Le Noir Bazaar - The Dark Market June 2018 Review

There was a card included that detailed both the items inside as well as their listed value. I really liked the illustration on this, and the card was high quality with nice resolution printing.

Black Magick Soap - Listed Value $6

I’m always on the hunt for homemade soaps, and this goat’s milk bar made by Le Noir Bazaar smells so good! Lavender is one of my favorite scents, and I love how it’s been balanced with black amber, giving it more a musky depth. I also can smell a little bit of the coconut oil it contains, which adds a nice tropical element - perfect for summer. It has a nice lather to it, and it rinses off cleanly!

Ladies’ Choice Psychic Teas -

Ladies’ Choice Psychic Teas and Honey Sticks - Listed Value $7 (Buy a .1lb pack of tea for $1.95 here)

This box is always really good about communicating ingredients in their products, which I really appreciate! This tea contains mugwort, which is one of a number of botanicals that pregnant ladies shouldn’t consume without a doctor’s supervision. Intended to activate psychic awareness, this loose tea blend contains rosemary, clove, mistletoe, oakmoss, elecampane, and rue. I can really smell the rosemary when I open the bag, but I can taste the depth of the clove after it’s been brewed. This size bag will make 5+ cups of tea, and came with one of my very favorite treats - honey sticks!

Night Forest Backpack - Listed Value $15

So, I just bought a tapestry for my new house that looks so much like this; I swear Le Noir Bazaar is reading my mind! I was also really excited about the fact that this is a backpack; I’ve never received a bag in this shape in any box before. These are my very favorite colors; mostly the black, haha, but I love rich teal, purple, and magenta hues like this. I cannot wait to pack this with a water bottle, bug spray, and snacks for a hike, then reload it up with sunscreen, White Claw, and a new book for the beach. I think I’m going to use this so much!

Amethyst Pendulum and Divination Mat Set

Amethyst Pendulum and Divination Mat Set - Listed Value $24

What a perfect set to go with a cup of the Psychic’s tea! This mat isn’t a special material or anything, but the quality of the printing is clear and easy to read, which is the most important part. The pentagram in the center serves as a great focal point. Amethyst is typically associated with promoting balance and serenity, so it’s a good choice for the pendulum part of this set since much of that process can involve meditation. I personally have a lot of amethyst stones in my house - purple’s my favorite color, so I think that’s partially why the stones have a calming effect on me. I’m really excited to set this up in my house in a semi-permanent spot!

Death’s Head Moth Hair Clip

Death’s Head Moth Hair Clip - Listed Value $12

This hair clip is the perfect mix of pretty and macabre! The Death’s Head moth was given its name from their skull-like pattern, and these li’l guys have been long considered a bad omen, but I think they’re so fascinating. I have to be careful of hair clips because they get tangled in my curly hair very easily, but I think I could make this a pretty addition to a cleanly pulled-back updo.

Pentagram Earrings - Listed Value $18

I grew up in a very small, not-so-progressive town, and almost as soon as I discovered Wicca at the age of 15, I felt like I had to hide that part of myself from almost everyone (except my parents). The only thing I did during those years as an homage to my faith was wear a pentagram necklace on a super-long chain that was always hidden underneath my clothes. Now as an adult, I live in a more accepting city and feel more comfortable with outward expressions of my faith, and these earrings are the perfect accessory to make a real statement! I love that they dangle and the stainless steel wires are really nice - I don’t have sensitive skin, but this added quality is a nice touch.

Pentagram Stone Point Necklace

Pentagram Stone Point Necklace - Listed Value $21

What a beautiful take on a pentagram pendant! I’m sure my love for the color black is well-known by now, but seriously, this will match almost everything I own! I also love the onyx for its properties; normally known to dispel negative energies, this stone is also used to release sorrow and grief. The necklace is high-quality; the chain feels solid but still delicate enough to be pretty.

Verdict: This Le Noir Bazaar box thrilled me from top to bottom yet again! This subscription is such a good fit for me because the items make me so happy every time. It’s like a dear friend personally picked these things out for me. I absolutely love the jewelry this month, that backpack was the perfect summer accessory I didn’t know I needed, and I think I’ll have so much fun working with the divination kit and sipping on the tea. I really like that these items speak to me on a personal level, and are always so perfectly with my interests.

To Wrap Up:

Can I still get this box if I sign up today? Sadly, no! You’ll receive the July box. Boxes ship by the 14th every month.

Value Breakdown: This box costs $35.99 + $7 shipping, which means that each of the 7 items in the box has an average cost of $6.14. Way, way less than what these items are listed as being worth, and way less than I could’ve found them on my own!

This is an awesome box and great review but as a wiccan I have one problem. .. these are pentacles because they are right side up. Pentagrams are upside down. It’s a very common mistake for most witches and to some covens not a big deal but to some of us it is

Wow, I’ve dabbled in wicca for 20 years and have never heard anyone say that pentagrams were upside down. I’ve also never seen it in anything I’ve read. Now I’ve not read a ton, but enough that it surprises me to have never seen this.
I’ve always been told and read it was a pentacle if the pentagram was in a circle. That the pentagram is just the star itself, techincally in any orientation.

That’s a fair observation, Amber! I used “pentagram” here because of the circular encasing, and I also went by the included item description card, but I could understand a concern here. So many aspects of the faith can be really specific with language, and I definitely didn’t mean to offend anyone!

Whoops! I typed too fast for my poor brain! I meant:

“I used “pentagram” here, but “pentacle” would be more accurate because of the circular encasing,”

Ooh I like this box! I’m wiccan so this is perfect for me!
