Bluum June 2018 Review
My son, Fox, is 2, very active, and loves discovering new toys! We both have been loving our Bluum boxes! Let's see what we received this month:
Mini Monkey Mat - Retail Value $24.99
This mat is amazing! It is 5" x 3" and made of polyester, plus it is water resistant. The bag stays attached to the mat so you can quickly fold and put back into the zipper bag for safe keeping. The edges are weighted so you don't have to worry about the wind blowing this away. It is the perfect blanket to use for picnics or just to relax and play on outside. I am going to keep this in my diaper bag since I always seem to want to have a snack picnic with my son at the park and I never have a blanket for us handy.
I set this up in our backyard the other night and Fox had a blast playing on it. He kept bringing more toys and his play food from his food truck over so we could have a picnic. Our dog Rufus seemed to enjoy it as well.
Plan Toys Sorting Lion - Retail Value $14.99
This wooden lion allows your little one to stack and sort. There are only three block pieces so it is easy to take apart and build again. My son didn't seem too interested in this lion even though he loves animals. Since this feels a bit young for him I am going to be saving it for when baby number 2 arrives and is able to play with wooden toys, or I might gift it to a friend that has a baby in the appropriate age range for this cute lion right now.
The Lion's Share with Finger Puppet Activity Book - Retail Value $10.99
Finger puppet books are the best! They really make for a fun and silly storytime and always seem to engage my son in a new way with the book. This book takes us to a party with Lion, but he doesn't want to share with his friends. Everyone needs to help him learn why sharing is so important and how he can share more. This is a great message for kids and parents alike!
Rich Frog Wash Mitt - Retail Value $2.95
The last item of the month is this duck wash mitt. We actually already have a duck mitt that we got when my son was younger, but he never really seemed to care for it. Plus, you have to use it once like a standard washcloth or else it starts to smell right away. The fabric is extra soft and the animal is cute, but I just don't think this is something we are going to get a lot of use out of. I might gift it to a friend, or maybe save it for when baby number 2 arrives (maybe Fox can use it if we have him help us when we give his new baby sister a bath).
Verdict: This month's Bluum felt a bit young for my son, a trend I have been seeing lately. While all of the products were great and high quality, they just weren't really things that we need or that Fox seemed interested in. The monkey mat is perfect for us though so I count this box as a win simply for receiving that mini blanket! All of the other items will make great gifts for friends or are things that I am going to hang onto for when baby number 2 arrives. I received a total retail value of $53.92 which is a great value since this box is $34 a month, including free shipping!
