I like that they included this insert which gives descriptions of the items and lists their value. The front side is everything you will receive in the Essentials box while the back also shows what you get in the Premium box.

Christy & Co Blue Peplum Top, Size M- Listed Value $35

This month they ran out of size large clothing items and asked if they could send me mediums instead. Since I’m optimistic that one day I’ll lose the baby weight and get back down to a medium, I said sure. I really love this top, the color, and the style would be so cute with a pair of white shorts! It seems well made with all of the details such as the side zipper and the detail on the back. It is made of 95% cotton, 5% spandex and is hand wash only. I had my sister in law model the shirt for me- she wears a size medium and has an average sized chest, and as you can see, the top was much too tight across the bust. I actually had my mom try this on too, and it was the same way for her. This means that this super cute top will probably never fit me since I am a B cup at my smallest. Sorry if that’s TMI, but I wanted to note this probably won’t fit someone with a larger chest.

Pink Floral Infinity Scarf - Listed Value $25

This scarf is very soft and the sheer material (35% cotton, 65% viscose) feels like it’s a decent quality, but this isn’t exactly something that I want to receive in the summer! It feels much more like a spring item to me. It’s very pretty, but for some reason, the flowers feel very cartoonish to me and it makes me feel like this is for a much younger girl. I also felt like it was a bit short on me.

Rose Rock Nail Wrap (Ncla Beauty) - Retail Value $16

I love the idea of nail wraps in a fashion box since they can be a great fashion accessory! Unfortunately, I don’t have long nails so I wasn’t able to try these. They also aren’t really my style since I usually go for more neutral nail colors, but I think that the style is pretty on trend. I’ll probably gift these to my younger sister since they are more her style!

A.Marie Jewelry Mimi Choker - Retail Value $112.00

I am not usually one for chokers, but this one is really pretty! It feels very delicate and I liked the way it looked on me more than I thought I would. This necklace is made of 24k gold electroplated floral links and is 12” with a 3.75” extender. Since it is made of links it kept flipping over on me, so it was a little difficult to get on and I had to wear it a bit tighter than I wanted, but once it was on, I didn’t notice it at all! They also included a $30 off coupon for A.Marie Jewelry and it looks like shipping is free! I think you do have to have at least $30 worth of merchandise in your cart to use this though, FYI.

RÉNA IMAN Gift Card - Retail Value $50

This company is dedicated to providing affordable leather luxuries with a mission of ending domestic violence. From RÉNA IMAN: “With every purchase, a percentage of sales goes back to a local and national charity to collectively help change the lives of women and create our footprint towards stopping violence against women.”

While the purpose of this company is honorable, there aren’t that many items in their shop at the moment, so I’ll probably hang onto this and check it out at a later date since there is no expiration date listed on the card!

Me Too Shoes Rounded Lip Gloss- Listed Value $8.00

The card lists the lip gloss, an eyeglass cloth and a 30% off coupon, but my bag didn’t contain an eyeglass cloth. The lip gloss is moisturizing and a cute little ball that I can throw in my purse for when I need it. I didn’t see any shoes that I couldn’t live without, but this site offers free ground shipping on all domestic orders which is nice!

The following items are only in the Premium Box:

Lush Off the Shoulder Striped Dress, Size M - Listed Value $68.00

This dress is listed as “super flattering” and I have to say that I really disagree. It sort of ended up looking like a pillowcase on both my sister in law and my mom and the embroidery didn’t help. I think the embroidery and stripes actually sort of clashed since they were both such dull colors. If the dress had been plain black with the black embroidery, it would have been a great summer dress because the lack of shape wouldn’t have been noticeable. Style aside, it seems well made and has an interior liner so no slip necessary. It’s is made from 95% polyester and 5% cotton and feels light enough for summer, but it’s just not my style. What are your thoughts on this dress? I might just not be fashion-forward enough to appreciate it, so I’m curious to hear what you think!

T-Shirt & Jeans Palm Leaf Shoulder Bag- Retail Value $36

What a perfect summer bag! The palm leaf print is really fun, with the little pops of pink in the tassels and interior but the natural color of the rest of the bag tones it down, making it a good everyday bag. It seems really well made and the thick canvas material on the outside feels sturdy. I like that it has an interior slit pocket, but also the larger zippered portion too. It’s listed as a crossbody bag, but the chain is actually really heavy and makes it a bit uncomfortable to do that with it. It makes it clunky sounding when you set it down and I think it’s almost heavier than the bag itself! I would have just swapped it out for another strap, but it’s not detachable, unfortunately. I’m still going to try to make it work because it’s just casual enough for the beach, so we’ll see how it does once I’m out and about with it!

Verdict: This month everything just had this almost perfect vibe to it for me. I really wanted to love everything, but they weren’t all quite my style. The peplum top and palm bag both fit my style, but of course, the top won’t fit me and I was surprised to find that I liked the choker. Everything else was a bit of a miss for me, but someone else might receive these and love them. It was a great mix of items and I like that they sent two clothing items, which I think is unique for a box. I didn’t find anything wrong with the quality, so that doesn’t affect the value for me, instead, it’s just a chance you take on a box like this.

The total for the Premium box comes to $300, not counting the gift cards and coupons, which I think is a great value for a $54.90 ($49.95 + $4.95 shipping) box. As for the Essentials box, the value is $196 (without the gift cards) which is still a good value for a $39.95 ($35 + $4.95 shipping) box. When comparing the two subscriptions, for $14.95 extra for the Premium box we received the dress and purse valued at $104.

What would have happened if you would have refused the mediums? I certainly can’t size down.

Janine Cox

They ran out of my size in the dress and they offered me to pick something from the shop or size down. Wish I got something else the dress is a little tight in a medium. The tank didn’t fit my chest at all. I wish they had more sizes to choose from

Brandi

That’s a great question! Let me see what I can find out for you!

Jess

I see what you mean about the dress, but I actually think it looks cute, both the way it fits and the colors. Then again, I live in Louisiana, so if I come across something lightweight, I wear it even if I don’t like it ha ha. I’ve lived here several summers and I still can’t take the heat!

So, my understanding is that everyone receives the same items with this box. Is that correct?

Reply ButtonReply

Brandi

Yes, everyone receives the same items. So I’m sure it’s really hard to please everyone in that regard since everyone has different body shapes and style preferences! It would definitely be a nice dress for the heat though- whether you like the style or not! Lol

I actually have that dress and love it….I love hippie boho music festival type looks….I wear it with black gladiator style flats and a wide brimmed black hat….my favorite brands are lush and free people…I’m 5’9 and a size 4….so it might just be that it fits taller frames more flattering

Reply ButtonReply

Brandi

I’m glad to know it works for you! You’re probably right about the taller frame making it more flattering. I’m sure it’s super comfortable on too- especially to run after 4 little kids in! 🙂

Flatteringly…agh….spelling is always off at the end of a hard day spent with my four little kids

You can always turn the dress into a pillow cover. 😃

What about pairing a wide belt with the dress to create an empire waist? It could still work, don’t give up!

Brandi

Good suggestion! Thanks! 🙂

Every purse strap is detachable with either pliers or a really good wire cutter!

I know! I thought about doing that! If I can find a new strap to match, I just might! 🙂
