Kal-Elle Fandom Monthly “Marvel: Infinity War” Review

The front of the card this month is nothing short of epic, with a sweeping illustration of the characters involved in this juggernaut of a comic book film, and the back of the card breaks down all the goodies contained within the box.

Ladies of Marvel Magnet – Estimated Value $4.50 (based on a similar item)

The magnets are always such an awesome addition to these boxes, and I loved the girl power theme of this one! The portraits for each of the women were well-chosen, and they work together thematically really well. I just moved into a new house and this is the very first thing I’ll be putting on my fridge.

The Hulk Key Cover

The Hulk Key Cover – Estimated Value $3.25 (based on a similar item)

All of a sudden it seems like I’ve amassed a lot of keys lately; between getting a house and a new office, I have a lot of them! It’s so easy to tell them apart with key covers, and I love the idea of keeping the green guy with me at all times!

Captain America & Winter Soldier Necklace – Estimated Value $19.99 (based on a similar item)

I’ll always have a soft spot for ‘ol Cap – the first Captain America movie and Winter Soldier are two of my very favorites in the Marvel franchise! This necklace has so many nice details with the charms and two colors of beads. This quote is such a beautiful sentiment of friendship; it really personifies Steve and Bucky and how they continue to show up for each other.

Black Panther Earrings

Black Panther Earrings – Estimate Value $10.00 (based on a similar product)

I was so thrilled to see these in this box – my favorite Marvel movie is Black Panther! These renderings of T’Challa’s mask really maximize the infill style, and while they’re sturdy, they’re in no way heavy – a major plus for any dangling earrings.

Iron Man Bracelet – Estimated Value $13.00 (based on a similar item)

I don’t think I ever would’ve thought of using the arc reactor as a major design element, but this works so well with this type of glass cabochon! I love that it looks like it’s actually glowing, and the added braided straps lend an edgy look to this deliciously nerdy piece.

4x6 Thanos Art Print -

4×6 Thanos Art Print – Estimated Value $6.22 (based on a similar item)

I’ve really come to look forward to the prints in these boxes, and this Thanos one is really impressive! His gaze is so intense, and he’s fully armored and outfitted with the gauntlet. I thought the usual watercolor style we see in these pieces was used to great advantage as an element of the background.

Infinity War Tote Bag

Infinity War Tote Bag – Estimated Value $14.95 (based on a similar item)

You know me – I love a good tote bag! This one is a good size and feels like high-quality material, but the design is leaving me a little cold – I think it’s the “Marvel Studios” branding across the side. I would’ve loved to see a tote bag designed in the same style as the art prints usually found in the boxes, but this design felt a bit more like corporate swag, and not as artistically-inclined as the usual items.

Bonus Item – Spiderman Button – Estimated Value $2.50 (based on similar item)

There was a li’l bonus in this month’s box – a Spiderman button! The new Spiderman has been a really great addition to the Marvel universe, and even though I’m a little salty that the SM franchise has been rebooted three times in my lifetime so far, I like the new iteration of this character and was pumped to see this button.

Verdict: Doing a theme as large as Infinity War is a big task – but I thought Kal-Elle did an awesome job of representing a wide variety of characters, and still keeping hardcore fans happy! I loved the Black Panther earrings, this month’s magnet, and the striking art print. I will have no trouble sharing some of the items this month with fellow fans, and truly, isn’t sharing what fandom is all about? I’m super-excited for next month’s box, which is Jurassic Park/World-themed. Please, please, please, give me a T-Rex!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, you will receive the June box. From Kal-Elle:

Value Breakdown: This box cost me $19 + $3.75 shipping, which means that each of the 7 items in the box (not including the bonus button) has an average cost of $3.25. The fact that this box is always so highly curated, and offers a wide variety of well-designed items really adds value to the box.

  1. Thank you for a great review! I love those earrings, and agree that the bracelet is a unique take on a pretty overdone character. I also agree with you about the tote bag; everything else seems carefully planned and original, so it’s a bit of a letdown.
