use it all over. Oh and by the way- it smells wonderful.

Chakra Love Gemstone Diffuser Necklace - Retail Value $59.00

I've seen diffuser bracelets around but this is the first time I've seen lave stone used in a pendant on a necklace. The super porous stone allows you to add essential oils to it so that you can hold onto your favorite scents all day. The pendant is a little under an inch in diameter and is hung with gold wire and has a smaller stone dangling from the bottom as well. It's on a vegan leather cord that easily fits over my head so no need to mess with a clasp. While it's nice, I also am a little suspect that this is a $59.00 piece of jewelry. Also, my worry is if any of the oil would inadvertently get rubbed off on my shirt. Normally with the bracelet, it would just be against my skin. Does anyone have experience with jewelry like this? Let me know!

Feel Brilliant bamboo charcoal facial sheet mask back of Feel Brilliant bamboo charcoal facial sheet mask free gift tag

Bonus: Feel Brilliant Bamboo and Charcoal Facial Sheet Mask - Buy 4 for $35.00

As it mentions on the back of the booklet, if you share a photo on Instagram and use their tag #BombayAndCedar, you'll get a free gift in your next box. This time they sent us a sheet mask with bamboo charcoal. I love using masks (sheet, clay, whatever) as a special treat in the evenings so I will gladly accept this! Also- hellloooo this packaging is adorable!

Verdict: This is the first time I've reviewed Bombay & Cedar and have to say that I was pretty impressed with the full-size natural beauty products and variations in items I received! The cleanser and replenishing milk were my favorites, along with the essential oils and nail kit. The birthday cake blondie was a no-go for me and even though the really well-done doodle book isn't for me, it'll make a great gift! I'm also pretty excited to check out all of these helpful teas... All in all I received a retail value of $197.09 for $56.90. Not bad!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, but order by the 12th to get the September box!

Is anyone else having trouble with the discount code?

This box looks amazing! B&C is upping their game. I may have to give in and buy a box in the near future.

I have had diffuser necklaces, you do have to be careful about the mess. I would add a tiny amount into it..( It is supposed to be porous) and then leaving it setting on a paper towel for 20 minutes or so while you finish getting ready to allow the oil to dry a bit, then wipe any excess off the outside and the only oil left should be inside of all the porous little holes.. just be careful and it will be fine. That one is lovely and i like the length.

Those Rule Breaker things are making the rounds. I have gotten them in 2 or 3 boxes. I think the saddest thing about them is that the sprinkles on top just look like they were too moist and they expanded and all the color leached out.

There is nothing inherently healthful about them. They have rather a lot of sugar and calories for what they are. The only reason a GF, dairy-free snack would be good for you is if you have celiac disease and a dairy allergy (or lactose intolerance) because the alternative would be eating something that made you sick.

I wouldn’t put a drop of oil in a porous necklace like that. Seems like your looking for a mess and stained clothing to me. Plus I don’t wear necklaces that practically touch my belly button.

A word of caution about the clove oil. The little card says NOT to use it if you take blood thinners (I do). I would not have known that if I hadn’t read the card.

That looks like a stunning box. I especially love the necklace and the book. Even the bar code on the book is clever!
