Accio! June 2018 Review

The info card for this box is always an “issue” of the Daily Prophet, and it explains all the delights about to be discovered within! Excitingly, this month’s theme is “Wizard Travel.” I find that travel items can be among the most incredibly useful while at the same time being super-adorable, and sometimes travel can be tough, so having items on me that make me smile are a must!

Knight Bus Canvas Tote Bag

Knight Bus Canvas Tote Bag – Listed Value $20

I receive a lot of tote bags during the month, but the clever wording, bright color, and well-laid out design really elevated this from the rest of the crowd! This is a nice size – sometimes canvas totes can be way too small or impossibly huge, but this is great for day-to-day. It would be perfect for a book (or two!), wallet, and water bottle, or even a great secondary bag for work essentials, like chargers, a planner, pens, and extra notebooks (which I always carry!).

Wizard Places Candle Tin – Retail Value $12

Unsurprisingly, one of my favorite spots in the US is the famous Florida park that’s been created to look like Diagon Alley – everything looks, smells, and feels so real! It’s a beautifully stress-free environment, but that’s not to say I don’t have a to-do list when I arrive. I always ride the Gringott’s bank ride immediately, and then I have to stop at Florean Fortescue’s for ice cream! I always get the strawberry-peanut butter flavor, so how perfect is this candle? The raspberry smell is lightly sweet, and there’s a richness to it that smells like walnut to me. I love soy candles because they burn so cleanly, and the double-wick here is a really nice touch to ensure even burning.

House Pride Zippered Travel Pouch – Listed Value $12

I love that this item goes so well with the canvas tote. I feel like the house pride items are always so thoughtful, and the common Ravenclaw pride chant is a really nice rhyme for the overall design. The size on this item is really nice too – it could be used for quite a bit of makeup, stationery, stickers, highlighters, etc, or it could hold quite a few colored pencils for my coloring obsession!

Express Ticket Acrylic Fridge Magnet

Express Ticket Acrylic Fridge Magnet – Listed Value $5

I have quite the collection of magnets in my house, and I have to say, I’m a bit picky about what I put on my fridge! This acrylic magnet definitely makes the cut, though – it’s really high-quality, and I love the design. This looks just like the ticket you’d need to present in order to board the Hogwarts Express!

Magical Travel Poster

Magical Travel Poster – Listed Value $15

I can’t believe this! I actually own art by this artist already – I received the Hogsmeade poster two Christmases ago! Imagine my joy at seeing the one featuring the Forbidden Forest in this box – it’s been on my wishlist ever since I received the first one. I love the colors in this, and it’s going to look so amazing on my wall. I love the design, the lettering, and it’s so cool – the way that it’s been printed makes it look like the unicorn is actually glowing!

Verdict: I’ve been so happy with Accio! lately, and this one especially was such a strongly-themed and well-executed box. I can see myself taking the canvas tote everywhere for the rest of summer, the candle is going to be in major rotation in my house, and the Forbidden Forest poster is going to make me smile every time I see it! I’m so happy that I received items I can actually use and enjoy on a regular basis, rather than just decorative items that might not serve as much purpose.
