Graze June 2018 Review
This month, Graze included an insert containing an overview of a farming school that graze is developing in Kabbubu, a village in the heart of poverty-stricken rural Uganda. The intent of the school is to help locals lift themselves out of poverty by teaching farming skills, with Graze supporting the students throughout their first few growing seasons. The other side of the insert contains the nutritional facts for the snacks included in this month’s shipment. There are also three little tearaway coupons to give to friends to get their 1st and 5th box for free.

Raspberry and Coconut Muffin –Buy 6 for $8.99

I am a sweet snack lover, and this really hit the spot. The coconut was unsweetened, and I love the textural mix in this snack. The raspberry infused cranberries were a favorite of mine – the perfect tangy tartness to compliment the cookie drops. The almonds gave a bit of a crunch. This was perfect for an afternoon snack and satisfied my sweet tooth in a relatively healthy way!
Super Kale & Edamame – Buy 6 for $8.99

Main Ingredients: crunchy edamame beans and kale chips baked with chia, cashew butter and a twist of lime.
I’ve always loved the dried edamame beans that graze uses in their snacks, and lime is one of my favorite flavors so I was excited to try this one out, especially after looking at the nutrition facts! Unfortunately, this wasn’t my favorite. The kale part of the mix was just OK for me – the lime felt a bit out of place, the whole thing needed some salt, and I found it to be texturally unpleasant. Plus, a lot of the kale ended up in an impossible to eat powder at the bottom of the container. That said, I did still like the edamame portion of the snack – and it was certainly guilt free!
Vitamin E Defense - Buy 6 for $8.99
Key Nutrition: 190 calories. 13g fat. 15g carbs. 3g fiber. 5g protein.
Main Ingredients: roasted hazelnuts, redskin peanuts, jumbo raisins and cranberries
This snack is a great source of vitamin E and is also high in manages, which helps protect your cells from stress. I love the combination of the nuts and dried fruit – for a sweet and savory snack that is filling and delicious. It is a bit higher in calories and carbs than the other, but is great for a special treat or a quick breakfast on the go!
Natural Energy Nuts - Buy 6 for $8.99
Key Nutrition: 230 calories. 21g fat. 6g carbs. 4g fiber. 7g protein.
Main Ingredients: raw and blanched almonds, roasted hazelnuts and walnuts
This is a pretty basic snack, containing a few different types of nuts, and is pretty high in calories for obvious reasons. I love to munch on nuts – they suppress my appetite and keep me full longer than a sweet alternative. Although this is a yummy snack mix, this is one that I feel I could make myself in a big batch – and I'd prefer to get some of the more unique mixes from this subscription.
Cinnamon Banana Energizer - Buy 6 for $8.99

Main Ingredients: chewy banana coins, honey cinnamon almonds, raisins and pecans
This is a new snack, and was absolutely delicious! In contrast to the Natural Energy Nuts, it’s 90 calories less and packs way more texture and flavor! The bananas were slightly dehydrated, but not fully dry – so they had an amazing chewy texture. The honey cinnamon almonds were such a treat and the raisins and pecans made this taste like dessert! Yes, send me a 6 pack of these, please.
Jelly Doughnut - Buy 6 for $8.99

Main Ingredients: raspberry fruit strings, almond slivers, raspberry infused cranberries and vanilla cookie drops.
I may or may not always have a pack of these in my desk – I can’t confirm nor deny that. They’re that good. Again, I love a sweet (and somewhat guilt-free) snack and although these are high in carbs, they’re pretty low in calories and considering the alternative is an actual donut, I feel like I'm still coming out ahead here. I am a lover of raspberry fruit strings and all the snacks that Graze put them in. I love the cookie drops which act as the "donut" and the almond slivers and raspberry infused cranberries add texture and nutritional value.
Vanilla Pear Energizer - Buy 6 for $8.99

Main Ingredients: vanilla pumpkin seeds, cranberries, dried pear and almonds
This is a new snack and packs a great flavor combination. I love the chewy dried pear, the sweet cranberries, the crunchy almond, and the honey-vanilla coated sunflower seeds. This is literally everything I want in a snack!
Veggie Protein Power - Buy 6 for $8.99
Key Nutrition: 130 calories. 7g fat. 7g carbs. 5g fiber. 7g protein.
Main Ingredients: edamame beans, spicy chickpeas, and black pepper cashews
The nutrition facts of this snack are on point! And if you like something spicy then this is for you. Unfortunately, it's a bit too spicy for my tastes. Each of the components has a different type of heat. I think of the eight that I received this month, this is the most flavorful. Texturally, it's all crunchy – but I'll give it to my husband and I know that as a lover all pepper varieties, he'll gobble this down immediately!
Verdict: For $13.99, Graze sent me eight delicious snacks break down to $1.75 each. I prefer the snacks that would be more difficult to make at home, and I’d be happy to receive 7 of the 8 of them again (the last was too spicy for me). I’m a lover of snacks – and I appreciate the ability to quickly grab something that is moderately healthy to satisfy me. I also love that they’re pre-packaged in a tiny little container making them easy to store in my bag and take with me wherever I might need a boost!
