Culturefly Walmart-Exclusive Mario 8-Bit Box Review

Culturefly has released more collectible boxes this summer. These collectible boxes are available in-store exclusively at Walmart. You may remember Culturefly from their other popular boxes like Pusheen Box, The Nick Box, and DC World's Finest!

Check out my review of the Nintendo Console Mystery Box, Call of Duty WWII Box, Super Mario Bros Box, and Legend of Zelda Box as well!

This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

Such a great box design!

The packaging itself is FULL of nostalgia.

The Box: Walmart-Exclusive Mario 8-Bit Box

The Cost: $19.98

The Products: 5 exclusive Mario items – plus one mystery item!

Good To Know: These are available in-store at Walmart! This is not a subscription, but a one-off mystery box.

You'll be able to see little pictures of the items in your box - and one is left to your imagination - keep reading to take a peek.

Star Pin - Value $5?

Like many geeky subscription and mystery boxes, it all starts with a pin. This box goes with a gold star pin.

55x40 Throw Blanket - Value $20?

I'm thinking that this item alone is worth around the cost of the box - so that's awesome! It's a decent size, maybe on the smaller side - but the print is just too cool.

Castle Coun Bank - Value $15?

Here is the mystery item - a plastic castle coin bank!

It has all of the 8-bit details. It's a hard plastic and stands about 4 inches tall.

You'll find the coin slot in the back of the castle.

With the coin retrieval on the bottom, as expected.

Vinyl Coaster Set - Value $10-15?

Luigi has made an appearance! These bendable 4x3 vinyl coasters might be my favorite items in the box!

I love the designs, and they just feel like they will really last a long time - perfect for the coffee table by your gaming systems.

Mario Sublimated Socks - Value $12?

The last item in the box is a pair of sublimated printed socks.

The front and back are identical - but how great are those two designs together.

Sublimated socks are always on the thin side - so these will be great for spring and fall.

Verdict: At $20, this really feels like a fantastic value for all of you old school Mario fans out there! Most items were both practical and fun at the same time - I think that's what makes me like this one so much.

What do you think of the Mario 8-Bit Box? Are you grabbing one at Walmart?

My kiddo is playing the newest Mario game and is somewhat skeptical when I told him this is what the game used to look like.

Do you know if you can order it online and pick it up in the store? Really love the nostalgia of it all!!!

I don’t believe so. In the past when they released these boxes they weren’t available online – only in the store.

We just bought my son the Super Nintendo NES game system and he is absolutely in LOVE with Mario and Luigi so I’m going to pick this box up for him! Hopefully my local Walmart will have it! Any idea when it was released?
