Heart + Honey Queen Bee Box July 2018 Review

Heart and Honey Sand and Sea Info card

Heart + Honey always has a theme, and this month’s “Sand and Sea” is a great one for July.

back of Heart and Honey Sand and Sea Info card

On the back, you’ll find a description of the theme and a little about each item.

Naiad Soap Arts Sea and Sunshine Whipped Soap Sugar Scrub, 9 oz. – Retail Value $16.00

I simply adore when H+H sends bath items in the Queen Bee box. Even though I’ve been receiving scrubs a lot lately in boxes, this one is quite different. It’s light blue color is calming while the coconut, lemongrass, mango, and sea salt scents take me straight to a beachy shore in my mind while still in my shower. This is not just a scrub, but also a soap so that it cleanses while you scrub away dull skin and also leaves you super moisturized. I really love how the whipped consistency allows it to stay on my skin while I scrub instead of losing half of it to the bathtub floor.

Another thing H+H is a master of curating is jewelry that fits the theme each month. One glance at this stacked springy bracelet and you can guess you’d be wearing it with the sand in your toes. Five different tiers of different shaped and sized beads in blue, white, silver, and clear make up this multidimensional bracelet that feels at home paired with both a bathing suit and sarong combo or a summery maxi dress. It’s also been handmade in India by artisans receiving fair trade wages via Community Friendly Movement.

Sliquid Natural Intimate Glide in Sea information on Sliquid Natural Intimate Glide in Sea

Sliquid Natural Intimate Glide in Sea, 2 oz. – Retail Value $9.00

Sliquid is one of the best personal lubricants available because it’s all natural and free of parabens and other nasty stuff that you don’t want inside your body. Their water-based formula isn’t greasy at all and has the easiest clean up imaginable though it stays nice and slippery when in use. This particular one is infused with natural seaweed extracts and also has carrageenan which “while also being one of nature’s most effective natural lubricants, has also been shown in some studies to reduce the transmission of HPV (Human Papillomavirus”. Whoa!

S-Hande Octopi with box

S-Hande Octopi

Oh. My God. I am obsessed with this toy! Every time I think I’ll receive something I’ve seen before, H+H ups the ante. This is absolutely the perfect gadget to send along with this month’s theme and it’s just so adorable too.

The box has all sorts of info on it.

It also comes with a quick start guide and thank you card.

On the back, you’ll find more info about contacting them, cleaning, and safety.

S-Hande Octopi with charging cord

So here is the Octopi out of the box with its USB charging cord.

other side of S-Hande Octopi

You’ll notice its main feature is the white “sucker” at the front that (like its entire body) is covered in a super soft medical grade silicone. This part also glows blue inside while powered on (or blinks while charging) so you won’t lose it in the dark. The sucker may sound a little intense, but I promise you that it starts off very gentle and even when increased will not do anything but provide pleasure to the most delicate parts of your body.

All 10 (yes, I swear there is one more than advertised) intensities/speeds are controlled by one simple button on the top that you’ll also hold for 3 seconds to power on and off. I found setting 3 or 4 to be a good jumping off point, personally. This little buddy doesn’t have the dual action the last “air pressure toy” H+H sent, but it makes up for it in cuteness.

bottom of S-Hande Octopi

It’s the perfect bedside companion due to the built-in tentacle base that keeps it waiting upright to be used. Plus- CUTE!

S-Hande Octopi with charger plugged in

At the back, you’ll find where to insert the charger so you can juice it back up for the next time. Again, I love how nicely it will sit while plugged in. It almost looks like its supposed to be on my nightstand.

Rocks Off Summer of Love Vibrating Bullet – Retail Value $13.90

Would you look at that? It’s another 2-toy month! I can’t believe!

back of Rocks Off Summer of Love Vibrating Bullet box

This one comes from a new brand to me called “Rocks Off” from the UK. Their box is pretty cute and matches the bullet inside.

Rocks off info card

There’s some paperwork inside too.

Summer of Love Vibrating Bullet

Here is the groovy little number. Another shocking thing I noticed upon receiving this is that I don’t currently own any basic “bullet” vibrators like this one. It’s a little less luxe feeling than other toys because it’s made of a hard plastic but isn’t coated in a soft silicone. Instead of a charger, this one is so small and simple that it just requires a single AAA battery.

button on Summer of Love Vibrating Bullet

There’s a button at the base which toggles through the 10 functions (3 levels of constant vibration and 7 patterns). It’s also where you will open it to replace the battery or take it out to travel with.

other side of Summer of Love Vibrating Bullet

The pattern continues around the entire body. One of the cool things about a bullet like this is that a lot of companies make toys that this one can go into so that it has other uses instead of what you get at face value. You can also slide it through the loop of some non-vibrating (rear-geared) toys to give them more life.

Summer of Love Vibrating Bullet in hand

Another great thing about this is that it’s so small! It can easily rendezvous as a lipstick in your makeup bag in case you get a little shy about anyone knowing you have it with you. Small but mighty.

Verdict: Heart + Honey included five items in this month’s box. Two of them vibrate while the others offer great summer fun and flair. The Octopi and the scrub are hands-down my favorites while the glide is great to have on hand, and the bullet will surely elevate other things in my arsenal. The bracelet is the only thing that isn’t my style, but I can easily pass it to a friend who will snap it up. The colors are wonderful!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Normally your subscription will start the month following the month you subscribe, but if there are current boxes still available you may be able to snag one! Heart + Honey will usually reach out when you first subscribe if you have an option.

From Heart + Honey:

Subscription orders are taken from the first day of the month, until the last. Renewals occur on the 15th of the month.  Month-to-month subscriptions will renew on a monthly basis, and 3, 6, and 12 month subscriptions will renew in the correlating time frame.  So for example, if you were to order a month-to-month subscription on the 12th of April, your first box will ship between the 1st-5th of May.  Renewal will happen on the 15th of May.

Coupon – Use code MSA10 to save 10% off any subscription!

Value Breakdown: This box costs $69.99 + $7.18 shipping, which means that each of the 5 items in the box has an average cost of $15.43.

  1. Marne, could you do a review of a couples box? I’d love to get one but kind of scared to spend $129 without some idea of what I’ll be getting. Thanks!

  2. Great review! Off topic, but I really love your Utz girl tattoo! 🙂

  3. Hi Everyone! This is Anne from Heart + Honey –

So sorry there seems to be a glitch with the MSA code – we have looked into it and everything appears fine on our platform, but if its not working for you, try the code SAVE10 for the same discount.

Our July Sand and Sea boxes are sold out, but we have room for new subscribers in our August shipment…the theme will be Orchid – A Most Passionate Posy ; )

  4. Nope, coupon doesn’t work. I liked the box so much, I didn’t care.
They are still selling this box if you want it. 🙂

    • Hey Mandy! The code is for subscriptions only, so that may be why. Glad you got your hands on one regardless though!!

      • I did subscribe as a new subscriber. The coupon didn’t work, but like I said, it’s a small discount and I wanted this particular cute little box enough to not wait for the next coupon to come around.:).

Your review was really humorous and well- written!

      • Hmmm- dangit! I’m not sure what went wrong. I tried it myself and it seemed to work. If you reach out to H+H I can certainly give them a heads up!

And thank you for the kind compliment! 🙂

      • I, too, wasn’t able to use the code, even for the 3-month subscription I was trying to purchase. In the end, the shipping for the 3-month sub was over $40, while the one box purchase shipped for a ‘mere’ $10.50. 🤔

      • Hey A.M.! Sorry to hear it wasn’t working! Please reach out to H+H to see if they can fix you up.

      • Over $40 SHIPPING? R u serious?

  5. I keep waiting for someone to ask what that octopus thing does. Lol.

When I first saw it, at the top, it looked like a web cam! I thought – whoa!
    Good inclusion. hehe.

  6. Thanks for the review! That octopi is hands down the most adorable toy I’ve ever seen

  7. Marne it says code MSA10 is longer available

    • Sorry about that! Looking into it ASAP!

    • Hey Rebecca!
It’s only for use on a subscription, so could that be why? If you tried to use it for just a single box, that’s maybe why it didn’t work. :/ Let me know!

      • Marne, I could be really wrong but I don’t think most people here buy one single box of something, but a recurring subscription when a recurring subscription is an option.

I have never bought a single box of anything which is recurring and piqued my interest, but I also usually don’t seem to love any of my subscription boxes as much when I pre-pay for a year, because I think I set my expectations too high, but most people probably don’t have the same personality. ( PSMH was a huge exception, as I loved yearly subs. with them and unless they put wool dryer balls or recipe cards in FFF, it’s also great to buy per year b/c we get to pick out our items and add extras to our boxes). JMO. 🙂
