Quirky Post is the little sister to Quirky Crate and delivers a smaller “box of awesome” to your doorstep each month. Each Quirky Post will include 3 items. You are guaranteed a pair of socks and an enamel pin. The 3rd item is a surprise, and each box is different! They may include past items from Quirky Crate or new items that they know you’ll love. But don’t worry, they’ll make sure you never get the same item twice.

My Subscription Addiction paid for this box. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

Quirky Post May 2018 Review

This month's Quirky Post included another "Featured Artist" insert. May is all about California-based artist Marisa Ravel AKA Lazer Kitten! It offers a lengthy, enthusiastic write-up on her work, background, and inspiration.

One out of the four items in this month's curation was made by Liz, and it was:

Lazer Kitten Fruit Punch PinRetail Value $12.00

This fruit punch pin! I love it. Who doesn't remember folding their empty Capri Sun pouches in half, pulling the yellow straw out like an antenna and making a pretend cell phone out of it as a kid? It's so nostalgic and cute! The pin itself is about 1-inch tall, and I'm definitely going to festoon it on my jean jacket.

Iron-On Cheeseburger Patch – Retail Value $2.50

This is a pretty tiny patch, and its value reflects that. It's about 1.5 inches in diameter, which is a little too small for my patch preferences! The colors are vibrant and the texture is thickly woven and high-quality, which is certainly a plus. I do wish it was larger so it could fit in with other patches I have, which are usually around 3-4 inches in diameter.

Scented Nail Art Stickers – Retail Value $3.05 (RM 12.26)

These were cute! Each sticker is about a quarter-inch tall, so they're small enough to fit on most nails. I scratched-and-sniffed the cute hot dog sticker and it smells like Pixy Stix, almost. (Which is great in my book—cause who wants their nails to smell like hot dogs?)

Nail stickers aren't really my style, but I'm sure someone who is into creative nail design would have some fun with these.

Quirky Pink Socks – Estimated Retail Value $3.50

And, last but not least: the pair of socks included in every month's box!

I wasn't able to find these socks online, so their value is estimated based off of past Quirky Post sock values. I love these, despite their strange and indescribable print. I'd call her an Alien Queen if I had to label it. They're a great pink color and I love the turquoise accents! I would definitely wear these with black platform sandals in the summer for a playful, quirky-cool street style vibe.

Verdict: This month's Quirky Post Box once again served up everything that makes its curation so special: bright colors, bold, independent designs, and charming quirkiness. The fruit punch pin was my favorite, for sure! The patch wasn't as great as past Quirky Post boxes, but the fact that they included a fourth item (when usually just three are included) made up for that.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, but order today to get next month’s box that ships July 15th!

Value Breakdown: The total estimated value of these items was $21.05. Other months have given me a little more bang for my buck when it comes to higher-priced pins, although I don't always love them as much as I liked this month's selection. At $16.60 for this box, here is what we paid approximately per item:

  • Pin: $9.46
  • Patch: $1.97
  • Nail Art Stickers: $2.41
  • Socks: $2.76
