Each box comes with a fold-out card detailing the items included:

You’ll also receive a $5 off coupon, which is good for beauty purchases in-store and online.

(This month it is $10 off!)

And just like Ipsy, with each box you’ll receive a new makeup bag:

This exterior of this bag is spill-proof with a metallic finish.

So cute! And the inside is lined in silver fabric:

Now, on to the items!

RITUALS The Ritual Of Hammam Refreshing Foaming Shower Gel - 50 ml Value $3.75

I really like the Rituals Foaming Shower Gels, so I was happy to see this in the box. If you aren’t familiar with this product, it’s a gel that turns into a lathery foam once it makes contact with water.

This scent is a Eucalyptus and Rosemary blend, with the focus on the Eucalyptus!

Lancôme Bi-Facil Double-Action Eye Makeup Remover - 50 ml Retail Value $15

This is an excellent makeup remover - I'm thrilled they sent the mini size! It removes even waterproof eyemakeup, and it's gentle.

Clarins Tonic Body Treatment Oil - 10 ml Value $6.40

This body oil is designed to help firm skin and diminish the appearance of stretch marks. It gets a lot of rave reviews, and I have been on a decade-long quest to find a solution for stretch marks and cellulite, so of course, this was the first item I tried! I love the herbal minty scent and it felt lovely on my skin. Did I notice any difference in stretch marks or cellulite? Sadly, no, but I think it might be more intended for preventing stretch marks than diminishing the appearances of pre-existing stretch marks.

So in conclusion, the is a luxe body oil that smells and feels great, but your mileage may vary on toning and stretch marks.

Elizabeth Arden PREVAGE Anti-Aging + Intensive Repair Daily Serum - 5 ml Value $16.20

This serum is designed to help diminish signs of aging, and improve the appearance of sun-damaged skin. The sample size should last a few days (probably not enough for me to notice any skin differences), but I was so impressed with the feel of the formula. It absorbs almost instantly, and it left my skin feeling so smooth - a perfect base for makeup.

Benefit Cosmetics The POREfessional Face Primer – 3 ml Value $4.80

This primer is a classic I’ve sampled many times before. The formula feels super smooth on my skin and does a great job of temporarily filling in pores so that they look invisible.

Giorgio Armani Si Passione Eau de Parfum Spray - 1.2 ml Value $1.36

This perfume has notes of sparkling pear, rose, and woody vanilla. It's sweet fragrance - not my favorite, but I'm not much of a perfume wearer.

Verdict: This box has an estimated value of about $47.51 (not counting the makeup bag.) I think that's a good value for a $15 beauty box. This month had good sample sizes and some pricey products that I was thrilled to try.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, right now the site says your first box will be the August box if you sign up today.

I get both this box and Allure and I like them both. The coupon that comes monthly, makes it a $10 box and is sooo much better than Ipsy, Birchbox, and Sephora.

I do not care for the scent of this particular Rituals at all.

Off topic is anyone else having problems listing on the swap site this morning? I can’t.

Hello, just wondering if they ever have spoilers on the Macy’s beauty box?

Michelle

Yes

Emily

They have the cutest bags.

Where do I use the coupon code at?

Carolyn

At Macy’s, where else would you think?

Carolyn

Um, Macys?

sara

You actually put it in the promo code section. This means you can’t use any other promotions when you use the gift card. Kind of a bummer.

JuJu

Well, why?
None of the other Macy’s promotions normally apply to cosmetics and fragrances.

Sara

Still waiting for this month’s box 😏

Do people like this subscription more than Allure? I am a new subscriber to Allure, but curious to know what others think.

Do not subscribe…Please see reviews on the subscription addiction site… I could not cancel my subscription. I tried for 3 months..they kept telling me that I had to do it online, but every time I tried(by going to ‘manage subscription..like they told me) it said I had no subscription…oh,if only that were the case. I spent countless hours with customer service and finally paid my balance and canceled my Macy’s card!!! That was the only way I could get it to stop. This experience left such a bad taste that I will NEVER even shop at Macy’s again!!!!

I quit Macys pretty early on in the sub. I subscribe to 2 Allure. I think Allure is better and has larger products. Go back to past reviews and look at both.

Oh right, I forgot to mention that Macy’s ships any beauty purchase for free, no minimum. For me it’s a HUGE selling point, especially in conjunction with those coupons.

I personally do like the Macy’s beauty box subscription better than Allure, I think Macy’s is more consistent in their curation, plus I really appreciate the coupons (which can be used twice, btw – online and in store).

However, I don’t think I am in the majority on this. A lot of people complain about Macy’s being “boring”, or the brands not being upscale enough for a retailer like Macy’s, etc.

I get this and Allure. Dropped Birchbox and Play and settled on these instead. Yes they are both $5 more; however, I have been far more consistently happy with the items I receive. BB and Play felt more random while Allure and Macy’s have IMO better curation with well known name brands. Macy’s includes a $5 gift card (sometimes $10) and all Macy’s beauty items have free shipping. You can choose all kinds of things from $3 masks to on sale high end lipstick. That’s my feelings anyway 🙂. Enjoy whatever you choose!

Ditto. I dropped Ipsy and play. Have had Macy’s since they started and allure for over a year. I usually like all of the Macy’s samples. The coupon dates overlap a bit too. Just used the June’s 5 and July’s 10 together!

Nancyisshopping

I love this subscription! The bags are always so great.

I already have almost everything in this (will try to swap for the Rituals), but looks like a nice box! And I was already able to swap for the $10 coupon, so I don’t feel like I missed out on anything. 😉
